This should serve as a reminder that your Bitcoins are not safe when you deposit them into a sportsbook, no matter how long they are in business or what their reputation is - and Bitbook was considered the most reputable Bitcoin sportsbook at the time !

For this reason we've created DirectBet. We came up with a unique solution where you can bet on sports events without depositing your Bitcoins and parking them on a 3rd party website. We do not hold your Bitcoins except during the lifetime of the bet and only the amount that you wish to bet. That's as safe as it gets.

Probably the stupidest thing I have read in a while. Nitrogen only holds the coins for the lifetime of the bet too.. They have instant deposits and instant withdraws. Technically you actually hold the bitcoins longer than multiple sites because you require a boatload of confirmations. Secondly, The the juice/vig on your games that haven't started are OUTRAGEOUS. The live bets that are posted have huge amount of vig incorporated in them. Directbet is nowhere near the competition.

We settle bets automatically within minutes of the event completion.

Before we issue a payout, we first wait for 6 confirmations to appear in the Bitcoin network for your initial bet transfer, as recommended by the Bitcoin protocol, to ensure that we actually received it permanently, as transactions are irreversible.

Usually, by the time the game is over, there are already more than 6 confirmations so that's not an issue. In other times, it's just a matter of a few more minutes.

Overall, since we settle bets so quickly, the holding of your wager is kept to the minimum, and you don't need to login and manually request a withdrawal, it is sent back to your Bitcoin wallet automatically, so your Bitcoins are in your control as much as technically possible.

As for the odds, Bitbook was brave to offer unrealistic high odds and we have all seen the result. They went out of business and didn't have enough to pay all their customers.

While our odds may not be the highest, we offer the highest security for your Bitcoins, 10 BTC monthly bonuses to those who frequently bet on our website, a unique feature that allows you to negotiate better odds and a very high max bet size.
