This is worse than they are letting on. I think it was yesterday when they locked down Wuhan. You know it's gone bad when you quarantine an ENTIRE city. Was watching an interview of tourists there that managed to get out.

Even before the lockdown the government has already stopped all public transportation - buses and all, and these two chicks had to find someone willing to drive them to the next city. There's probably some tourists still left stranded in there.

If you live in Asia it's probably wise to start wearing masks when going outside considering the number of Chinese flying into the area. In my country alone they are sending back at least 100 people that were directly from Wuhan. Not to mention the local Chinese population in this region that is already in China and would fly back home after the festivities tomorrow.

Sounds mean but absolutely true if this primarily affect the elderly. People say the Black Death is what allowed Europe to transition out of its feudal stage. (It caused a labor shortage, which drove up wage.)

Not really.  I'm not saying the disease is not deadly but its definitely of less concern than something that is already highly infectious, deadly and fully spread like the flu.   Its just about sensationalism in the media and fear-mongering that appeals to xenophobic bias against China.   There are new strains of the flu every year that are much more deadly and aren't covered by the flu vaccine but they hardly get any coverage.  Like, how many of the people criticizing Chinese for eating "strange" animals are actually vegan?  How many of them know or care about the amounts of antibiotic resistant bacteria that come off of animal farms into the human population and kills thousands each year? 

Diseases only seem get a lot of scary coverage when they come from the global south.  Remember ebola?

Some of the coverage is sensationalist and some is fear mongering but I don't see it as xenophobia.  Our modern technological civilization is far more fragile than most think it is - and many people, subconsciously, know this hence the popularity of zombie and end-of-world scenarios.

Each of these outbreaks is one more trial run; one more practice game before the big one.

And the west coast ebola outbreak was stopped by a fortuitous mutation; the current east coast outbreak is still simmering on.

It probably already is there. One woman escaped the quarantine in Wuhan, still flew to France and bragged about it online. I wouldn't call it hysteria when there are already reports from the inside that other cities in Hubei province are also starting to be quarantined, the CPC has cancelled New Year's celebrations and they are rushing to build new hospitals to accommodate all the infected.

Oh you beat me to it. From the news I've seen it was 9 cities and the hospital is being rushed to be build in 6 days. I don't know how they'll do that but it shows how panicked they are. Some people joke it'll be completed that quickly coz it's actually a mass grave.

Nice, so the source I posted earlier claiming we're in the throes of a zombie apocalypse claims that (((leading scientists))) say 65 million (keyword is "could") could die.

IMO this virus is a weaponized variation of the "common cold", meaning there's a synergistic trigger chemical. So unless you're "painted" as a target you're just a carrier, like a bat with rabies who has no ill effects from the pathogen.



I don't take anything I see on the (((news))) at face value these days.

I'm in between thinking this is part of another disaster porn hysteria and thinking it's a truly concerning event that could spread like fire in a matter of weeks and do disaster.

I know this might sound like conspiracy, but it's not. Last October, Event 201 took place. Some of the biggest companies and leaders of different sectors from top countries have participated to it to do a Coronavirus outbreak simulation. We're talking about Bill Gates' foundation, Marriott, Johnson & Johnson, UPS, United Nations etc.

There's a highlight of everything they talked about here, and isn't it kind of... fishy.. that they've simulated exactly what began this January? 3 months later the simulation turned into reality, and nobody's responsible for it. It would be weird and I'd be damn suspicious if I said "next week Paris will be bombed again" and it really happens, wouldn't I?

Here's a video containing the highlights of the event. We can relate to a lot of what's been spoken and discussed during the event. The next step would be the virus reaching large cities, and then it would truly spread like fire everywhere around the world.

My point was that 3 months ago the Coronavirus outbreak was simulated and it's kinda weird that it happens now. Have you even watched the video I have posted above? It's not a conspiracy theory when some of the most powerful corporations and foundations gather together to simulate a pandemic. It's not some zerohedge article I've pasted in the post above, nor is it an Alex Jones video. It's a recording from the real event that really took place. Tell me what exactly sounds to you so science-fiction? The virus possibly spreading like wildfire? The fact that they've simulated an organization during a Coronavirus outbreak scenario?

I never said there's anything wrong with any of the ZeroHedge articles. If you read the context that quote comes from, I was saying it's not a conspiracy theory kind of video.
Back when I made my Reddit account for the first time I subscribed once to r/conspiracy and whenever I opened Reddit up and had a ZeroHedge link in the frontpage, I knew it came from r/conspiracy.. because that subreddit was full of their articles at the time.

We were overdue for a global virus. In 2014 we had Ebola, 2016 Zika virus, and now Coronavirus. The idea of this being a bioweapon is far fetched considering viruses that transition from animals and infect humans have been around for centuries. With the close proximity humans get with each other in urban centers, the spreading of these viruses don't come as a shock.

This is eerily similar to the Ebola outbreak in the U.S. where some dumbass traveled to Liberia only to return to Dallas, Texas and spread Ebola to the nursing staff in the hospital he was treated at. Put in place a travel ban and don't allow people to travel to regions where Coronavirus exists. I do not trust China's communist government one bit to contain this in a reasonable fashion so the U.S. and other countries should act first.
