Potanin already has the approval from their central bank to launch his own token, the token is going to be used by his clients to buy metals, air tickets, and transfer ski passes from his businesses.
I think Potanin actually acknowledge cryptocurrency having a smooth transaction from his clients and eliminating the paperwork and middlemen, also having a speed up transactions.

So what I understand, that the richest man of Russia is creating a payment platform on blockchain for his own clients, so that his clients can purchase Potanin's products without the need of an intermediary like Bank! Well that anyone can do.

If you have ever worked in an office, you may find some similarity with the Cafeteria coupons. These coupons are useless in the real world, but can be used in the office Cafeteria. What Potanin is building, is the digital form of such coupons for his institutional clients! All good!

It just appears that Potenin is producing a type of credits system that many websites already use, e.g. like gamestop points or one of the huge variety of reward points different platforms offer.

The only difference is he is issuing these tokens on a blockchain, which presumably means they can be traded, whereas most reward points cannot.

Nice! The fact that their central bank allowed him to do such thing and the fact that he is one of the most well known image/influencer there, it already speaks a lot . It means that it will have a greater chance of becoming a successful project in the future, the only problem they just to fill up is on how they will effectively advertise and persuade their fellow countrymen to use such coin.

That's should be the purpose of crypto and he's doing it. Although, it's not for bitcoin but good thing is that he's making the right use of it. I've heard about the PAC token and actually there's a misunderstanding about it before because there's already a PAC that already exists, the first PAC.

Well, anyone could create its own token on whatever purpose it would be as long you are capable and do know how to handle it and as said this wont really differ in likes of coupons which this one cant really be

He is credible enough to launch his own token, he is well known and he has assets that can back up his project and he will not scam people because he is going to lose his reputation and he has a good roadmap, I prefer backing or supporting this project than these unknown ICO developers.

What makes it any different from the failed Libra project of Mark Zuckerberg? If he is serious about cryptocurrency, then he should invest in Bitcoin and help the community rather than creating his own token. We already have 10,000 plus cryptocurrencies and there is no need for a new one. Just like Zucker, the intention here is not to support cryptocurrency but to profit out of it.
