Consistency is hard.
Staying committed to the forum is difficult.
Life change, priorities drastically take you away (or toward) the forum.
This gives even more credit to the people with a higher activity rank who are still around.
I definitely want to be one of those.
It is storied that twenty friends can not play together for twenty years. Not that agree with the phrase but it is happening. Life is in phases and  priority shifts which in effect disrupts consistency to some particular things which then gradually fades off. What can remain everlasting in life is change itself.

This is undoubtedly true, but knowing everything we care about, and put a lot of effort into, is temporary is not easy to accept.
Even knowing about this, what can we do? Nothing.

And you may wonder at times with questions like, what is the essence of life if everything is temporary that after all the efforts, struggles and knowledge shared and gained, we still die leaving only memories behind.

But purpose. Purpose is what makes life meaningful and worth living and why we need to appreciate every moment spent doing what we care for, cause everything is temporary.

Your statement regarding purpose adding meaning to all we do regardless of everything being temporary is quite intriguing. There is yet another way of looking at this. Although we are limited by the temporary aspect of our life spans, the effect of our deeds need not be so limited. The sharing of knowledge, aid to other people, and contributions towards the development of ideas have the potential to be passed on to help many people beyond our own lives. This is one reason that places such as Bitcointalk will remain relevant. Much of the information that was generated in the past still helps out new members because someone decided to make some contribution to society.

As out time on earth is scarce, even more scarce than bitcoin, we need to choose valuable things to spend our time on. It’s sad when you lose friends and comrades who choose to share part of the road with you.

@fillippone

Even though I am a new user, I always follow some experienced people.
Of which you are one. Smiley

Consistency is really difficult in real life because priorities tend to shift so much.

That’s precisely why all the experienced users who have earned high ranks should be respected their continuous presence in the forum shows that they are dedicated to the community, not merely interested.

Striving to be like that will surely be an excellent idea for you. Forum communities need exactly this attitude. With proper time management and interesting discussions, you will eventually become one of these role models!

Agree with everything you said there. I think I will always be active on the forum, whilst I am able to be. I am not an old man yet so hopefully I can be here for many more decades.

It’s sad when people slip away from being active but like you said, life priorities change and sadly we have alwo had a number of deaths over the years.

It hurts even more when long-term members leave, but as you mentioned, life happens. People change, and sometimes it feels sad how much time has passed because we lose people from our communities throughout the years.

But it is good to know about your dedication to being part of the discussion. You have a lot of years ahead of you, and it is good that you have such an experience, which allows a forum culture to exist. Communities need someone who connects the past and future generations. Cheers for more years of wonderful talks and staying connected despite everything that happens in life!
