Google has banned Ethereum (ETH) wallet and decentralized app (DApp) browser Metamask’s android client from its Play app store.

The MetaMask team took to Twitter on Dec. 26, where they announced that Google had suspended MetaMask’s android client from Google Play’s app store, claiming MetaMask was in violation of Google’s financial services policies.

Google might also want to maintain the security and comfort of all their users, at least we must respect and not consider this as a reference to accompany opinions that Google seems to forbid anything about crypto, hopefully this case can be resolved well in the future, me too users of the Metamask wallet in the Chrome browser and that's not a problem at all, if indeed Google has a problem with crypto it should not only ban it in PlayStore but also forbid their plugins in the Chrome browser

Well according to the article it appears meta mask has violate the Google financial service policies, you don't expect those who violate policies to go unpunished, you make it sound like they where ban without a reason, i guess people should do things according to what is specified, and for the good of the many users of this app, i hope both parties can come to a resolution, after what is already happening with Youtube it won't be good to have Google do same.

we can not blame them completely, they wanted to protect their users from the crypto scammer. they are so many reports happening about someone hacking their asset from their mobile wallet, reports from users made them think it should be better to ban crypto-related app on their playstore because it can protect their users from hacker or scammer.
this is just a beginning, there will be more with the same reason even though it has been there for months or years.

There are already questions raised against these steps that are disadvantageous to cryptocurrency. But at the end of the day, Google is its own company that sets its own rules. Therefore, it will implement whatever rule or policy it has. If in the future it decides to change its rule a little to accommodate the growing demand for crypto-related videos or applications, for as long as these videos and applications are not scams, it may do so. And I hope it is the exact way Google will decide to take.

It looks like if this is all caused by the fraud that already happened before, google was removing the whole things related to the cryptocurrency that still available on its platforms. I just take this still related to the ban hammed that already issued by youtube to all of crypto related videos.
We must make own way by use alternative platform.
Just never try to use google again and that makes me feel better because we can stand without need the help from the centralized platforms. but, when can we do that?

I think security and protection for its users is their main purpose behind this, it will indeed have an impact on crypto, but this will not affect everyone interest in crypto. We see, if google continues to take action to suspend crypto into their other platforms, then this action will harm themselves.

After Youtube now Google, it seems they are closing their territory and maintaining their stand on security aspect. Cryptocurrency is moving forward but these firms are keeping a huge fud on their decision about being involved. About the problem I am waiting for official statement why they did this because the app worked perfectly and it came from official source, so how it could be dangerous?

The only alternative for MetaMask app is MyEtherWallet app right? But also there are some websites that requires strictly MetaMask app, so it could be very annoying for Ethereum users that they were not be able to access DAPP websites.

But how about the metamask under their chrome browser? I can still access the wallet on the chrome?

I don't think it's worth enough to trust their decisions, because this could be some bad moves for other group who spreads FUD. Hopefully there's something that could support the idea before it's too late, most users like me was very much affected. This fears my asset being enlisted with google browser add on, it might be not safe nowadays.

I am surprised by all this. Between google, facebook and youtube these days hated crypto. Maybe it's because we have received more complaints and facts today. Maybe everything comes from ICO scams that use the smart-contract platform from ethereum, so many people hate crypto. Maybe the ban on YouTube is because of the rampant fraud or ponzi schemes that are carried out by crypto YouTubers so that YouTube forbids it.
But for Metamask, I don't know yet what happened. The chronology will read several articles and want to be clear about the news that is happening now.
