I think you make a solid point (even without my morning coffee). However, please know that I am always willing to openly and publicly reject a mint mark suggestion. I've done it plenty of times in the past, and I'll do it in this auction too, if the occasion arises.

But I think that you're asking for me to set an official rule on the matter, which may be a wise idea. Therefore and henceforth, if a mint mark is given with a bid, then I will officially and publicly accept or reject that mint mark. I do believe that is the wisest policy, TECSHARE. That’s a great question. We’ll stick with alphabetic characters for now. That’s more authentic for a mint mark. Plus, I think that numbers, especially the example you gave of “2021” may be too confusing printed directly below the date of “2020.”
