Full Member rank above apply for a Member rank slot

I just saw an open member slot on this bounty paid in BTC : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2519710.0. As I am a member rank, I tried to apply there. But I was surprised that not only Full Member and Senior Member, Hero and Legendary members also applied for that Member slot. Guys, do you think something like this normal?

For me, it doesn't really make sense. The ideal condition must be: a member slot is for member ranks. Member ranks above (Full-Legendary) must realize that the slot is not for them.

From what i saw that is pretty much  standard practice in BTC signature campaigns, esecially those that are paying better. While it may seem unfair to some, you have to understand those that are paying for  campaigns- they simply want max exposure for their money, and some high rank member with more visible signature  and better status on the forum might bring them that.

By the way , there are currently 3 BTC signature campaigns that are accepting Member rank(+ Bustadice), you might wanna think about applying to those in case your Bustadice application doesn't go through.

It's absolutely normal and it depends on the manager who he will accept or deny. When a good paying campaign have open slot , users don't mind to give away their high rank position.
What strikes me here is that, being with the community from last 2017, you have not much idea about the culture. May be you don't care much about the culture here?

Yes, as long as it is not stated in the campaign rules that higher ranked members aren't allowed.

So many sr+ members applying for a member slot. If you're willing to accept $25 per week for your sr/hero sig, surely it makes better financial sense for signature campaign managers to keep you at this rate rather than bumping you to the next pay grade... After all, that's better bang per buck for Bustadice.

I suspect @yahoo62278 could save his employers a lot of money if he kept a log of the minimum rates each user would accept, particularly paying attention to those sr+ members looking to secure lower tier slots. Maybe such a system would curtail plans the play the long game, making it impossible for newer users to compete.

I guess it's only natural or common sense to accept a higher rank member with good quality posts for a lower pay rate. More space for signature and probably more "reputable".


Next time you have a question like this about certain campaigns, you should just ask on their main thread and not create a separate topic unless that thread has been locked.

Perfectly normal and has happened so many times before. Even the previous available spot for Member rank in Bustadice campaign was filled by a Sr. Member.

Yeah, I know about it. Bounty managers will consider the reputation and the quality of their posts. And those who have better are many from higher ranks.

Yes, that is normal and every campaign managers have their own decisions and perspective way in selecting participants.
If there is no potential member rank applicant's who applied, managers choose those higher rank than choosing member rank to fill the slot but inactive and probably have spam post.

Let the managers be a manager and I think there is no problem with that as long as the manager's choosing the right one and it is deserving of the slot. (active, reputable, good and regular poster members are deserving to accept).

Probably if you are one of the managers here, you will understand.

You can try doing opposite - if your know that there are no free slots of your rank, there are free spots of higher rank and no one applies for them - try asking BM to take their place, but receive payment as a member

If I'm a CM, I'd sure as hell hire a Legendary that requests for a Member slot over a Member asking for the same thing any day.

Its a normal thing bro ,it depends on the manager who will be the deserving member to complete the participants. Sometimes you should be fast so that you will be reviewed by the manager.

Op is referring one of yahoo62278 campaign, I have seen higher rank users apply there. But they are not preventing you from apply there. I have seen previously yahoo62278 pick appropriate rank if there is quality poster in required rank. So if you are a high quality poster you should not worry. Since it's a high payment campaign that's why even higher rank users applying there and it's not against forum rules or campaign rules.

I also face same issue on my campaign, but I pick quality poster even this is appropriate or higher rank. I won't accept Legendary as a member pay rate if the poster isn't a good poster.

So don't worry about who are applying there. Managers will not give them priority just for their rank if they are spammer.

From what I've observed on the forum, campaign managers try their best to fill open slots with those on the appropriate ranks, and I think they give more considerations to those applying for a slot on the appropriate rank needed.

But many times they may be left with no choice when those applying with the correct ranks are not good posters and are not qualified to fill the position, so they don't start spamming when the get into the campaign, the only wise thing they can do is to fill the positions with higher ranked members, not with lower ranked members, for example a full member cannot fill a senior member spot.

So do not complain, if you do not want a higher ranked member to fill slots for your rank on a campaign, improve on your post quality.

True. Money is like sugar, normal people must be interested. As long as they have the possibility to join, they won't miss a chance to apply.

Good advice. It seems like the OP has understood enough about that question.

I know you are a manager, and every campaign manager has the capacity to judge who is suitable to fill the empty slots in the campaign he manages and even accept Legendaries to fill slot members, and that is normal.

It doesn't make sense, buddy. Lower ranks cannot fulfill the requirement of the ranks that are needed. For example, a campaign needs 5x Full members, 5x Sr members, and 5x Hero/Legend members. The bounty manager mustn't consider member ranks or Junior members since it is clearly seen full members above. And I believe that will be no member or junior ranks to apply there.

I don't see anything wrong on that, in fact I myself applied for full member slot even though I am already a senior member and there are hero and legendary that also applies for lower rank, it's the manager's discretion if they will accept you or not, bounty manager looks for good posters regardless of the rank.

Its depend on rank, only Hero and Legendary ranks signature code is same. So for other rank you can't wear signature if it's for higher ranks from your current rank. But sometimes managers could adjust spot accordingly. For example when I had joined Bitsler, there was only open Legendary spot. So unfortunately my ranks were Hero. But after sometimes manager announced if there is no quality Legendary member then he might pick Hero member as well (obviously pay rate different). So I applied there  and get accepted. But you can't expect Legendary rate for that.

On the other hand, before few days there was 2 full member open spot on my campaign. But unfortunately I didn't find good participants. So what I did,I closed full member spot and open 1 Sr. Member spot instead. And I accept a Hero member as a Sr. Member pay rate since there were no enough quality posters from Sr. Member. And I inform the company and they allow me to do it.

You can't expect high pay rate ranks from your current rate. But you may apply for low rank payments. Applying for higher ranks from your current ranks isn't appropriate unless manager announce new spot.
