The Chinese attack is arriving hehehe. We are already witnessing the beginning of its occurrence with Changpeng Zhao and Justin Sun's purchases of popular websites, exchanges and blockchain businesses.

In any case, did anyone pay for theblock subscription? Share the paid analysis please hehehe. Thank you.

Tencent and its affiliates filed for 718 blockchain patents out of a total of over 5,800, while Alibaba Group filed 470. Together, they accounted for over 20% of the total.

Tencent and Alibaba were followed by WeBank, Ruize Technology, and Ant Financial, in that particular order - and all these three companies are also based in China.

Overall, about 63% of firms with over 20 blockchain patent filings are based in China. The U.S. follows next. It is worth noting that while 2019 saw over 5,800 patent applications, only 3% of them were granted in the same year.

This is not surprising really.

I remember Mark Z. was saying something like China is taking over the blockchain industry when Facebook/Libra was being questioned by US Congress.

Jack Ma, before he retired as Alibaba CEO, has also been very open that they are interested in blockchain technology.

The Chinese attack is arriving hehehe. We are already witnessing the beginning of its occurrence with Changpeng Zhao and Justin Sun's purchases of popular websites, exchanges and blockchain businesses.
I'm not sure what you are trying to imply here but they, being Chinese businessmen, might have gotten information that we aren't aware yet.

In any case, did anyone pay for theblock subscription? Share the paid analysis please hehehe. Thank you.
I tried to look over the net but no luck. Everything leads to subscribing  Grin

This story was also covered by yahoo by the way. Some feedback in there were hilarious and encouraging.

@Bttzed03. I am not implying, we have to see that it is very clear that those blockchain patents might be an attack on the cryptospace. Many of them will be patent trolls that would stop innovation and many of those patents might also be used to control development. Is that not an attack?
