Meron akong nabasa na topic dito sa Bitcointalk [1] about this recently and curious if there are Filipinos that actually used this service to get paid. It's quite old already and I saw articles from 2015 pa.

from: https://www.bitwage.com/press-media/

  • Freelance Writers
  • Small Business Owners
  • People who want to receive money with BTC

Some articles that I found relating the Philippines as one of the top freelance workers

[3] - https://support.bitwage.com/article/8-pesos-coins

Utilizing this kahit wala kang bank would be beneficial for someone who wants to get paid by using their specific skills or talent.

This is perfect for small businesses and baka makatulong din sa inyo 'tong Bitwage for your services, etc.

I'm not in any way affiliated with Bitwage, I'm just curious to those who have been successful in being paid through it.

I checked the coinsph site to see if there's any blog advertising the platform or any write up about the partnership but I could not find any. We don't even know kung active pa yung partnership nila hanggang sa ngayon.

Yun nga sana yung gusto kong makita, if ever some people are using it here or even aware. Kasi kahit ako, wala kong idea pero nung nabasa ko lang siya nung isang araw tiyaka ko lang siya naintindihan na meron palang ganun and it could possibly help freelancers here in the Philippines get paid using Bitcoin and save a lot of fees compared to usual payment processors like WU or alike.

I don't think they have a formal partnership kasi you would just input the BTC address that you have from your coins.ph/wallet. The last update of the thread is Aug. 2019, so quite recent.

Pa share naman nung tweet mo para ma check din yung progress, or keep us updated here. Sa mga may makakapag contribute, I would be willing to add some more information related to it or something.

Yes, malaki nga fees ng mga international transfers whether done thru remittance centers like WU or bank transfers. On paper, Bitwage has an advantage over both platforms.

I don't think they have a formal partnership kasi you would just input the BTC address that you have from your coins.ph/wallet. ~
Regardless if formal partnership or not, coinsph should at least introduce the platform to its local user base. The fact that they've entered into some agreement is enough reason to do that IMO.

Private message yun eh  Grin
