i think you watch too much fox news

there are 200 countries and none of them are terrorist countries
just angry people living in some that end up doing foolish things when they go to other countries

to a country being invaded is the invaders that are the terrorists. so many times when america goes to other countries they are fighting the natives while the natives are fighting their terrorisers(usa)

I agree with palle on one point though; inadequate freedom.

Unless you're traveling to places like North Korea, you still have to respect the local cultures, some to which might sound ridiculous.

For instance, the thumbs-up is considered giving the middle finger in some Middle East countries. In Japan, it's unethical to eat while walking.

Also if things go South, locals tend to receive better treatment than tourists/ foreigners.

1. Yes, but partially. I have ID card, but AFAIK, some countries don't allow it and I would need to get passport before travelling to that country.

Disagree, in the context of the question 'Are you a citizen of the world?' This I think is much more important as a psychological question than as merely a list of how many countries you have visited. We are one species on one planet, and a huge proportion of the trouble and conflict that arises between people is due to staking a claim to a certain patch of land. It is all everybody's. We are all citizens of the world. The sooner we all realise this, the better - fewer wars, greater compassion, and perhaps even a meaningful and coordinated response to climate change.

Well, not exactly 
Intention was to leave that part open.
I am equally curious about people who never traveled - whats stopping them - desire, ability (time, financial or passport limitations)
Same applies for people who have traveled. Personally after spending a lifetime of travel for business and pleasure I still enjoy it and largely have the means, except for some recent time constraints.

Interesting point of view.
I never really though of it this way.
Having traveled to countries with oppressive regimes and riddled with security concerns, I still met a lot of wonderful, amazing, interesting and compassionate people, seen a lot of amazing sites, felt a lot of history and culture...
Its those people and those experiences (and some freaking amazing food) that made travel totally worth it.

Just because I want to go abroad, it doesn't mean I want to go to North Korea or Syria.
Many countries have perfectly sufficient freedoms and safety levels, and my opinion is that it is a good thing to expand your horizons and experience new cultures. But this doesn't mean I want to travel to a war zone or a brutal dictatorship.

However, if I had the courage, it might be good to go to those places to gain a better perspective on how lucky I am to live in the West, and how many people around the world suffer in dangerous areas and under oppressive regimes. It is very easy to live in a bubble and not consider for example the estimated 2 billion people who don't even have access to clean water.

In Japan, it's unethical to eat while walking.

It used to be like that in England. If fact, I once gave up a girl friend because she used eat ice cream cones whilst walking in the streets. Now people eat everywhere, even when shopping in supermarkets, and they throw their litter on the floor. It is not an improvement, and it is just one indication of lower moral standards I believe it indicates a lack of consideration for others and the environment, and probably is the result of low self-esteem.

You are citizen of your country not the entire world because you need passport and lot of checking process involves before visiting another country.

Yes I love to travel and visit new places but for some reasons I don't like to move anywhere other than my country because you don't feel the freedom anywhere other than your born place.

I feel like a citizen of the entire world because I am really confortable and happy where ever place I go but we have to assume that our passport indicates where we we were born and what's our country.

What does this have to do with being a "citizen of the world?"

I have the same answers as you but that doesn't make me a citizen of the world.  Each, and every time, you go to another country (that's much different than yours) you realize that you are not a citizen of the world. Except in the broadest of senses that we're all people and that if we all abide by a simple social contract

Cant go to my replacement home country due to closed border because of corona so I am stuck in yet another country for almost 1 year now.
