These are stock pictures from free webnode constructor, I don't think piratecoin used them on purpose. Team members decription doesn't make sense either, because it was never edited from original template. However, it may tell us about suspicious nature of this project, token creators spent zero money and exit scam is very possible. Be careful, guys and think twice before buying anything from such lazy doers.

If they took time to include their team names below the stock photos without even thinking of changing them then It still shows dishonest and unprofessional behavior, and they should not be trusted with anything at all including money.

I'm not sure if it is necessary to put up a scam accusation. If you check the ANN thread, you'll notice that they didn't even take a few minutes to create a meaningful ANN. Could as well just be some sloppy shitcoiners who were creating some nonsense waves token for whatever reason. I don't necessarily see a scam, here, but I would absolutely not advise anyone to put real money into this. We don't even know why this coin exists, what its name is for / what the hell it has to do with pirates etc… this should be an absolute nobrainer.

that's right, why put their "names" beside their photo if they don't have the intentions to use these fake photos. maybe another russian scam in the making. even if you translate their page in english, their profile description is still in a different language. it is good that they have ANN thread in this forum so users will be alarmed by this potential fraud project.

I think just to notify users here that this project has the potential to scam people because of the use of fake profiles. there are still a lot of newbies that will fall into this kind of project even if it is an obvious crap project.

I see. But I also see that people here often jump their gun lightly. If you closely follow the scam accusations here, you'll find many posts where an apology to the accused would be more than necessary. See this accusation from the same user. He did apologize when things cleared up (which I respect, even though it should be a totally normal thing to do in such a situation), but I think this "guilty until proven innocent" mentality – which is how it appears, even though probably not on purpose – does more harm than good.

Successfully accusing somebody of being a scammer who's not causes more harm than good. And in this particular case, a [WARNING] in the title would have been sufficient, imho, until really solid proof can be presented (which I just don't see, here).

i understand what you wanted to impart here. actually, warning is more appropriate. because if you will read most of the scam accusations here, it says scammers profile link but most of them don't have the actual proof of being scammed or snapshots of the transactions that has been scammed from them. so sometimes it is unfair on their part.

but most of the time, project using fake profiles have the tendency to screw their investors. but yes, [Warning] is more appropriate in tagging this kind of project.

Since they are exposed to using a fake profile of their team, they have taken down all the images and so we have a blank team members
https://piratecoin.webnode.ru/team/  the site is not even professionally-looking, and they are not even using their own domain, so my take on this is they are trying or doing a sample project, these are newbie scammers but they are going to be better when they come back.

It not a scam, It is wordpress default template, why you blame on me? My project PirateCoin
will work in the waves environment, where I am going to collect 1000 waves to run the node, where is the scam here? At the moment there is a PirateChain and PirateCash coin, my coin is PirateCoin! Check picture url: https://ibb.co/pKyp2k1
