If I had to choose, I would choose the Fiat currency, because the Fiat currency currently dominates the world. Cryptocurrencies are currently not considered a currency that most people consider a form of profitable investment. You will find it very difficult to find a place where cryptocurrencies are considered as a currency, even in many countries you will violate the law if using cryptocurrencies in payment.
Perhaps my best answer is that I will hold the Fiat currency and then split a portion to invest in cryptocurrencies.

-I would like to show my defiance to the banks and governments and not accept their inflated and manipulated fiat money
-I'd feel better knowing none of my payments can be stopped by the banks or governments

I can see logic in his argument. If that $10 is a big deal for you, then you will not be choosing that option and pay with fiat instead. But if you are rich and $10 is nothing for you and you really want to make a statement of support for the adoption of crypto and the resistance of the banking system, you would pay with crypto even if that is a little more expensive. That is also the same path I would take if I have all the means to do it. I would never use fiat once again if that is possible.

I have cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and ethereum but I keep trading it to become fiat currencies because of its uses. Maybe as of now that is the situation but I think in the future where everything will be in digital then I think that the fiat currencies will get removed in our system. These need a wide broad of discussion as everyone will surely have a different view. Both have advantages and disadvantages, both are different, there lots of things that need to look into for this comparison - so for me, the comparison is not making sense or necessary to discuss.

As I read those other opinion, they choose fiat over crypto. I'm not satisfied on their statement because I don't understand why they chose fiat. Maybe they aren't knowledgeable enough to handle bitcoin or maybe they don't experience how to use and manage bitcoin.

For me, bitcoin has a lot of advantage that fiat even if it is being used decades ago. Bitcoin is more secured, has fast transactions, and has a lot of promotion so many also uses in their transactions. It can also help you to your investments.

It depends on the time you're asking. As of now, I would 'need' both. Fiat is still the mainstream medium of exchange with daily transactions. You need it to buy what you need/want. Cryptocurrencies as of now, are best in sending money from long distances and higher amounts. Adoption is still not that great for it to replace current traditional monetary systems.

Yeah we should look at the market value of bitcoin and other coins I think now the day best coin to invest your money is bitcoin it has a really low price. Using fiat for our daily life is good but for holding it is not good to choose money for long term holding. If Crypto and Fiat are available wherever, then I will loved to use it whenever. As of now I couldn't decide which I prefer because crypto isn't much more usable and fiat is still needed and still I use and my family so if ever it is available where I go then it's happy to use crypto and buy some stuff. if ever people are deciding to use crypto as our primary transaction then it is time to improve more and use it as efficient way of any transactions.

For the fiat, it is needed to do micro-transactions just like spending it and buying goods in small shops. Before my government only allow fiat to all transaction in my country, honestly i will choose crypto. Because some need, especially in digital way i can pay with crypto and there are a lot of services in my country that accept bitcoin as payment. At that time, although my age is enough, but i don't have bank account so i use bitcoin or crypto related site to buy something digital and pay some bills.

Exactly, I don't need to choose too as we need both of them now, for now we can't live without the fiat as not every business accepting it and we cannot use it to pay our rent, to pay fare etc, still we need more years to be able to adopt this by most people, maybe it would take 2 or more decades before it will finally happen, as people thinks that crypto were scam so it won't be easy to convince them yet.

Well as of now i will be needing both cryptocurrency and fiat, why? Currently, it's being used for a different purpose. I use fiat for daily transaction, crypto for digital, cross country transaction and mostly as an asset. There's no need to pick just one side. Why should you choose only one? There's no way people only using crypto while there's no clear regulation yet. Even in my country, it's pretty much illegal to pay for goods using any currency other than the official one.

At the moment cryptocurrency is a worse choice because there's much less acceptance and we have much higher fees than with fiat. Micropayments are also much faster with fiat even if you're using cheap and fast cryptocurrencies. You still need an app open on your phone to pay and it takes at least 5 seconds.

I can pay with my card in 2 seconds just touching the terminal. No buttons no confirmations.

When we have the infrastructure cryptocurrencies are going to be better but for now it's fiat world.

One thing I don't understand is how can cryptocurrency bring equality in countries? are you expecting someone to distribute free cryptocurrencies in these third tier countries? All it might do is help in creating a new economic center in the world but this is pretty big situation to think about. I have been a crypto enthusiasts for the past years two years and i would definitely choose cryptocurrencies over fiat because of how convenient is it to use. Making transactions in crypto is faster, secured and very simple as compared to fiat currencies. You are asking this question in the best and the oldest cryptocurrency forum on the Internet, so it is obvious that you are going to get opinions very positive about cryptocurrencies, a currency printed by a government has its place and if it was backed by gold and governments had shown a commitment to keep their currencies backed by gold they will have a very stable economic system that will be fair for everyone.

Unfortunately that is not the way things are, governments have abused that power to the point that they are risking their own economies and the well-being of their citizens and when you take that into account it is easy to see why we need cryptocurrencies, especially bitcoin that has a very limited supply and a very constant rate of inflation.
