My favorite ways to travel cheap are on bicycle, horses, train, etc. Public/mass transportation are generally cheaper compared to the private ones... I don't always feel too comfortable in them though. If it becomes necessary to travel cheap, I will certainly go for walking, cycling horse riding. I enjoy walking alone or with very few people. I also love riding bicycles and will most likely enjoy riding long distance on horses.

When you are planning for outing, it is better to have a personal vehicle. you can enjoy travelling because you can control your time. You can have a quality time with your travel body.
and you can go wherever you wanted not like if you are commuting the places you can go is limited since it is more expensive and also time spending. My favorite ways to travel cheap are on bicycle, horses, train, etc. Public/mass transportation are generally cheaper compared to the private ones... I don't always feel too comfortable in them though. .
so do you have horses on your place?really you can ride with them anytime?damn i love that mate.

Saving is the most rewarding thing rather than bonuses, perks, and benefits. So for everyday living I would like some opinions or techniques that can save money while travelling to work, school, or business. You can add some money-saving tips other than travelling efficiency. I know I have read some articles about this but I want to know from real people in here.
Personally speaking from experience, that could actually depend on a lot of grounds. If you opted to use your private car and gas is as low as ever with no parking fee, then you are good. But, if parking averaged at a $1 per hr and again with your gas usage, then you should think twice and probably just commute.

It's depend on activities you will do in traveling. If only traveling, visiting the famous places/buildings, public transports will be more convenient when there're always a lot of transferring services for you to choose.
The famous landmarks, there are countries that you can't access those places by just simply using public transport. This means that it will depend on the country you are residing in. And those landmarks can only be accessed through personal cars.

I think using personal vehicles will be more saving than to use public transportation, especially if in the city need to pay a high cost of public transportation. Sometimes, we can rent a motorcycle or car in that city to reduce the cost, and that will use to help you when you want to go to many places. But if you're going to go to school, work, or business, you can use public transportation, or you can use a motorcycle, bike, or even car.

By and large, it's way cheaper to use public transportation to get around than it is to buy your own vehicle. ... Using public transport is much less taxing on the environment compared to private vehicles. Since a lot of people can ride the same vehicle, the carbon emissions per head are largely reduced. It's Safer Public transportation is much safer than traveling by car. APTA reports that you can reduce your chance of being in an accident by 90% if you switch to public transit. They also state that public transportation is 10 times safer per mile than automobiles.

As far as i know, it will be difficult to travel with a bicycle or by trekking/jogging and traveling with a horse is not a common practice in these days. So from your list of options, the cheapest transportation means is the public transportation system.

When compare both the public and personal transport the expenses are same but in our personal vehicle we can do more comfort more than the public services that's why I think personal vehicles are more efficiency and cost savings for everyone.
What I've learned during this covid19 times is that it's always comfortable to own a car. When you travel and there's this pandemic, you don't have to come along with other passengers in public transportation. So if someone with anxiety and fearing the contact of the virus, you have the safest and most comfortable travel. And that is when you're driving in your own car.

Public transport is the cost effective thing for sure but do you really considered the money saved for public transport usage over your personal vehicles?
It will be only few dollars or hundred I guess but with personal vehicle you can save your time which is more expensive than any thing so if you know how to use your time productively then public transportation is good to go.

Cost and convenience are the main reasons for transportation in our current structure most countries favor private transport because it has a high positive rating for three main reasons with your own car you can be willing to do whatever you want with the limited cost of fuel toll and parking fees and convenience and it's very convenient to choose where you want to travel at any time. Public transport scores low for these reasons the big cities do not have adequate public transport and that forces us to endure crowded buses and metros.

Public transport always wins , you dont have to pay tax, gas price , insurance , maintance. You just pay for a card and you use it form point A - point B , if you only travel in the city you dont need a car. If you have work outside it you can get one, that way you dont wait on trains , buses

if you will go directly to a place then it is more cheaper to ride public transport because you will go directly to your location. but the problem is if you are going here and there, the stop over will take your long time .

in my area the traffic is killing me going to office so i prefer riding Train but it is also harder to go in train station as it was few kilometer from my place so i am Riding my Ebike and leaving to the train terminal so when i am off to office i will also ride train and ebike to go home, same old ways everyday and it made me saves more money than driving my car to office. Indeed, a bicycle is a personal vehicle, which happens to save fuel and it even improves your health as long as the other motorists respect you... Luckily in our country/city there is a Bike Lane that has a enforcer that is capturing those motorists that try to use our Bike lanes. Unfortunately not all places have a bicycle friendly culture, but if you happen to live in a place that does, you should use it. I have never used an electric assisted one, but i can imagine those would help certain groups of people.
exactly , I even use my Bike traveling long ride, yes i travel to province using only Bike. In some places public transport makes sense, especially if the stops/stations are close to your from / to destination. But, if you could, say, work from home, that would also save a lot...
I used to , but having a health issue I completely maximizing the help of Bicycle , so now I prefer biking more than motorize vehicles .

I don't know about you or your country and your transportation system but for my own country public transportation is more preferable than private vehicle because the use of petrol on vehicle is becoming expensive this days. Like now if you want to travel from your state to another state, it takes you maybe a lesser value compared to when you fuel your car. Or when you fuel your car to take your children to school. But the only advantage about person vehicle is privacy and respect. With your car you can move at any time and decide to come back anytime even when it's late at night.but in public transportation system it doesn't give you the privileged.

using public transportation is clearly cheaper than using a private vehicle. for example in my city, when you use the busway, mrt, and commuter, you will get an immediate discount and it's less than 1.5 usd for a distance of several tens of kilometers. whereas when you use a private vehicle, you need to pay for petrol, maintenance costs, taxes and insurance, and that makes the cost of using a private vehicle much more expensive. and because of this, many people use public transportation to go to work, school, or other things, because it is much cheaper and faster.

Hmm it would depend on how much you are going to travel and for how far. If it requires you to be in another city, I think it would be best if you just took personal vehicle but if it doesn’t then a few minutes on public transportation wouldn’t hurt you nor your wallet.

For me, commuting or using public transport is much cheaper than having personal vehicles. In public transport, you are just paying for the fare from point A to point B, and that's it; no more worries for you. On the other hand, having a personal vehicle will cost you, of course, the initial cost of buying the vehicle, whether it is a motorcycle or a car. A personal vehicle can cost you fuel too since you are the one that is using it. You are obligated to fuel your vehicle. Also, since you are using it frequently, it should have maintenance and repairs. We don't know if there are hidden or unexpected things that need to be fixed. Another thing is insurance. Of course, if you buy a car, it is covered by insurance. The last thing that vehicle owners need to know is the parking fee. Since it is a private vehicle, you need to pay for the parking.
