Hey everyone!

I'm holding a contest for people to create and submit a logo design for the next Carbon Chamaeleon release.  Whoever wins will win a a set of loaded Boron Butterfly notes (serial # of their choosing) and the chance to be included on the next Carbon Series note if I like the design enough (chances are I will though ).  I will hold a poll on either twitter/here (haven't decided what would be best yet) for people to vote on the best logo design.

I have.  He is offering the winner a set of notes and the possibility to even be on the product itself.  Am I missing something?  I dont think the OP is devious. 

In the small little niche we sit in here I support possibly introducing our market to people who otherwise wouldn't see us here.

If an artist doesnt feel a set of these loaded notes is worth their time then they dont have to do it, right?  All contests are time driven, resource dependent in some way this is no different

I tried to put M and Chamaeleon together for hours to create a custom logo for you but I was unable to do so. Sorry man. I am out.

Its not a free contest, it is dirt cheap/free labor and is destructive to the design workers. Don't participate in speculative work. If your boss says come to work tomorrow, but only one of you and your coworkers got paid, how long would you show up? This method is exploitative.

Theymos just ran a design contest for the 10 year btctalk birthday, was he exploiting everyone.  I guess I just dont get it, think the op is having a little fun and knowing him personally, I know he doesnt have bad intentions i think you are just looking at this from the wrong angle.

Um, this contest is designed to be fun for people in the collectibles community and/or Monero community in general... not "exploitative"?

Also this project of mine is meant to be run as a non-for-profit.  The "Boron Series" was meant to be kept secret and as a 'surprise' in a way.  The start up for the project was funded with my money, and I worked with Danielle and Adam to create the first run of notes with their help, and all of the profits (which I am still way in the hole on) was meant to recoup the funds I had put into the project.  You can read more about that whole aspect of it in the third paragraph of the ANN thread here

This 'Carbon Series' is meant to generate enough profits to 1) fund another set of future notes for the next biannual hardfork; and 2) profits will go towards the general development fund where you can see at the bottom of this page here.

I mean I kind of guess I can see where you are coming from if I was in this project as a for-profit venture, but I'm not.  Feel free to criticize me all you want here.  However I can't help that it makes you look like a dick and some people will probably give you flack for that.

I'm no designer, I would of made the chameleon in M form then the tail making the coin side from the mid to upper mid.  If anyone likes just do it id love to see how it looks.

Well done, and yeah even though we maybe are looking for a clear “logo” for this, I like it anyways . You got the general theme we are looking at maybe designing for the new one.

Lots of cool stuff in plan for the next release though. You guys who are fans of polymerbit’s style of (newer) work will really like how we are planning for them to turn out.

First of all - Thanks to @phishead for hosting this little art competition. I love the opportunity to be involved with really cool ideas and projects that people on the forum have.

I have two entries to offer, if only one is allowed I will gladly retract one submission. I realized after completing #1 that for the Spesmonerujo Notes "chamaeleon" was spelled with an "a" representative of the southern hemisphere constellation. So I started over and made #2 as well. I had fun drawing these and hope others like them as well. Let me know what you think!

Thanks @phishead for host this art competition. I have tried many times to find the good idea to make the best logo. I love art, love design, this competition make me excited to join it. I create it by mixing the doodle art with the monero logo. Here's my art
