The only one I can think of immediately is Kraken but lots of people moan about the lack of suicidal ratios and them running out of funding.

I presume there are a ton of Americans still on Bitmex with a VPN and I'm sure they know there are. I guess the worst that'll happen is that your account is shut and you're told to withdraw.

I think that most US based traders simply get a VPN, as you say, and trade on either Bitmex or Deribit because of the fact that they have the most liquidity and are still the overwhelming dominant forces in this area. Spot exchanges can't really compete with the product that they offer, especially Bitmex.

Of course you are running the risk of getting banned, or whatnot. It is clearly against their Terms and conditions which means that they could ask for KYC, suspend your account, blah blah.

In reality though I haven't seen anyone actually gotten this treatment. If you think about it, the platform itself has really no incentive to enforce the rules, and they can't really determine the true country of origin anyhow without any verification.

Does Bitmex have smaller cap coins? Where can I find a listing of their trading pairs? If not, what exchanges offer leveraged trading for smaller/mid cap coins?

They don't have a lot. To dick with the smaller stuff is probably a waste of their time.

Not sure about the smaller stuff. Poloniex might have something and I think they've stopped caring about where you're from, best to use a VPN all the same.

i hate relying on VPN and violating terms. it always makes me nervous about the safety of my funds.

unlike most derivatives exchanges, kumex explicitly allows USA customers. they offer up to 100x leverage on their XBT perpetual swap contract:

trading commissions on kumex used to be slightly better than bitmex (-0.025% maker/0.06% taker). they recently changed it to 0.02% maker/0.06% taker now that liquidity has improved. https://www.kucoin.com/news/en-kumex-fee?lang=en_US

like bitmex, the default funding rate is 0.01% so yes, funding fees are usually negative for shorts.

They do have perpetual swap contracts for 2 Alts  that is Ethereum and Ripple and then Futures contracts for 6 alts that is Ethereum, BitcoinCash, Cardano, Litecoin, EOS, TRON
Apart from XBT, the only other perpetual swap contract i have ever used is that of Ether because of its recent price surge which was kind of sweet to long

I think this leverage trading is the most risky, well but if know how to do it then for sure you will get good profit.
