No need to be a stupid troll about it, its obviously a hastily setup on the cheap farm with dodgy wiring. Once an electrical fire starts like that in that sort of setup there is no stopping it.

Could have been caused by any number of reasons. And has zero to do with the SP20 seeing as all of those machines are SP30 

Dumbfck i know full well they're SP30. Its not uncommon for the fire to start from PSU. It happened to several ppl back in GPU days.

Well, he (cowboyminer) says that he had 3 buildings burned down.
However, even 5mw is "just" ~7Ph or 2.3% of the network. The dip is something else or he had another 10 buildings that he switched off.
Regardless, it is a major upset for these guys.

5MW is about 1,666 Sp30  5000000/3000 = 1666
Each machine only made about 5BTC so far for a total 8330 BTC worth only: $3.5million
However, 1666 SP30 cost: 7.5 million.  probably with a .5Million volume discount..
Total loss: at least 2.5 Million
You could buy another nice house for that much.

It had a lot of praise at the initial setup-did not look horrible at all. You cannot look at the wreck of a BMW and say: gosh, what a s#$@y car!

It was a cowboy DC though, no reputable DC would rack them at those density levels. They were asking for trouble. Plus the entire thing most probably including the wiring was done all on the cheap to maximise profitability. They just took it too far in the density stakes and overloaded their wiring it looks like.

I wrote it before - source of the fire is yet unknown.
Arson wasn't ruled out. AFAIK, no insurance.

Sad story, good people. Very bad luck with mining. It's not the first mishap.
I've visited their facility when they had only SP10 and Dragons. I was impressed.

I bet the fire started in their electrical infrastructure -- transformer, distribution panel, etc -- not in a power supply or a miner. There's not much flammable material inside a miner. However, they may have installed a transformer near to a wood wall, then overloaded the transformer or wired it up without adequate fuse protection.

A quick calculation shows they load 600kg per shelf.   pure stupidity
