Bitcoin has an influence to altcoins price therefore if the price of bitcoin goes up altcoins do follow but not all of them. Some alts remain at the bottom even the price of btc is showing some growth.

If the price of altcoins goes up, sometimes btc is not in the same status. Btc and and alts have different season but most of the time btc has an impact to majority of alts and following the trend.

It has actually already started. We saw bitcoins crossing $8000 after a long time and wasn't it the start of the bullish trend? People are now speculating bitcoins or any other altcoin more consciously and they might surely find huge growth in the price in few coming months.

It will depends if the altcoin will be able to keep up with if BTC pumps up its value and also if it will happen the same last year of 2017 but i think it will not be the same again since a lot of investor are still waiting for the value of BTC to rise and surely they will accumulate more than altcoin.

And we just need a lot patience for the rise of the altcoin to happen but i think some of the top ranked alts will be able to keep but it also depend with the investor.

I am 30% in altcoins so I'm hoping they recover starting after the 3rd halvening. I think altcoins will rise again when Bitcoin reaches It's ATH and it's transaction capacity limits again. Now, People tend to jump on BTC while it's on the way up, then it's bubble pops that will just mean there is a ton of money in it that can be diversified into altcoins. The altcoin market is not done at all. there are a lot of smart people out there. When altcoins have dumped like a rock on the bitcoin ratio, smart ones will see this as a nice trading opportunity.

Yes, you are somewhat correct. Price for bitcoins and altcoins is somewhat co-related. They show is constant growth if any of them starts having the pump or dump. Usually most of the people or traders trade with altcoins keeping bitcoin as their trading pair.

In this situation, they might need to sell their bitcoins in order to purchase other altcoins which might derive the price for bitcoins on a descending graph if the quantity of such traders is maximum in number. This might than go contrary as you said. Each time when the bull runs arrive, bitcoin is the first coin to show us some progress which is then followed by other major coins. Minor altcoin are the last in queue to join the bull runs.
