Just posting this topic as a friendly warning. There is someone pretending to be Minerjones (username: @MinerJohes) on Telegram and trying to sell you coins (without using escrow). When in doubt, send Minerjones a PM instead. Stay safe!

There is a lot of impersonator of reputed members. No one should make any deal without becoming confirmed on bitcointalk. I am a new member but I have already faced several impersonators. Also impersonator of Minerjones too. Minerjones then gave negative trust to the impersonator.

The spammers are getting higher level, there are many other peoples pretending to be Minerjones.

I came across a whole fake channel promoting the fake escrow.

Fake Telegram channel handle: @minerjoness

Spammer telegram handle: @minerjohes

While Minerjones real telegram handle is @minerjones.

It is wise to ask PGP or signed bitcoin address before dealing with any reputed member in any other platform. Even in the forum asking for PGP or signed message from the used staked bitcoin address should not be hesitated.

This is a common practice by the impersonators to scam people. Thanks for sharing TheNewAnon135246

Yeah for anyone new it is unfortunately common to happen.  If you make a deal on one platform with a supposed member be careful jumping to another platform to complete the deal.  Another good way is if the op of a sale has an address to pay but give you a different address via pm always verify first before blindly sending.  Be vigilant!

Always make sure you’re not dealing with an imposter. You can confirm the username by going to the profile on telegram, as shown in the picture below, or (as mentioned above) by requesting a pm on the forum and crosschecking the trust.

Bunch of scumbags out there, thank you for the warning Anon.

I've had a few people do the same under my name, I had a couple of people PM me on here asking if it was really me on Telegram as they were about to enter a deal for several BTC..
