Privnote(s).com Bitcoin Phishing Scam

Was just brought to my attention that privnote(s).com NOT privnote.com , is a copy cat site that’s been disguised as the real site and is phishing ( the non-encrypted notes ) for BTC addressees, then swapping them for their own. I know a lot of peeps in collectibles use/used privnote and dumbasses like myself definitely fell for the fake site a time or two. Luckily I didn’t get taken for any coins.

Crafty/well funded scumbags have their site hit second link on google when you type in the real site.

Edit - This site has to be illegal yes? Likely held offshore I’d assume ..

Many of uses that site to pass on some certain sensitive info (myself included) and it will make things really bad if that info falls into wrong hand. It will always skip out of the mind who don't use that site regularly. Its good that you brought out it our attention.

We can report the domain right?

To your question  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .. could use a legal eagle for this one. To report a domain, is it anything more than contacting the web host, exposing the scam to them, and hoping for the best or do you also report it to your  States cyber crime enforcement branch ( or whatever they are called). Or is that their duty to do? Out of my element here, obviously. Will ask around.

I think taking down the site would be the ideal thing to do. Just look out for their Domain registrar (can be found in whois details) which in case of privnote*s*.com is namesilo.com according to: https://who.is/whois/privnotes.com . And here is the link to report abuse on namesilo : https://www.namesilo.com/report_abuse.php .

I already have reported the site already. You can do also if you want, maybe they will give it more priority based on the reports perhaps?

Thx for the education, per usual! I will report them as well. Certainly can't hurt.  As you can see, I've not come to learn much more in the way of being pc savvy since dude tried scamming me several years ago ( can you believe it's been that long, crazy).  I am however still worried I'll pay for doxxing him in the afterlife like he said I would

He won't, I am sure of it. Scammers usually get over such incidents and get on in preparing next scam trap  - that's how scammers roll (as I've seen). Don't worry about that, its been long eitherway.

Oh I’m 110% just kidding. I don’t believe in any sort of religious backlash anyhow. If it didn’t piss the mods off, I’d doxx him over and over again.
