I wanted to discuss about todays games in English FA Cup 3rd round but there is no dedicated thread so I created one. I didn't want to interrupt debate in Premier League thread.

In 2019, Manchester City won both English cup tournaments, let's see which team will do it this year and let's make some money pn the way

Round 3 of FA Cup finished. Man United and Cardiff won today and secured spot in 4th round.



Here are the fourth round fixtures:

I think that all the big teams of the Premier League are in so far which is expected but what is not expected is that many teams from the lower divisions have come this far like Oxford United and Shrewsbury together with some others.This cup should be a good betting source for making some extra money.

Aggregate 3-1 is led by Manchester City and the match now playing on the Etihad field will certainly be an opportunity for Manchester Cup champions Carabao again in this 2020 season.
Maybe Pep Guardiola's target to win this championship is because it is not possible to pursue the EPL.

Probably it's good idea to create separate topic for Cup games, because previously it was discussed in EPL threads. Early FA Cup rounds aren't very exciting because big teams usually face lower division clubs, or these small clubs playing against each other. And there wasn't huge sensations so far this year and all non-league clubs are eliminated already.

Maybe Pep Guardiola's target to win this championship is because it is not possible to pursue the EPL.

I doubt that they really cares about EFL club because it's least important trophy and EPL clubs aren't playing with their main squads. EPL trophy for City looks almost impossible, so now they have to focus on Champions league.

Pep will target the FA cup because that’s a realistic target, and it’s pertinent to note that there’s not much competition in the FA cup therefore Manchester City should easily win it. The main title expected by Pep is the FA CUP and after that Pep will focus more on UCL, even though there are many teams that are more powerful than Manchester City, but is it not possible for Pep because he once raised the UCL Trophy with Barcelona maybe this season Manchester City can lift the trophy fits their target.

Tranmere leading 1-0 to Watford, half time. Looks like one Premier League club going out of the cup.

Tomorrow:
QPR - Sheffield Wednesday; clear choice QPR for me. Both teams defeated Leeds recently but Sheffield lost badly to Blackburn on Saturday so mentally this match will be difficult for them.
Northampton - Derby County; Derby is two leagues above Northampton, the quality difference is significant. Derby @1.80 (some bookies 1.85) is a good bet.

Although there is one league gap between the teams, I think this will be a difficult task for Sheffield. Especially at home, Millwall is a respected team. Only two defeats in 14 home games in Championship speaks for itself. Sheffield is doing surprisingly well in PL, but they are not scoring often lately. My pick is Under 2.5 goals @1.59

They should give chance to other teams to win this year, but if the performance is consistent and stable; no wonder the probability of winning will come. If League one team could defeat City, it would be the historical event for their efforts in winning for the finals. Hopefully, the results is going to be fair and smooth for their future games.

As far as Manchester United is concerned City have already gone to the finals and it doest look pretty for anyone who's going to face them, Aston Villa and Leicester City are all not going to be a problem for them but with the FA CUP it's still early . Manchester City are at least guaranteed the Carabao Cup this season.

United need to score first. So that can happen. But I doubt it with the lineup they have. No established goalscorer BUT if they put pressure on the the City backline they can have freekicks or even penalties almost for sure.

Another reason Solksjaer is at fault is mainly because he let some attacking players like Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez leave without replacing any of them which is really unreasonable.  Now our attack is lacking it's potency and I will say toothless especially with Rashford currently injured.

I do not think it was ole fault that players were not replaced, but I felt he failed to convince lukaku to stay,

Sanchez was a good riddance,
The injury to rashford was new, then it was decided he fixes existing and new injury together for a fitter rashford.

It's gonna be poor vs good performance till the end of the season. Don't get your hopes high

the first goal that Manchester united scored must have shaken the tranmere team psychologically, and then Manchester United scored the second goal (man I blame the tranmere goalkeeper) and third goal that the manchester united Scored was also the fault of the tranmere goalkeeper, the stance he made to avoid the goal was a real joke, even the Manchester united coach (Solskjær) laughed of the situation and it was visible the face of disappointment of the coach of the tranmere. The fourth goal was also the fault of the goalkeeper and a little of the fault was of the defenders of the tranmere. About the fifth goal, It was a joke that the goalkeeper of the tranmere did it again, was badly positioned and lacked attention... (Alex ferguson show his happiness in this game)

I think even smaller teams are trying their best in order to advance and win the FA or EFL cup.Shrewsbury played very well yesterday against Liverpool but Liverpool took the game easily as the draw will be replayed.I see good grief from Southampton too which didn’t lose to a strong team like Tottenham.

Jubilant Aston Villa fans poured into the pitch after the match, the stewards just had to forcefully whisk players off the pitch. I had never witnessed such a thing before at this level of football

It was really good game. Leicester can blame only themselves that they wasted so many moments. Actually, Villa won against youth Liverpool team previously. I would have preferred Leicester in the final, but Villa probably deserved it.
And pitch invasion was nice. I've seen similar few days ago after Shewsbury - Liverpool game. And it happens often when team wins Championship and promotion to EPL.

Knowing Pep Guardiola very well, he will definitely rest some first team players. Indeed, the 1.3 odd isn't worth it. Maybe you can do live betting when the match is already underway.

This is an amazing surprise Aston Villa was able to win Leicester with a score of 2-1 and the goal created in the 90 + 3 minutes is really painful for Leicester.
Now just waiting for Manccity vs Manunited which is superior I will see this match later tonight.

Leicester should have won this that's for sure. But they messed around in the 1st leg and now Aston Villa are in the finals, dreaming of a cup, well good for them.

And all this happened because Liverpool let them through, in my mind. Aston Villa went through because they played kids, and they got through again because Leicester took them for granted.

What is your prediction for the next match Liverpool's home game against Shrewsbury Town, Forget the last match's result, Liverpool will surely win and they will crash Shrewsbury because of the recent performance of Liverpool, It's only a single match and if Liverpool will win then they will face Chelsea at the next stage, I hope Chelsea will show a different level football and the blues will be the winner against Liverpool? if Chelsea will beat Liverpool then it will not be a surprising issue because, in this FA Cup, Chelsea's record is nearly better than Liverpool so I want to see Chelsea in the Final.

I believe that City didn't try enough in this game as they have the safety of 3-1 from the first match.

Derby vs United game ended in the favor of united as Luke Shaw opened the scoring at the 33rd minutes with a spectacular strike (probably ) while Ighalo stole the show by netting twice, one each in both half at the 41st and 70th minute respectively to end the game 3-0. Today The first match of the quarter finals will be played, with Norwich City @ home against Manchester United. I see this as a straight forward victory for Manchester United with the team scoring atleast 3 goals. A goal for Ighalo, and 1 for lingard.

Also I had forgotten that Lingard exists in this squad (sarcasm) as he’s had a terrible season, and partially you may right that Ighalo may be able to score tonight, but Lingard I’m highly doubtful that he’ll be able to score in this fixture.

And here is the quarter final draw for the fa cup: Manchester City will play Newcastle, Chelsea face Leicester City, Arsenal battle it out with Sheffield United and Manchester United or derby county will lock horns with Norwich fc, depending on who wins in their game today.

The next round after this, that's the semi final looks to be promising if City, Manchester United(if they defeat derby county), Arsenal and Chelsea all make it past their respective quarter final opponents, I'm sure the FA would be praying for that, as it would definitely be an "all big team encounter" in the final.

That is the beauty of the FA CUP, knock outs, big team upsets and the flare and excitement that comes with it

I feel very bad for the spurs team, they find it hard to hang on to victories lately, and their attack is thoroughly blunt too.

Yes i agree with you, the Facup and Europa are Oles chances of making a statement this season. From the looks of it, it should be an attack of lingard james and ighalo. For unknown reaosns Solskjaer seems to be a big fan of lingard lol.

I think the Norwich performance should be very much expected, when you field 8 changes into an XI especially after about 100 days without football, you cannot expect any fluency at all. Which was the case for Lingard, Dalot, Mata, Fred, Bailly and even Ighalo; their performances were sloppy and there was no team cohesion.

Ole's rebuild is the best Manchester United has witnessed since Fergie retirement; No egos, and exodus of lesser quality players; The best is yet to come i suppose.

Manchester united still got some lots of improvements after Fergie left, what will you say about Arsenal? There is no sign of improvement, Arsenal is now struggling to qualify for Europa cup spot, they even struggle to win Sheffield United today in the FA cup, a club that Wenger will use feeders team and still win convincingly

Norwich were being so bad it was embarassing to see Manchester United could not take full advantage. But who am I to say my team did not make it this far so kudos to all those who got through.

Man United played not so bad actually. Norwich was playing sooo defensively with 8-9 players in penalty box once MU players getting the ball. And dont forget to give credit to Krul. With the defenders Norwich have currently, they would conceded much more goals if it's not Krul as their goalkeeper.

It's so frustrating for Man United players when they were trying hardly to score, even Solskjaer had to replace Bailly with Martial. Like the commentator said, Norwich played nothing to lose. It's still far away to make MU as great as Fergie's era, but seems they are on the right track right now. Duo Bruno and Pogba is very promising so far, and Maguire really gives a lot difference since he arrived.

Statistically, Chelsea has bigger chance to win, but Man United always give big surprise every time they play big team. With Arsenal vs Man City in the other match, it's the best FA Cup's semi final drawing in few last years imo.

@amprere if Chelsea win this fixture then it’ll be a dream ending for Lampard, who has successfully brought Chelsea to the finals without buying a single player this season, but then again nothing is guaranteed in football. Also Arsenal will be more motivated to win this final, because it’s the only way they’ll be able to play in Europa League next season, and earn that extra income that comes with playing in the Europa League.

Arteta sides are fully prepared despite the fact that most players are injured, its just a matter of planning, determination and team work to have at least a trophy this season. Arsenal looses their normal fourth place position for the last three seasons will eventuality give players a good sense of humor at today's final with the blues, I expect Gunners to do with do wonders today scoring +2 goals.

Arsenal was really solid today as Chelsea barely had any scoring chances but if felt bad for Arsenal fans that they found this great shape only in the last games of the EPL but I guess they will be happy with FA Cup and holding the record for all time winners.
