So talking about locking spend paths after some time is a little off topic, and isn't really critical to my basic questions. I just wanted to give a clear picture of what seems relatively ideal to me. I don't mind some off topic discussion if you don't, but just wanted to point out we don't have to discuss this to come to a conclusion on the questions I'm posing about op_ctv.

Why is that desirable? And what do you mean by "context free"? As far as I can tell, a bitcoin output is already not context free because of time locks. But I assume you mean something different than what I'm expecting.
