I have a special attraction in the 2019/2020 English League match this time, one of them is Manchester Utd (MU).

This is a historic moment in the English Premier League this time, with a schedule that has a long and coinciding holiday in the winter of this year, in which the first round will be played by five bettors in the first week.



Even more interesting to me is Duel Liverpool vs MU, who was in the 18-19-2020 title. This is quite stressful for me, if I place a bet.

Also I lost a small bet I had placed on Liverpool because I thought they would not loose or draw any more matches this season, but I was so wrong and I ended up loosing my bet because their match ended in a draw.

This may be related to Liverpool's squad rotation. While the squad is very good for the league and the champions league, the players used in the rotation may not be ready.

I’m a Manchester United fan and I have said it many times to myself this season that if I wasn’t their supporter, I would have definitely supported Liverpool to win the premier league this season. I am not European but I also watch CL because I love sports. Well because of the liverpool's performance last time, before the game ends I am expecting that they will eventually win and I am right they won the game. And yes there is a possibility that they will become a back to back champion because they are really competitive and too strong to beat. They are working well as a team.

Dortmund are known to make young players thrive, get experience and sell for a bigger sell on, which is why i think dortmund will sell haaland in less than 9 months for over 70m

Well with there being that old saying about the magic of the FA Cup. Though Tottenham should win. Tottenham seemed to have that bounce that most teams have when a new manager takes over but then it levelled out. Any manager winning any trophy in their first (full or mid-way) season is an achievement.

Klopp will put out the youth team again , they will undoubtedly get a beating by Chelsea but he just might have a couple of first team regulars as substitutes which might make it more of a fight.

If there's one thing Mourinho knows how to do, it's to win trophies. He did it at Chelsea and later at real Madrid. I'm not trying to underrate or belittle Norwich city but I don't think they pose any real threat to Tottenham's pursuit to the campaign. After the 6th round in March, some of the big boys might exit the Tottenham. For instance, the game between Liverpool and Chelsea, one would definitely have to leave although it'll be Chelsea though (Our current performance is 2x that of Chelsea). Arsenal and Man Utd are of surprises. I won't be surprised if they lose their matches.

Well not sure about the higher quality of games for the remainder of the season but this Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday see EPL games:

Friday: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leicester City
Saturday: Southampton vs Burnley and Norwich City vs Liverpool
Sunday: Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal vs Newcastle United
Monday: Chelsea vs Manchester United

Add to that European Champions League games with Liverpool playing on Tuesday and Tottenham playing on Wednesday. Then back to massive EPL games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So the games will start to take place very frequently now.

Manchester City’s troubles have just began as fans from many teams are calling for their points to be deducted this season, and even in the next season which will effect their title challenge. Yes, I had high hopes of Tottenham coming through to beat Chelsea at Stanford Bridge but that wasn't the case. Agreed, top spurs players were injured but these players were present during the first game that they played in December where Chelsea won by 2-0. In both games, one thing is clear, Frank Lampard has outclassed Mourinho twice this season. Chelsea have a tough couple of fixtures so I predicted they won't even be able to win one game – they lost to Man Utd. I expected them to lose to Tottenham and then to Bayern in the CL. It's the same way Tottenham lost to Leipzig in the Champions league. Looks like Mourinho is slowly losing his magic.

Btw, Kudos to Frank Lampard, Chelsea might finish in the top four with the way things are going.

Unfortunately I did not see the match, I could not watch any matches today as I was busy but will catch up with the highlights to see what happened but 2-1 seems about right for me because Chelsea should not really have lost at home to Tottenham. Why has Lampard beaten Mourinho again is not really that much of a difficult question because Chelsea are a better team than Tottenham this season. Maybe when Mourinho gets his own stamp on the squad when he buys the players he wants then maybe it will be a different story but Lampard too will get the opportunity to buy his choice of players as well - the battle between these two next season will be an interesting one.

Somehow i feel like Klopp is throwing the Liverpool team under the press spotlight. Because after 2 consecutive losses with unreplied goals in both matches.
It brings criticism towards both the defenders and the attackers at the helm.

A draw/victory against chelsea would have helped, but Chelsea are deservedly into the next round.

@JollyGood I’m surprised that Chelsea won so easily against Everton, as I was expecting Ancelotti side to offer more resistance but they simply surrendered the match right from the start and were deservedly thrashed. Further Manchester United playing style surprised Pep who was not expecting such quality from Manutd and credit for this goes to Bruno, as it’s because of him that the entire team is reinvigorated. It’s also worth mentioning that the finishes from Martial and Mctominay were simply brilliant, and hopefully now Manchester United will end the season at the number four spot in the league.

I also expected the Everton team to be ready for the occasion considering Ancelotti was going back to the place where he won the premier league and FA cup double (winning both in the same season). He was at Chelsea for just 2 seasons before getting sacked but made an impression. I thought Everton would pose more of a threat but they allowed Chelsea to control the game. Well done to Chelsea for not letting Everton have an easy match. Lampard has done very well in his first season and apart from a couple of results Ancelotti has completely changed Everton and made them a good team too.

About the other game, I think Manchester City believed they would win the game but were surprised at how sharp Manchester United were when they had the ball. I think Manchester City had around 76-78% possession of the ball whereas Manchester United had just 22-24% but they gave very little opportunity to them. Yes Mahrez threat wasn't enough because after Mahrez caused Havoc, Ole brought on Bailly, and pushed him to center back. Which led to Shaw tackling Mahrez.
He later got frustrated and swapped wings with Sterling, only to be pocketed by Wan Bissaka at the other end.

It is very hard to say what should happen to the EPL (and other leagues obviously) because of the CoronaVirus.
If the current table is being used as the final table (give the title to Liverpool) then how about the other teams especially those teams in the last 3 relegation positions while they still have the chance to move up if the league is not suspended. Also about those teams that are competing for the next year CL's group stage.
IMO, it is OK if the title is given to Liverpool because it is almost impossible for other teams to win the title even if the league is not suspended. But it wont be fair if the last 3 teams are being relegated to Championship next year.
Obviously it will be strange if there is a winner but no relegations. This situation is out of human control, no one expect this virus. Any official final decision for the competition, there will be always debate and argument especially from the fans of each team.

And wouldn't making it void would be unfair for Liverpool after what they have achieved so far. They are out of every league and only thing remaining is PL and with such a display they should be the one lifting it. I would say let's see how situation settles on for some time and continue if the virus disappears what worst in that.

I agree with Alan Shearer. How is it possible to work out who gets relegated and who gets promoted from/to each of the leagues including the premier league? Even if the top team (in this case Liverpool) were mathematically unable to be caught therefore would be winners, there is a case to say that if any even happened with say 2 or 3 games to go which results in a points deduction then it could change things.

Surely the sensible thing to do is to make the season void and all teams in all the leagues start the season from scratch in August. That should only be considered if it is not possible to extend the current season to accommodate all games.

I will go further and say it would also be unfair to Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion who are top of the Championship trying to break in to the premier league.

All players have extra free days and enough time to rest in this quarantine days. I think it would be ok if they play on June, Jully to finish all tournaments. He will have a smaller break before the start of the new season but even now they have an unexpected break in March and April.
I still see that they(UEFA) are persistently trying to add Euro in this year. I guess there is a lot of money for them, but the World cup and EURO always negatively reflect on national championships. I hope there will be the reason and will move it to next year if they can't cancel it.

I didn't vote in the poll because I'd rather see neither options seems fair, imo, Liverpool surely has won the title, but there are other positions still up for contention, like the slots for the CL and EL, as well as relegation battle, it doesn't make any sense to just relegate team when they can still fight to earn their stay in the premier league, I'd rather wait to see the season played out fully regardless of how long it takes.

The premier league have more matches to play than any to other leagues. I think there is a minimum of two months necessary to play all of the postponed games. In the best optimistic case restart can be on May, so PL can be finished in July. This is in the best case and highly optimistic. It's my opinion based on other cases. There are many reasons why the season needs to be concluded by 30th June 2020 at the very latest.

All player contracts will come to an end at that time though extensions can be made to cover this unprecedented global coronoavirus issue.

Many companies and sponsors have their own reasons involving marketing and promotions running in to billions of USD$ which could coincide at the time of a new shirt deal or the launch of a new kit design. Players and their families and agents and many others have time booked for other things (families, holidays, philanthropy) which they cannot do if the season extends beyond 30th June.

Of Premier League clubs still in European competition, Manchester City could end up playing 19 games and both Chelsea and Manchester United could end up playing 18 games if they get to their respective European finals. The games played could be cut by two if UEFA decide to play the quarter-finals and semi-finals as one-off knock out matches instead of home and away legs.

The Premier League brings in billions of USD$ for the clubs through international television rights and sponsorships but if the season is cut short they would want some of their money returned or re-packaged. Things are looking difficult no matter what decisions are made.

They should focus on completing this season whenever it ends, play the carling, fac and the champions league and europa league.

Then prepare for euro 2021 proper and the olympics too.

Easier said than done. The new season 2020/21 starts around 8/9/10 August and the contracts have to be concluded for the following season by 30th June 2020 because players stop getting paid after that.

It will be very difficult to complete the season either domestically in the EPL or European cup competitions.

There’s not much clarity yet whether premier league clubs will be able to complete their season or no, as the new deadline is April 30th and maximum they can extend is to June 30th. However if they decide to extend it beyond that then we won’t be able to complete the new season in time because Euro 2021 will also have to be factored in. As much as I would love to see this season be declared nulled and void because that would deny Liverpool the title, but then again if that happens Manchester United will miss out on the top four spot and that’ll be really sad.

@JollyGood from what I’m reading this season definitely won’t be voided as the Premier League will suffer a huge loss if that happens, and that’s why I’m expecting them to do everything possible to get this season started by May end. Furthermore I feel that they’ll focus on completing this season irrespective of how long it takes, but I’m not entirely sure as to how they’ll be able to pull it off if coronavirus persists.

Another thing that was mentioned as recent as yesterday is that those players that would be out of contract on 30th June 2020 can simply walk away if they choose to without wanting to be part of an extended season: A leading sports lawyer says out-of-contract players in England can ignore FIFA proposals and leave their clubs at the end of June, even if the season has not resumed.

One other problem they face is if players who not longer term contracts do not extend their contract beyond 30th June 2020 because that is the final day of the season where all previous contractual terms end and new ones begin. There are 19 Premier League football clubs and even moderately if each squad had just 20 first team players it means 380 players are involved. Just because all 20 or so from Liverpool might be very happy to extend the season until even October or November because it would allow them to win their first ever Premier League (and their first league title in 30 years) if they 6 more points, it does not mean current champions Manchester City, Leicester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and all the other clubs feel the same enthusiasm.

Though I feel sorry for Liverpool in this situation I also feel very sorry for the clubs that could face relegation from the Premier League and those clubs trying to get promoted to the Premier League. If there is a team in the bottom 5 or 6 positions that should easily avoid relegation but because the season was extended and some players did not want to play beyond their legally binding final day of the season on 30th June 2020 because they have other their own private life away from the sport (family reasons, philanthropy or anything else) then it would be unfair for those games to go ahead as much as it would be to force those players to play games beyond the date they have no legal obligation to do so.

And a final thing, games will not be played behind closed doors with no spectators allowed. Some people are carrying the coronavirus and are simply unaware of it whereas others are displaying symptoms. If just one test is carried out incorrectly and that one player passes the virus on to his management team and team-mates and then they pass it on to several players of the opposing team then they pass it on to other opposing players and so... then we are back to the whole reason why a lock down was required.

If the season is extended in to June/July/August then when does the next season start? How many weeks or months is any extension supposed to go on for? If for example there will be no games played for another 6 months or 8 months or until January/February 2021 how can players that are out of contract or were wanting to leave (or were promised to leave their clubs) in the summer or winter transfer windows be forced to play? The whole thing is a mess.

People who have recovered from coronoavirus after receiving care have not created an immunity to it, their immune system has not created anything to stop them getting the virus again. It is inconceivable any football match could take place when the virus can be transmitted easily. Even the great Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has been hospitalised with coronavirus yesterday.

What do you think should happen to make these games take place? How can they take place without a vaccine given to players first?

We will continue to stay under lock down until our governmental agencies find a solution which might be a vaccine or some preventative measures via medication. The world has not stopped throughout the coronavirus pandemic and will continue as is.

At some stage the economy is going to go bust, people have to go back to work or we face a situation where looting & purging will become a reality.

People can only go back to work if there are any places of employment remaining to go back to. I prefer an economy going bust rather than having a situation where no preventative or precautionary steps are taken to minimise the effects of a virus that has the potential to kill hundreds of millions if not billions of people but right now it is not clear whether a medical solution will be found before economies of various nations start going bust.

If people are going to go out to loot property then many will argue the police and army of those nations affected should have the right to use force to stop the perpetrators of any illegal activities, arrest them and hopefully present them to a judge in a Court of law.

Men and women of all ages are dying from coronavirus. By far those that are either elderly or those that have suffered from pre-existing medical conditions have been disproportionately affected thus becoming victims but it is clear the young and healthy are dying too. Either way if world economies ever get together to consider returning to pre-COVID19 days without finding a vaccine or without ensuring immunisation allowing some of their population to be collateral damage - I hope they decide to extend lock downs around the world if it means lowering the death rate and it means my small sacrifice of staying put inside my home for the forseable future (apart from trips once every 7-10 days to the supermarket) is a small price to pay when looking at the bigger picture.

I cannot see medically qualified people on the sidelines of a football pitch helping stop the spread of coronavirus between football players during the course of a match. There will be a squad of maybe 20 players from each team, at least 4 match officials, maybe between 8-10 staff from each side including Manager/Coach and their assistants. They will have their own medical teams with them along with their other essential personnel. There will be up to maybe 35-40 people per team so you can say minimum of 80+ football related people in a stadium while the game is going on, add to that the ambulance drivers/paramedics and police. If any one of the people present has coronavirus or catches it and takes it home to their colleagues or family then was that football match worth it?

Yes in your scenario the players will be tested for the virus beforehand but it is clear and it has been stated that people could be carrying it without showing any symptoms. Even if one of those players slips through the net because his tests showing him as coronavirus negative but he gets on the coach with his team-mates to travel to play the football match, then it will be a disaster waiting to happen when hundreds of peope those nearest and dearest to them get affected and they in-turn pass it on to others.

It is not worth it. No football match is.

With the Premier League actioning players to start training with their clubs again, it seems they are trying to end the season by playing games behind closed stadiums with no fans and spectators otherwise there would be no fair way to determine who should be relegated and who should finish in the Champions League or Europa League places.

EPL games kick-off on 17th June 2020. The season will re-start in stadiums without fans being present but at least it will allow the season to come to an end.

Every game with be broadcast live on BBC, Amazon, BT Sport and SKY.

The BBC will have 4 live games

Amazon will have 4 live games which will be free (no Amazon Prime subscription required)
