Hello dear members.
I have a problem. I have to travel to another city for about a month. I must get another internet service from another ISP. So, my IP address will definitely be changed. Will my account be banned if I login here with a different IP address?

I have also the same problem with Cryptotalk forum. Do they ban my account too?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

No. That's perfectly fine in Bitcointalk.

I have also the same problem with Cryptotalk forum. Do they ban my account too?
I don't know about this sadly as I haven't read much about Cryptotalk. I know I should know better as one of their advertisers lol duh

No, I'm always changing my IP address, even during sessions and I've never encountered any problem.
Why would a forum ban a user just from changing IP address? Huh

Are you somehow thinking of flagged IP addresses?
It will only be a problem for will-be-registered accounts if the user unluckily used an "evil-IP" upon registration.
But for established members, there's no problem with that.

I think that many users here have dinamic IP address so it's shouldn't be problem,  really.
Every time I restart my router I receive another IP address and I never had problem with login here or received any ban because of different IP address.
So don't worry about it.

As everyone wrote, just changing the IP is not a problem.

The only thing that could bring trouble for you, is if the IP you are going to use, was previously used by someone who got banned on Bitcointalk.

I don't think this is a problem because we can log in to this forum with multiple IP addresses so every time we log in the ID will show our IP differently so this is not a problem. The problem is that the same IP is not used by any other forum Many times we have to face a lot of risks if we go the IP miles or do many tasks with the same Ip Moreover, we can easily change our IP.

The only problem you might have if you use public WiFi, is that the provider may block Bitcoin Talk. I've only found this in one place, and I can't remember where it was. It's easy to get round it, just use the Tor window in the Brave browser.

There are no problems with the BitcoinTalk forum though.

No, you shouldn't have any issues with that. In the  last few months i traveled to other cities and countries and had no issues with that whatsoever.

The only thing that could bring trouble for you, is if the IP you are going to use, was previously used by someone who got banned on Bitcointalk.

I somehow doubt that even that scenario could cause issues (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Alt accounts of previously banned ones have been constantly discovered, so obviously you don't get insta ban if you use same IP that was being used by someone that got banned.

This forum has created by a anonymous person called satoshi nakamoto. And obviously current forum admin also like give you freedom to stay anonymous. So he didn't made any trouble for forum users regarding IP address. But admin made it more simple who are using VPN or Tor browser. Here you may read, Captcha bypass .

I can assure you that you will not face any issue about IP address from forum side. Not sure if your internet provider ban you to use this forum. I had travelled multiple country and I have logged in from different country and ip. I didn't face any issue about it. Still I am usin forum fairly. So stay relax.

There are different rules here and on Cryptotalk forum. IP address change does not matter in this forum.  Cryptotalk does not allow multiple accounts and therefore they monitor the IP and ban the accounts if they come from the same IP. However some people may get disadvantages if they login from office network or public places and might still get ban there.
Luckily, this forum bitcointalk has not any such complications and restrictions.

...
I've been a member of one forum which uses this process to limit the use of multiple accounts, and it wasn't an effective one, IP addresses can get easily mixed up and it could result in the banning of accounts by unique users for being linked.
Changing your IP address wouldn't expose you any further to being tagged a multiple account user, but joining a public WiFi could create a link.

I can understand why cryptotalk will use IP addresses as a filter process to detect multiple accounts, but sharing the same IP is not price of connection, they can carry out further investigation before making any decisions so as not to make the forum unfavorable to users.
An alternative would be having a strict spam detection system, multiple accounts would surely result in lots of low value posts and those should not be rewarded and may even be made to earn one a temp ban.

You can earn here too but with your current rank right now that might be rare to find a paying signature campaign that pays BTC. But as per @acroman08 quoted on the rules of cryptotalk forum it isn't indicated there that having multiple IPs will be ban and does having multiple IPs considered having multiple accounts, I guess not if that so you can create many accounts as long as you have the same IP.

So the problem of having multiple IPs here isn't prohibited and that's solved, I myself admit it since for almost 2 years now I regularly use VPN at the same time my personal WiFi. If you have problem on cryptotalk having multiple IPs I guess it will be good to open up a thread explaining your situation and that might give you a better answer or contact their support.

You might want to test what IP you are getting here:

https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php

And then try to used TOR or VPN and see how it goes for you. But just like the rest of guys are saying here, there's no risk of having multiple IP's.

But as far as Cryptotalk forum, we can't really answer that for you.

This is what I love about Bitcointalk, this is more democratic than any other forum I've joined, yes you can log in in any device and in any IP but it's still recommended if you can to use VPN whenever you log in online especially that you are a traveller, travelling and using various IP, with VPN you are protected from any network hacking.

So sad to hear this because I'm already earning from Cryptotalk and if I move to another place my income will be ruined due to different IP address.   Cry
This is not fair because people can't stay in one place their whole lives!

Don't be so sad...
I didn't meant that you have to keep the same IP for cryptotalk. Also they check from which browser and version are you logging in. So if you really do not have multiple accounts at cryptotalk , you are safe and you do not need to worry about anything.

I switch countries all the time and am often on a VPN.

I've never had any trouble so far and have never been shown the door.

It seems very rare that people report the evil IP thing. I'd be curious to know how common it is.

I presume cryptotalk is waay more paranoid about being gamed so they'll be a lot stricter.

The only problem you might have if you use public WiFi, is that the provider may block Bitcoin Talk.
I would advocate for using a VPN at all times on public WiFis to protect your traffic from prying eyes, and doing so would also unblock any restricted sites.

The only thing that could bring trouble for you, is if the IP you are going to use, was previously used by someone who got banned on Bitcointalk.
I somehow doubt that even that scenario could cause issues (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
You are correct. If you are trying to create a new account from an IP previously associated with a banned account then you will have to pay an evil fee, but once your account is active it is perfectly safe to log in from any IPs, even evil ones.
