The extension checks if a "Quote" button exists, and if it doesn't - creates "Quote to clipboard". So now obviously all posts in locked threads have "Quote" buttons and this no longer works. I'll think of something else. I can either use some other way to determine if the thread is locked, or perhaps inject the "Quote to clipboard" button in all threads, even unlocked ones.

Adding Quote to clipboard button for all threads is probably easier for next update, just think of some shorter name for the button.
We have much more active forum software developer now so I think we can expect more forum code changes in future.

I think there is a weird bug with BPIP extension that could be affected with one of the recent SMF patches.
When I copy the feedback from member profiles, it appears to change the Reference link to invalid link or to some different link.

I already contacted PowerGlove to investigate if this bug is connected with recent changes doone with one of his SMF patches, or there is something else wrong.
BPIP extension is something I used for years doing this, and I never noticed something similar happening.

Can you give me an example of which specific user/feedback it happened to? I can't reproduce this issue and there isn't anything in the code that would do this, as far as I know. It literally copies the text that you see on the feedback page.

I don't understand why only reference link would be messed up.

I am in process of doing that after talking with PowerGlove in private.
Only two other extensions installed in my browser is uBlock orign, but that is fully disabled in bitcointalk forum.
Second extension is Violentmonkey for userscript, and I was using Ignore threads script by NLNicoo.

Sorry guys, I did some testing and I identified the culprit, it was Ignore threads user script from NLNico.
I was able to reproduce the bug, and no wonder when we know this was released back in 2016.

This extension may soon no longer be supported because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions.

Yes I know, that is stupid Chrome browser related issue with their new updated code.
Basically most of the old extensions will soon stop working (if not updated), that also includes regular uBlockOrigin extension.
All extensions with manifest v2 needs to be updated to manifest v3, but there are no issues whatsoever with Firefox, Librewolf and other Mozilla forks.
Perfect time to stop using Chrome browser.

The transition is giving extension developers everywhere a headache. Even I am trying to migrate The Marvelous Suspender to Manifest v3 but it's so complicated and is harder than I thought it would be.

I briefly looked at it... seems that we're already complying with most of the stuff, like using promises etc. I would happily ignore it if there was a hope that Google will be forced to divorce itself from Chrome and hopefully get rid of dumb monopolistic shit like this... but I have a feeling that ain't happening LOL.

I got same messages today when I launched my chrome, though it was automatically disabled from the extension and I had to enable it to use it.

BPIP uses Manifest v2 while Chrome is now mandating that every extension updates to Manifest v3. That's why you're seeing this message.

I guess you can just ignore the warning for now, but it seems one day the extension will stop working.

Over the last few months, we have continued with the Manifest V2 phase-out. Currently the chrome://extensions page displays a warning banner for all users of Manifest V2 extensions. Additionally, we have started disabling Manifest V2 extensions on pre-stable channels.

We will now begin disabling installed extensions still using Manifest V2 in Chrome stable. This change will be slowly rolled out over the following weeks. Users will be directed to the Chrome Web Store, where they will be recommended Manifest V3 alternatives for their disabled extension. For a short time, users will still be able to turn their Manifest V2 extensions back on. Enterprises using the ExtensionManifestV2Availability policy will be exempt from any browser changes until June 2025. See our May 2024 blog for more context.

The problem that pop up on your end is currently discussed here on this page. I suggest that you lock your thread now, as it not only has so many duplicate replies but you should also post the problem here instead.

Those of us who have had it before still find it functional. Although it was necessary to start it manually after the last Chrome update.
Otherwise, everything is still fine on Firefox.
