A game that educates people about Bitcoin

Great idea! A mini-game is ideal for an objective between 18 years and over. Because there are certain warnings about the use of Bitcoin that are clearly understandable.
It can be fun if users have challenges and missions where they can earn rewards and points. Also, with the points earned they can become satoshi, it would be an advantage.

It would be hard to associate game to bitcoin or cryptocurrency specially when you are playing an online game and the reward is a cryptocurrency which is satoshi or any coin i think the developer of the game will be having a hard time f that would be the concept of the game playing the game winning the game and earn free satoshi a after the game maybe that would be a hard part for the developer.
I think the main concept will be just the game will be having a connection to cryptocurrency and bitcoin and which they will how to promote or introduce bitcoin is.

I don't think games are a good tool for educating adults about new concepts, they are time-consuming and distracting. You could use them to teach kids, but why would you want to teach kids about Bitcoin in the first place, it's not like they will be using it till they grow up.

Adults play games to relax and have fun, and educational games generally have poor gameplay, so I can't imagine such game being popular.

Games is a good way to educate other people. They are having fun while learning how bitcoin really works. They would fully understand what bitcoin can do if they are enjoying studying about it. Plain text information is much more boring than playing a game while learning so, I do not think that this one is a bad idea at all.

Well, in the past, I've seen some games like a happy farm, harvesting and trading products, we can convert the profits we earn into bitcoin but these games quickly went bankrupt and disappeared when the value of bitcoin skyrocketed and when the bitcoin craze has been flooding in recent years, the idea of a game to educate people about bitcoin is no longer an interesting idea. In order to understand bitcoin, perhaps people should directly visit the websites online, they provide them fully and with the level of knowledge of an average person, we only need a short time to understand all about bitcoin

For me, yes, it is hard to make a game that you can connect bitcoin and the purpose is to educate the gamer but as of now, maybe there are some developers are now thinking that to happen and they will produced some blockchain-based game that will promote bitcoin to the player. Because as of now there are games that only use bitcoin for some top-ups when you are buying some equipment in a particular game and need bitcoin to buy it. It is not impossible to happen but as of now since there is still not having any kind of game like that, we should continue to promote bitcoin the way we do, promoting in social media platforms, on your friends, so that we can gain a lot more investors to support particular projects that are coming.

Indeed, there are people who really play every game like it was a piece of cake for them but when the other people playing it, it is really hard. Different people have different knowledge.

I never seen any game like this. A combination of games plus useful information about bitcoin. You have a good purpose creating this kind of unique game. If this will help people who do not enough knowedge  in bitcoin, then it is such a great idea and I do think many will suppport this  Awareness is always the key for adoption and this game of yours is simply amazing to do that kind of tasks that engage bitcoin informations.

It's a pretty good idea but based on my experience if you're going to create your own game will need a fund to develop that game also you will make your own cryptocurrency in order to give a reward to the one that answer correctly. The reward will increase level by level and some kind of trophy in the end or if you will reward Satoshi it will be good. An education game that all about cryptocurrency ? It will give more idea and make easy to understand to everybody who want to know it. It's easier for them to educate if they're enjoying it.

OK those are cool topics, but as some already feedback, still possibly quite technical. I think it's got to be in the forms of questions people are most likely to ask about using Bitcoin (as opposed to questions people would ask about speculating on or investing on Bitcoin).

In my own starting experience, it's like:
1. How do I send someone Bitcoin without making a mistake?

But what could be more fun is a section on convincing people why they should switch to Bitcoin, with a game that teaches them the key differences. Ie. What actually happens when I send someone 1 dollar to their bank account, and when I sent someone 100 satoshi to their own Bitcoin wallet?

Answer could revolve around actually you sending money to bank and bank updating an account balance of the receiver... money stays at the bank.

And Bitcoin, you're transferring sole ownership to another user.

I like the idea,but building a game from scratch isn't easy at all.
If the game isn't entertaining enough,nobody would bother playing (even if it's really informative).
A game with asking and answering questions seems really boring.Kids and teenagers simply won't be interested into such game. Do you have any concepts about the game design?
Will you outsource this to a game developer?Do you have a budget?How do you plan to fund this project?

I am self funding this for now. I am a developer, and have picked up Unity2D just for this project.

I am commissioning an artist to provide artwork. I do think the getting the artwork right will be key.

There are a lot of games like this.

Giving information, used in the schools so children will be familiarized with the spelling of words and even familiarizing the keys on the keyboards, there are also games about Bitcoin. The problem here is that how will it gain players, if this game will be developed, someone needs to advertise this game so a lot of people would also play it.

Well, I think that is a nice idea that use games as medium to introduce and influence other to be interested and knows about cryptocurrency, actually, I'm not good at suggesting at complex things but what you have right now is enough maybe while developing it you will think of others things to add, but in all, it might work.

Sounds like a good idea. Lots of people may not be interested if it too difficult or technical.
Most people would probably grasp things easily if you use real Bitcoin with "many transparent & fancy piggy banks in a large containers". Everyone has the copy of the container but nobody owns it. It's decentralized, transparent, permissionless, trustless, immutable, anonymous etc.       After playing the game, you could ask them if they prefer having the container in the care of a central authority or in their care. If they choose the latter you inform them that is what Bitcoin is about.
I bet most will prefer holding and monitoring the piggy bank container together as a community

Games are an effective medium rather than just reading texts with similar concepts. The information to be conveyed is packaged in an interesting form, depending on the desired target, and if this is introduced early on in teens I think it can have a positive effect on their mindset on the development of the financial system of technology. This is very interesting and unique niche.

The target player is not an engineer or an economist, but a person on the street that still believes fiat is good and that we are fine with money controlled by the state.

The game is designed as a series of conversations between two people, one asks questions and the other responds. The responses almost always include a mini game where the player solves a simple task to understand the concept.

For example, the first game is a simple "scratch the screen" game to reveal the bitcoin emission schedule.

Here's a list topics for which I am currently developing mini games:

• Inflation hedge. Digital Gold.
• How to pay using Bitcoin. No need for Credit Cards or banks.
• How payments work - mining intro.
• Double spending is almost impossible.
• Censorship resistance.
• Fleeing a war zone with bitcoin.
• Keeping it safe. Secret sharing.
• Purity of bitcoin vis a vis gold purity tests.
• Address the fear of losing coins.
• Anonymity and privacy.
• No banks or state or single miner or developer regulates Bitcoin. Essentially, "no one" regulates Bitcoin.

Would love to get any input on the list if topics. Is there something I am missing as the first introduction to someone new to bitcoin? Is there something I should take out?

That is a good thing. If I am a game developer in the future, I will choose to create games that are related in cryptocurrency or a game that gives knowledge about cryptocurrency, well, that is good especially for the children or to adults. I think that they will become motivated to learn cryptocurrency if they see some animated characters and places on the background. Still, I think a game that teaches cryptocurrency has a disadvantage as well because for sure some of the players won't focus on learning but rather on the game, actually based on my experienced, it is so hard to learn something when you are playing, you will become distracted on reading, analyzing and understanding the message if you are playing.

Design the game similar to how Cashflow 101 game is played to make it interactive and fun and also they should be forced to think on how they view money.
To add:
1. How the government keeps increasing fiat currency (inflation) vs how bitcoin is fixed supply (deflationary). How savings in fiat or value of savings in fiat is being robbed in plain sight.
2. Why no one can stop a bitcoin transaction (censorship resistance)
3. Why bitcoin is "unhackable" - e.g. will take 33 decillion years to crack a btc wallet with value using an existing ultra-super-mega computer.
4. Why bitcoin is better than gold in terms of portability (imagine carrying $100,000,000 in gold and paying someone with it haha)

I like computer games and I am also a crypto enthusiast, even if I am a newbie there is no way I am playing that game. This is a good way to promote mass adaptation and crypto knowledge, however, I believe it won't be that effective.

But the use of educational games is appropriate enough to convey information simply and pleasantly, with the support of attractive graphics and animations, rather than just reading a row of letters. There must be a small number of people who use this. If the OP can promote the mini-game well, I think this is effective enough to provide education to the newbie. All objects can become learning media, the OP has already determined its target players, so I'm sure what the OP can do can be useful.

Exactly, it’ll be fun and knowledgeable at the same time. If OP will be able to create a game that is customer friendly, which means easy to use and understand and use attractive graphics then I think players will still be interested in it especially that bitcoin is becoming popular. With the game type people will know about bitcoin in a simpler way.

Games are an honest tool to teach adults up about new ideas, they are tiring and diverting. You’ll use them to show kids, yet for whatever reason you want kids to identify bitcoin, they won’t like to use it until they get older.

The grown ups can undo and enjoy a wonderful time, and the continuing interaction of educational games for the main part is pretty bad, so I can't think of enrolling this national game.

Nice work mate, I can't wait to try it out though but I was hoping that maybe you can add something that allows the conversation around how best we can use bitcoin as a payment method looking at all the scalability issues and the speed of the network. Maybe a little light around that area will also be a good idea!

It is a great idea, a game that can share ideas and knowledge through Bitcoin. But this is not mean that they will get educate because Bitcoin need more time to educate your self all over the function and how the system works. But at least this maybe help people to understand what is Bitcoin and maybe the stepping stone towards the Bitcoin adoption. Thank you for sharing this.

Of course basic knowledge about bitcoin will be included in the first chapter of this game.
Each answer will provide a different storyline.

With your ability to use Unity2D will greatly support the visual appearance of the game for the better. If you build this game well and diligently I think a lot of support will come to fund the game that you are developing. then what determines the success of your game is the quality of the game and how to market the game to the audience of the game.
