This is a sad for me because many bad people use the name of bitcoin and popular personalities for their personal interest. And it has a huge impact on my country because many people are aware of the false news that bitcoin is a scam and they are afraid to invest in it because they think it is an investment website where there is a high risk of scam. Hopefully the media in our country will also be fair in the news so that people will know that bitcoin is only used by scammers, And hopefully the media will also announce the huge help that bitcoin and the crypto currency provide! Similar to the Binance Charity which has helped many people today, From the "corona virus" "bush fire in Australia"

Almost everyone on Bitcointalk has some basic to moderate understanding of scams, so there's little point warning us...
Not really. I would have a look into the altcoin section of this forum, it's filled with get rich quick noobs who blindly put their money into scams like this. There is no shortage of victims with how people are here only to chase profits.

Even if OP can prevent only one person from losing money this thread is already worth it. We should help each other expose scams whenever we can because at one point we were in the same position as the current victims are.

We are in this together as community and should help other people where possible because no one deserves to lose money, and the scammers certainly don't deserve the money they steal from people.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

This is very dangerous, fraudsters involve the names of influential people and that includes defamation, right? luckily there was clarification soon. Lay people will definitely be easily influenced by the Ponzi scheme which is manipulated with language that seems beneficial, even though it leads to fraud and the benefits gained are not much. Especially the profit-oriented newbie will surely be easily affected by huge rewards without learning what is behind them, so let's be more concerned with educating ourselves and those around us to avoid being harmed.
Thank you OP for the information, hopefully, many members make reports so that the fraudster cannot act anymore.

There isn't really much you can do about it, even spreading awareness probably won't dent it.

Almost everyone on Bitcointalk has some basic to moderate understanding of scams, so there's little point warning us... Spread it to the luddites instead.

If you actually read my topic you'd understand that I didn't even make this post mainly to spread awareness to the Bitcointalk people. I made this post to ask for help to hopefully bring these sites down to reduce the potential damage. I even provided links to report these sites, if you haven't noticed.

Try reading the topic first before making comments next time.

right, this is especially for beginners who don't understand correctly and they think making money here is easy. so they became the target of scamer and finally the new investors regretted, because it was not in accordance with their expectations, and finally they spread negative news about crypto

It's also fault of the scam victims in the Philippines because some of them are gullible that they believe on those investments that they will earn big amount in just a short span of time. They don't research properly what they are investing and only focused on the promised return

No one said it wasn't their fault though. Of course it's mostly on their side due to their greed and lack of knowledge. But it wouldn't hurt to spread awareness and to report these sites to bring them down to reduce the damage though.

Good on him for coming out. The guy maybe has a million of viewers that were informed about this scam. Given the circumstances, it's probably the most efficient and effective approach. I visited the Philippine SEC website to check if there's already an advisory against this bitcoin revolution but I couldn't see any unfortunately. I don't know how long it would take for them to investigate after the reports and were submitted. I guess I'll just add one more report to their list and hope that they act faster.

I'm also done reporting all six in the OP. Google is kinda slow also in taking down these fraudulent websites.

Please add these scam sites also.

Sites of this scam I've found:
Code:
https://the-bitcoinrevolution.com/
https://bitcoinrevolution.cloud/
https://securelyriches.com/bitcoin-revolutuion
https://thesecuredoffer.org/bitcoinrevolution-autopass/
https://secured4u.net/bitcoinrevolution-auto/
https://bitcoin-revolution.site/

Even just reporting these sites to Google just to get the warning message when people open these scam sites could be a big help and could hopefully make people think twice: https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_general/

Some places to report if you have the time:
Informative thanks to this!
I think a lot of Filipinos still don't have a lot of knowledge to this kind of things or cryptocurrency for most of the time this celebrities like Tito Boy from the Philippines are very influential so most of the scammers use them to have a lot of victims in scamming, but Tito boy explained this to the people that he is not endorsing this cryptocurrency and bitcoin. But as we know if you invest in bitcoin or cryptocurrency basically scammer cannot touch your investment since you are just investing in bitcoin which is secure like for example you put it in a bitcoin wallet like coins.ph. It is impossible to hack it unless they have specific websites that they are promoting.

I think a lot of Filipinos are prone to scam because a lot of people are not exposed to technology and they don't know about this cryptocurrency for a lot of people they don't have any idea when it comes to digital currency.
What we could do is spread and influence them to this kind of technology so that they are aware of this, if they are aware of bitcoin it could minimize the bad image of bitcoin to the people and avoid scams that are happening.

I don't think it's possible to report this to econsumer.gov unless you were a victim since they ask for precise information about
your interactions with them, how much you lost, etc.

This is a generic message that I sent to the filipino agencies:

Also, you all should leave negative reviews of these sites at the following places:

We must defend bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general from all internal and external threats like this one.

Please add these scam sites also.
Code:
https://revolution-bitcoin.net
https://www.thebitcoinrevolution.org
https://btc-revolution.org/login

I wish I saw these earlier because I didn't include these in my report to the government agencies.  Sad

Just reported all the sites to safebrowsing.google.com, and this kind of thing really needs to stop. Hoping that cases like this have a much heavier penalty or can't even get bail, they really take the opportunity to scam people especially those who have no knowledge about cryptocurrencies. What they really do is HYIP that you'll get an easy, big sum return for a short amount of time. Mostly these kinds of things are rampant on Facebook Messenger since it's the most commonly used messaging platform here in the Philippines.

If you're in the middle of that situation, do you think you can thought of that thing that you've said? We can't understand what they feel believing on that scams. All we have to do is to let them know the difference between legit and scammers. As an experienced bitcoin holder, you must secure your account and wallets for you to keep you away from scammers. Also be updated on the news and seek more information before believing, most of the scammers are using believable facts so that they can fool beginners. For example, with Boy Abunda, the people who used his name will have many beginners to believe because he stated the false information with a famous artist. Always aim for a reliable information about cryptocurrency.

We all know today that the cryptocurrency is one of the most profitable investments that you can earn more money easily with the use of your knowledge and skills and many people want to include in this world because they know the potential it will give them a lot of money, but the problem is the platforms today there are a lot of people now are getting scammed and hack by the websites they browse because they think they can earn a lot of money to those website, but the problem is those platforms are stealing the information of their users through the use of logging in to their websites or tracking the ip of the users and use this to connect into the devices of the users and get the information. Always make sure before browsing into unfamiliar websites is do some review to avoid some issues and problems.

I don't know it if it is the government or just the mass media but almost a lot of times when it comes to news they are always making it look bad to cryptocurrency or bitcoin. I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence but most of the time they are referring the cryptocurrency or bitcoin as a scam. That is why a lot of Filipinos are hesitant to try bitcoin or to invest in bitcoin because the bitcoin is not trusted by a lot of people here in the Philippines because of this news. The news are just referring it always as "bitcoin" but the main reasons of this scam are the people that is taking advantage.

So this is the topic that our fellow Filipinos are talking about in our local boards, that some Filipino celebrities especially actors and actresses are talking about endorsing of bitcoin revolution or the cryptocurrency in which they already said that it was a lie that those celebrities and social media influencers are endorsing this investment. This is quite alarming because there are still some people who are talking about a lie news in order for them just to earn money and because of this the image of cryptocurrency is being messed up just because to those person who are lying to for the sake of their benefits. As stated in the show they already clarify that they are not promoting or endorsing it so that other people will be able to built their mind that this are just a fake news made by other people.

Used to be with beenz, then paypal, then e-gold, and now bitcoin.
Lol.  I'm sure a lot of people here won't know what the hell you're talking about, but I remember beenz.  And Flooz with Whoopee Goldberg endorsing it, which is what I thought bitcoin like was at first before I realized it's decentralized.

I had both actually, remember clicking ads and surfing (gods all those paid to surf coins) to get a few cents. But I was really big on e-gold in those days, and I found out too late later on that HYIPs were also big on it, so when the US acted on it, I lost everything in e-gold.

You can imagine when Bitcoin came around I dismissed it because I thought it was yet another version of digital money.

Too bad I only realised YEARS later Bitcoin was decentralised.

Anyway the point is, the education and awareness on hyips and scams are agnostic of the currency. I don't really buy into all the blacklists that some states try to maintain. People lose money to scams because they don't look on blacklists or don't understand how scams work.

I don't know the answer... but I think if you can't change people's greed, it's not going to help them.

I have second though on a project that uses celebrity to promote a project or platform because they do not need it the platform will promote itself just like Bitcoin it doesn't need celebrities in fact, celebrities are the one who needed Cryptocurrency look at Manny Pacquiao he sets up his own project because of it's potential.

We shouldn't call these scams "bitcoin scams". The scams that do involve bitcoin are just scams. You don't call scams where somebody takes fiat money a fiat scam or a cash scam. It's giving bitcoin a bad name.
That said, the only way to be safe from these scams is to educate yourself or simply be smart and careful with  your money. People who are the easiest to scam are people who are greedy and careless. Usually poor people are like that because they need are desperate for money. The Phillippines is a rather poor country, so scams will thrive there, just like they do in India and the so called third world.

It's better to well aware the public about the bitcoin and it's purpose. Some of these people are taking advantage of the naive one who hasn't enough knowledge of what is bitcoin. It's easy to fool those people because their mindset is always a "get rich quick" without knowing what is the meaning of gaining something through hard work.

Yes. Because of people mindset about bitcoin to get rich quickly, people forget easily proper ways not to be scammed. I think the best way to avoid being scammed is to give free education to people about cryptocurrencies and its proper usage as a currency and even as a good investment. Yes bitcoin can help us in our own economy but we still have to work hard for it first before attaining success.

right, this is especially for beginners who don't understand correctly and they think making money here is easy. so they became the target of scamer and finally the new investors regretted, because it was not in accordance with their expectations, and finally they spread negative news about crypto

Well, sorry about that. We Filipinos are so trusting that is why we usually fall for these scams. We are known for being hospitable that is why we can really fall for these schemes, not all of us though. We also love to look at the brighter side than the dark side, people here usually don't know a scam unless they knew that their money is gone.
