About 2 days ago, I made a thread encouraging us all to "Promote bitcoin....... It is for "us". I actually do my best to promote the platform and even about 10 mins ago, I helped someone sign up here on the BTT forum (I'll be tutoring him too).

However, on the thread I made lately, someone made a comment that inspired me more. Actually, I've always aspired to promote bitcoin in a bigger way (irrespective of the unavailable funds); by offering some services the average citizen of any country needs and requiring bitcoin as a means of payment. Or making people offer services and get paid in bitcoin.
Anything else is cool. I just want to hear your opinion. Someone else will need it too.

Most times we have these ideas deep down in us but we tend to hold it but we forget that speaking up is also a way of promoting bitcoin.

If you just want to promote bitcoin then fo as you can specially to the people who doesn't know what is bitcoin and blockchain. But you should at least tell them the pros and cons of having a bitcoin because it's just too risky for someone who doesn't have a single knowledge about of the bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
I don't think people will have to pay someone if they really want to know something nowadays because internet is the main source of most of the information that we have to know.

It is a good idea but it cannot be applied in all countries. I assume it can be applied only in some countries that most of the citizens know well Bitcoin and the government support it. While in some countries, like my country, I doubt we can offer it since Bitcoin can be used only for a digital asset, so people can't use it as a payment tool in daily life. In this case, I think they probably tend not to be interested in it.

You are correct not all countries support the idea of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I feel that is one of the biggest hindrance in promoting Bitcoin. Almost all third world countries have banned or placed restriction on the use of Bitcoin.

In my opinion mobile phones have become a necessity of every human being but, I have not seen any website that offers mobile phone for Bitcoin.

I do this a lot of times already, just to encourage people from getting their sights to Bitcoin. In our country we have this exchange sight called Coins.ph where you can make a lot of transactions like paying bills and loading prepaid credits to our mobile phones. Prepaid is a big business here in our country and its a good jump of point to introduce newbies to use the exchange site. The usual follow up question is how to earn BTC. If they have skills, I tell them to ask for a payment in Bitcoin using that exchange site.

Like you said, the internet has vast source of information. People can easily google stuffs and get what they really looking for. But, yeah due to vast information  it is really hard to know which of those information is legit on the internet and which of those are just lies/wrong/fake. That is why you still need peoples help when researching and analyzing. At least they can point out the exact place to find out what they were looking for.

Correct me if I am wrong but the main idea you have sounds like Fiverr or any gigs site for that matter. And personally, I have been thinking of the same because if we can have a platform where people can be earning Bitcoin in exchange for doing something (tasks) online then we can definitely spread the good news of this cryptocurrency and we can jumpstart the Bitcoin economy for the better. We actually need this one and the idea had been taken already by some projects before but sad to say not one of them succeeded and I think almost all of them are now dead. I really don't know why but maybe because of the problem of demand.

In a recent conference on food products for the promotion purpose everyone who serve to be the organising authority were asked to add product related videos and images to whatsapp, Facebook and Instagram status. Same as that if we regularly give some information related to cryptocurrency automatically people in our contact will get to know something about cryptocurrencies and they'll also try knowing more about it.

i believe most of us came from this mate(not those who have self found Bitcoin over internet and learned everything from that without mentors)but all of us?has this same experience when people around us encourage us to learn this one,they even spend most times just lecturing us on how we can benefits about this and how we can also earn from bounties here so basically?this is how we can help the Community and bitcoin by spreading words to our close one.

Really anything you can do for BTC supports it. If you buy it, that's great. If you buy it and actually use it, even better. If you can start a business or develop products around it and increase the use cases for society, then that's fantastic. At that point you are literally devoting your every day's hours to helping Bitcoin succeed.

With that business thing said, work in an area that you know well. I personally come from a gambling background so I helped start MintDice, a Bitcoin casino. But doing something similar may not be a good idea for you, if for instance, you know nothing about gambling but know a lot about books and book sales. In that case, maybe start a business around book sales + btc. Or reading and btc. There's 100 different angles you could take just within the scope of books and btc.

So asking for the public to give you an idea isn't really the best way of going about it, think about your own strengths and experiences and what you can best move forward with.

I don't have a business so I cannot be contributing to the growth of Bitcoin by accepting Bitcoin as payment. In terms of salaries in Bitcoin, that is not possible as well because the country where I am working right now does not have that policy yet. In other words, it is not yet acknowledged that companies may pay their employee's salaries in Bitcoin. I am limited to spending Bitcoin in online transactions and being open to my friends about it. Many of my friends are not here in this forum but they are still curious and hungry in terms of Bitcoin knowledge. I have a little and I make sure I am sharing them to at least make them more interested. Many of them are already buying little by little.

Promoting bitcoin is great, and kudos to you for wanting to promote it, but in all seriousness, you don't need to try so hard. In my opinion, it's just going to be very difficult to convince people on how important bitcoin is, and that people would realize on their own the importance of bitcoin when they need it in times of economic uncertainty à la Venezuelan hyperinflation(but let's not hope for economic crises). Most country's economies are really just currently doing fine that they'll see bitcoin as something unnecessary.

I always think that involving Bitcoin in film and television industries can be the best move and it will be the best source of promoting Bitcoin as well suppose if we have a film making and television series platform where Bitcoin is the only payment option for investment in film projects, television series, artist get paid for their services in Bitcoins so that will be one of the revolutionary platform and it will increase the popularity of Bitcoin as well hopefully big film and television production and distribution companies will be involve in this concept in near future because without their support and involvement it can't be possible.

Probably a better way to promote bitcoin is by means for providing salary in it, or to provide gifts using it. People might now want to enter bitcoin market by themselves, most of the time, they just need a little push from us, being a mediator to introduce cryptocurrency to them. Some ways is to give free cryptos to them and teach them how to use it, airdrops and bounties will not do because these are mainly for others who already been involved to crypto, but to give free bitcoin is a good example of it.

One of the best way to promote a product/commodity/asset is blogging as internet has change the world works. Advertising has been more easy and accessible to anyone in the world.
I've recently come to know that more people's keyword searches is "Bitcoin", more are searching the web for Bitcoin or crypto. So blogging is the best promotion for me.

I totally agree. When people promote bitcoin in general, from my own experience, they're always talking about investing it or speculating on it. How it can make so much money in such a short time and all that. But nothing helps bitcoin more than to actually use it! It doesn't have to be so creative even. Just if anyone ever asks for payment you say, hey do you use bitcoin? I can pay you in btc!

I always search for bitcoin information, always do a search on Google because for me it is easy and very available with new news, but if it cannot be understood by us then I will ask in this forum and indeed in this forum there are many benefits to many people who know about what we ask is that this can also be part of the promotion in my opinion because many people talk about bitcoin.

One big problem with physical shops that accept Bitcoin is that their staff (cashiers esp) can sometimes be poorly trained in how to actually use Bitcoin to accept payments.

The Arnhem Bitcoin City guys have a really effective way to keep people motivated -- when they spend, they offer to tip extra, so then this motivates the cashiers/waiters etc to learn how to use it and remind people they have that option to pay.

For me, as a freelancer, I had to convince my employers to pay me in crypto. When I started out, I had still a lot paying in Paypal. How did I convince them? I offered 5% discounts on invoices for crypto payments. I never convinced all of them but it got to a point I only had a couple left, with non-regular work, so I told them I could no longer take assignments from them if they paid in PP.

One switched just to keep me =) The other, we parted in a good way. But end result is, I converted clients, and those I couldn't saw a changing world, and I'm now earning 100% in crypto! I don't even offer paypal as a method anymore!

I think that has been done by many other people. many people who want to promote bitcoin with the business they develop, one of which is an exchanger. by getting people interested, they unknowingly open the service so their clients can change their fiat into bitcoin. they did it in order to make new people apply how to use bitcoin.

The problem is about regulation, if crypto is legal we can choose many ways to promote crypto without get banned. I do agree with you and that is actually the most powerful way of spreading a word today. Social media become more powerful nowadays that can be use without money. Well promoting bitcoin to social media has really a big impact because lot of people are exposed now with it. In fact most of the time they used always their cellphones and computer just to go different social medias like facebook and twitters.  I suggest to promote bitcoin as well through verbal by sharing it to our friends and family. I think with just using bitcoin in our everyday transaction is already a big help in influencing bitcoin to the community. If there are a lot of restaurant or services that are accepting bitcoin as a payment for sure a lot of people in the community is going to be curious about it if they don't have any knowledge about it influencing them about bitcoin and it also helps us the is already have the knowledge in bitcoin, we could also use our bitcoin to pay for that certain product or that service.

Agree, a lot of people in the community or in the rural areas are not really exposed to technology but for sure they have an education if we could implement to teach them blockchain technology or cryptocurrency for sure a lot of people will be influenced.

Bitcoin promotions best work for those who are influential and have a lot of  followers. It's easier to promote Bitcoin that way. But as a regular/normal person, what I can do to promote Bitcoin is by introducing it to other people just how like most of us do. Referring it to other people so they can get idea that these things actually exist. If you don't have a business, then someone you know who has a business, tell them to start accepting Bitcoin because it can gain attention.

So you think the average Joe Shmoe,who had never used bitcoin in his life,will register an account at Coinbase(for example) buy some bitcoins,wait for 2 weeks for the bitcoins to arrive at his wallet and pay for some online service(without any refund option)?Nope,using fiat is still way more convenient...

I personally want to build an industry in the service sector, specifically to wash clothes that are applied with a digital system. maybe I have so far built a prototype about this application, but to use bitcoin as payment will be difficult in my country, because there has not been a permit for mass use of bitcoin.

Yep, experience is the best teacher as what they say. Making them invest by means of showing them how much they can potentially earn pretty mch sounds like an ad but it's a working advertisement for all I care. As for me, it's best to promote bitcoin's cutting edge against fiat and how they can benefit from using it, probably in the near future when it's much more accessible to people than letting them know of how profitable bitcoin is which could lead them thinking it's a get-rich scheme.

I like the idea about promoting bitcoin because no one will really invest in a real marketing campaign for it. So, it's in the users' hands to promote it. And my favorite way to do it is with giveaways.

I have done some giveaways in the Spanish section in the past as way of promotion, and it had some nice results, I hope to be able to do more of them this year.

I don't think it is the best. We all know many people think Bitcoin is a store of value, which the value will be increasing by time. So, people might not willing to buy things with Bitcoin cause they believe the bitcoin they are holding will be very valuable in the future, there will be less spending then. Ideally the shop should have bitcoin payment integrated in its billing. Maybe the amount expressed in bitcoin and the shop's wallet address, then the customer broadcasts the transaction (by scanning the qrcode for the address and sending the written amount). Same way the likes if bitpay can tell when a broadcast is made and release even before 1 confirmation, it is definitely possible. You could have a waiting room for people to wait for 1 confirmation if you don't trust your customers (or perhaps for larger amounts).

Promoting bitcoin to my friends and relatives is also what i'm doing but it really takes a longer time for them to fully understand about bitcoin. I can't simply encourage them to invest and use bitcoin as a payment system because they need more education first about bitcoin. Promoting Bitcoin is a great idea. In this digital world people get all information in Google, YouTube etc along with that there should be an experinced person to guide in bitcoin because there are so many scam sites and projects which would be difficult to handle for Newbie.

be careful using social medias to promote bitcoin because social medias now were strict or now putting strict measure against bitcoin or on almost anything related to crypto . like what happen to me on the past were my twitter account got banned and post on facebook were deleted and my account was also restricted  . same thing happening on youtube lately were crypto videos are deleted for now clear reason  but eventually youtube release a statement about this matter and they said its thier fault   .

In my opinion, it's just going to be very difficult to convince people on how important bitcoin is, and that people would realize on their own the importance of bitcoin when they need it in times of economic uncertainty à la Venezuelan hyperinflation(but let's not hope for economic crises). Most country's economies are really just currently doing fine that they'll see bitcoin as something unnecessary.

Ideally the shop should have bitcoin payment integrated in its billing. Bitcoin is still under development phase. Everyday we encounter various issues related to bitcoin like scalability, block size, number of transactions a block can process, block timing, etc. Due to which, bitcoin community reaching new consensus every year to make bitcoin more functional. Lightning network is current solution which have potential to make bitcoin more accessible. But until LT really become famous, we are still stick to current form of bitcoin transaction.

Thus, it is wrong to expect something which is still under-developing mode to be supported by government. We first have to make bitcoin more successful as a community. Correct me if I am wrong but the main idea you have sounds like Fiverr or any gigs site for that matter. And personally, I have been thinking of the same because if we can have a platform where people can be earning Bitcoin in exchange for doing something (tasks) online then we can definitely spread the good news of this cryptocurrency and we can jumpstart the Bitcoin economy for the better. It will be easy to tell to your families including your dog, but I wish it was that easy to sell service using Bitcoin.
