Hello everyone,

I was looking into the divisibility of a few cryptocurrencies and found no information on whether USDT has a smallest sub-unit.

Is it possible to send someone $0.01 USDT? What about $0.001 USDT? Does it depend on the blockchain?

Any information would be appreciated.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

There is no specific sub unit for USDT, but you can regard to it as the US $ since that's its pegged value, so it's only logical to presume it's smallest subunit is the Cent.

And yes, it is possible to send 0.01 or 0.001 USDT or their equivalent in USD (which would almost be the same value because it's stable coin).

If you're trying to deposit/withdraw from an exchange, be sure to check the minimum deposit/withdraw allowed, some exchange restrict USDT transactions to round figures.

This is an interesting question, for example when we have up to one usdt we say we have $1 or more but when it is in it's minutest amount it is called or measured in cent,an example is $0.50 ,this is called 50cent because it isn't upto 1 usdt. So cent is the smallest unit of USDT.

I have not tried sending less than 1 USDT, but such a possibility exists. I have projects in which I receive dividends from my investments in USDT and there I receive daily 0.02 USDT, but the minimum withdrawal from the platform is 10 $

That's true and it has called penny in the past when it was not yet changed into the cent as the smallest unit of dollar. USDT is totally pegged with the dollar and that makes sense to take it as the best answer for OP
https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-smallest-currency-in-USA#:~:text=What%20is%20the%20smallest%20currency%20in%20USA%20is%20a%20penny,been%20in%20existence%20since%201793.
That link is also giving a really good answer too.

let's see the eth blockchain for this token

https://etherscan.io/token/0xdac17f958d2ee523a2206206994597c13d831ec7

I see the minimum value of 0.000001
You can also easily look at other blockchains and find the answer to your question.

USDT is a stablecoin. It's quite similar to USD so I think you can deposit as much as you like, as long as you have money to pay the transaction fee. I have never deposited less than 10 USDT, so I don't know for sure when you make a trade of $ 0.10 it will work.

On the ETH blockchain, it is very easy to see the minimum value for the token

https://etherscan.io/token/0xdac17f958d2ee523a2206206994597c13d831ec7

we see that after the decimal point there can be 6 digits
