This was the point I was making. What you're describing is tribalism in politics. The reasons people feel inclined that Candidate A would be horrible are not policy based, evident from the Pew Research poll.

I don't consider a rehearsed scripted event a press conference. It is by technicality but the point was Joe Biden hasn't taken questions from the press in a while.

People can vote for who they choose but my point was that the majority of voters voting for Biden citing the reason of "not Trump" is indicative of tribalism in politics that aren't rooted in policy. It's not that they shouldn't vote for Biden.

Seeing as how every Vice President ever has been a white male, I don't think a change-up is necessarily a bad thing. Slipping one non-white female in there doesn't equal "blatant anti-white male bigotry," necessarily. White guys co-piloted the ship for 240 years. The ship isn't doing so well now; I'm open to trying something else. Historically speaking, having a female vice presidential candidate has spelled doom for the party that had them, so consider Harris a statistical blessing.

I'm more interested in how the Electoral College vote will play out anyhow, since we don't actually live in a democracy and the fate of the nation is ultimately decided by a select group of political elite. Here is my "worst case scenario" for the Dems, giving Ohio, Wisconsin and Florida to Trump:



Trump would need to have those 3 states plus one of any other to pull off the V. Other states potentially flippable are:

- Nevada
- Virginia
- Michigan
- Pennsylvania

But for Trump to get any one of those while also still getting Ohio, Wisconsin and Florida... I just don't see it happening. He could get Michigan and Virginia and then lose Florida, and still lose.

Taking pride in shit you were born into is pretty cringeworthy, regardless of who does it. It's like if tall people walked around reminding everyone how awesome it was to be tall, or born into wealth for that matter. It's not very impressive if these things are just handed to you from birth and then you celebrate them as some sort of accomplishment.

Kamala Harris worked far harder in life than you or I ever did to get where she is today. I'm willing to give her a chance. If you're not, then fine, vote for Trump. Not that Trump had many great qualifications to be president -- what's the actual difference between her and Harris, besides the fact that he's a white male?

Praising people simply because other people of that skin tone have made accomplishments before them is just plain nonsense.

I guess you could say incompetence, but I imagine it's a lot easier to get away with fraud when you have several family members participating and many different types of assets and separate companies.  The more complicated the better.

imo the tax evasion and bank fraud aren't nearly as damning as the fact that Trumps entire "I'm a self made super successful business man that turned a small loan into billions" is false. (yes TECSHARE and spendulus, we know, he had success in the 2016 election) That may describe Fred Trump, but not Donald who blew tons of money that was given to him and whenever he got in trouble (often) his father just gave him more, and when his father was near death he took control of everything.

Probably incompetence, but I mean more in regards to like - I highly doubt that the Trumps are the first people to do this (if all of the allegations are true) -- I also doubt that they're going to be the last ones to do so. An excuse to this could be that it is very expensive for NYS DTF and the IRS to go after this, but like, this is where the money is so wouldn't it be a net gain to be doing this and going against the rich people?

I assume that like, not everything they did is illegal and I think it's fair for us to assume that the NY Times did embellish parts of the story to make it seem worse then it really is. But ya know, rich people and doing illegal shit is pretty common.

NY Times have him inheriting around half a billion from his Dad and the real estate empire. He's worth a couple more billion then that now, so I wouldn't say that he's just not successful. Guy did do pretty well for himself throughout the years with his real estate holdings.
