I'm not a hodler -- I actually ....   so I can't do BTC.

Well what is one signature payment in BTC? I can wait a week after the close..
But what if it goes to $300k+? You would have to hodl it now.. ...
I could hodl some satoshis for you if you want..

.01 is fine.  Public arb is fine.
There should be some sort of fee for going to arbitration

Ok fine, best arbitrator gets 5 merits..
Sign it @ .01 and I'll sign it and lets roll..

Ok.  I might not sign it till the weekend though.  Gotta boot my old desktop.

You didn't read the whole thing did you.

Quote
Who’s responsible for errors?

Last week, Baxter told The News 87 optical scanners broke on Election Day. He said many jammed when voters tried repeatedly to stuff single ballots into scanners, which can result in erroneous vote counts if poll workers don’t adjust counters.

“The city is responsible. Janice Winfrey is responsible,” Barrow said. “This didn’t happen because of crazy, dyslexic senior citizens who are working as poll workers, like they want to portray this. That’s people who are trying to deny responsibility.”

He has asserted on social media that Winfrey cost Clinton the election in Michigan.

Others said there could be benign explanations.

Detroit’s ballot was two pages because it included dozens of candidates for the local Board of Education. The number of pages can cause machines to jam and lead them to count too many ballots, said Genesee County Clerk John Gleason.

I did actually. Your quote doesn't offer compelling contrary information. What you have there is the opinion of one man and pure speculation. The part I quoted consisted of facts.

You didn't even read the whole quote did you?

Try reading more slowly, see if you can find find both county clerks and the guy that ran for mayor.

I feel like you have a bad habit of reading the first bit of an article and then just assuming you know what  the entire article says.  Especially if it's something you might not agree with.

It's not actually old.

Well, it needs to be old for me to trust this account has been owned by the same identity for a long time, basically..
That is the point..

Or no loan for you.. (simplified, I'm loaning you .01 so you can pay me .02)

If you don't qualify for a loan then you need to place your bet in escrow.. (A 1+ year zero interest no collateral loan is very generous IMO, very reasonable terms sir)
If you fail that then local rules apply and you can't post in this thread after it covers 11 bets..

Over..

I have a question

I can see why you would believe the outcome makes a difference to suchmoon and eddiee13, this is 0.1 BTC we're talking about Cheesy But you all seem to be behaving as if the outcome of the election itself is actually going to make a meaningful difference to the direction of the USA? Do you really believe it? What substantive reasoning is there for such a belief?

I think an argument could be made that presidents are just sockpuppets anyway and it doesn't really even matter..
Would you like stakes sir Banks?
What size in which direction?

Thanks eddie13 for steering this back on topic, somewhat. This is about the 2020 election and bets. I would have though 3 years was enough to air your grievances over the previous election but apparently not.

someone named SM never properly signed a staked addy but I didn't want to cry

Yeah, I really do believe that the outcome of elections make a difference in the direction of the USA.  Presidents decide which laws are passed, how they're enforced, who enforces them, how our taxes are calculated, how our taxes are used, who we go to war with, who we go to war for, they negotiate trade deals with other countries.  I could go on.

Is 'the president doesn't matter' really a thing?

steering this back on topic
Did I do that? I thought I was just joking around (making up silly local rules and all)..

never properly signed a staked addy
Wait, what? Smiley

You signed https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/18pTKHyCFyr5Gk3LHN4wKke1hUaT3wUnjb
Which is proof of funds, cool..
But I was thinking more along the lines of..
irrefutable proof that you're the actual owner.
Old staked addy, for proof of identity, type of thing..

Pretty common procedure for authorizing deals where their is risk involved, to rule out possible hacked/sold accounts, make sure you are actually dealing with whatever identity you think you trust, and to be able to prove the other party accepted the signed terms incase you have to bust their balls about it in the future by showing the signed message..

But, I'm not suspicious that you are hacked, and I don't think you'll be coming back with "I was haxxored, I didn't agree to that!"..

You don't need to do anything, the deal is done..
I waved this formality in your case, but probably wouldn't for anyone else..

Trump if re elected will have 7 of 9 SC judges picked by him.

Recent events have made it pretty clear that the Dems would 100% let the USA be overrun by illegal immigrants. Trump would/is doing enough that we may only be 50% overran.

We now have a funded Space Force.

So yes, there are substantive differences...

I feel like you have a bad habit of reading the first bit of an article and then just assuming you know what  the entire article says.  Especially if it's something you might not agree with.

I feel like you have a bad habit of imagining shit and projecting, it then imagining it as fact. The article clearly states using factual numbers that the fraud was most abundant in areas where Clinton won. You have fun imagineering and speculating about the cherries you picked.

@suchmoon and @eddie13
Your bet is great and very clear.

My understanding (i read the 5 pages)  is that you haven't put the funds with an escrow (you are both very well know members that won't ruin their reputation for a mere 0.1btc).

However, what happens if one of you guys dies before the 2020 election?
Wouldn't it be better if there was a multisig  2 out of 3 with on escrow in the middle?
Maybe a dead switch with a lack of activity for 45 days.  You guys are posting daily, a 45 days absence would mean something bad happened.
If the winner dies, maybe the loser will want to honor the bet and "help" the family of the defunct.
If the loser dies, maybe the winner will take pity and won't claim the money as a gesture to help the family of the defunct.
Many possible scenarios...
I am sure you can work something out.

Even, what odds would you give on their performing or not performing on their bet?

If the odds and amount are right, maybe I can promise to pay the winner, if the other party flops.

However, what happens if one of you guys dies before the 2020 election?

It's more likely that Bitcoin goes up to $300k and eddie13 will retire to his private island forgetting about a measly 0.1 BTC bet  Grin

Seriously though, I was thinking about setting up a locktime transaction to a trusted third party who could pay out if I happen to die AND lose the bet. Or just set it up to go to eddie13 and hope he returns it to my heir if I win. In some ways this would be more robust than 2-of-3 multisig (fewer third parties).

But that's not particularly high on my priority list. Besides - the chance of me somehow screwing it up and/or forgetting to move the coins if I'm alive is probably higher than me kicking the bucket within a year.

Well, it wouldn't quite be Epstein money to buy a private island and host the Clintons for Adrenochrome harvesting parties, who didn't kill himself by the way, but would be nice..

I'm not a hodler -- I actually ....   so I can't do BTC.

Well what is one signature payment in BTC? I can wait a week after the close..
But what if it goes to $300k+? You would have to hodl it now.. ...
I could hodl some satoshis for you if you want..

OK, you have my word that I would honor this type of deal:

(I'm loaning you .01 so you can pay me .02)

With the same conditions as suchmoon. If Trump wins and I don't honor my repayment of 0.02 BTC everybody has permission to run my ass red. But I will repay because that's what I do.

Hell, let's up the stakes for me: I will pay you 0.025 if Trump wins the election (on suchmoon-based terms), seeing as how you are basically giving me a loan of 0.01 BTC.
