Do you have any personal issues with this user? I was reading this thread for about an hour including the reference and it seems you had problems with almost 50% of established forum users. Leave them alone as other users also suggest.

@Timelord you have not addressed the core reason of the op and you are bringing another issue again. If you want to accuse the op on ban evasion then create thread and not on the misused of the Trust System. You have not said anything about the OP. And that shows that what you did is wrong. You would have waited for the lender to act first if the borrower has not repaid the loan and not you who is a third party that didn't know the agreement plan of the two parties. What really happened that you are hunting the Op?

First instance I didn't have enough information and added the additional information when it was made available and could be verified.  The second instance I have proved you are ban evading and then you admitted knowing for the last two plus years that a previous alt is banned.

Had there been 2FA then most of the scams that have occurred wouldn't have existed. (More than likely there's be as little as 200,000 members of the forum if that were the case)

The hostile reactions have been when scammers have been exposed and they squeel long and loud due to the scamming having been uncovered.

From memory, every person who has started a thread about me has then gone on to scam.

If officials do not ban them, let them live their life. Instead, DT members tagged them because they were evading the ban. Fair enough questions. I wouldn't say the discrepancy in taggings are "double-standards" so much as demonstration of a "case-by-case basis".

For me personally it depends on whether I believe the users in question have honest intentions or not. It would appear that the alt of HedgeFX was banned for PM spamming. As he no longer PM spams and has been a fairly honest member of the community thusfar IMO (and not even enrolled in a sig campaign), I think in this case forgiveness is warranted.

Not that its even up to me -- its totally the mods' call as to whether he should be banned or not.

As far as tagging members for ban evasion is concerned, I would only do this if its obvious to me that they are evading a ban, although the technical proof required by mods to perform the ban doesn't exist on-forum. Usually when I mention it in a trust rating, it is in conjunction with some other offense, and not the sole basis for a tag.
