Basically, what Vod linked.

1. Where are you getting the error?
2. Can you reproduce the error?
3. Time, and date the error occurred
4. steps taken before the error was produced

AFAIK this isn't even anything to do with the forum, and should be elsewhere. Would you please elaborate where this error is from.

From what I know debug.log is a Windows/Google file (either created by OS or Google apps, like Chrome) where ... as the name suggests... errors are logged. This is client side anyway, meaning on your PC

Did you click on a weird link from a post and got an error? Did you open a PDF or something with Chrome?
As the guys before said, need more details

Maybe this quote can help you:

The easiest solution is to reindex everything. I think that would work. However, before you do that, check the permissions of everything in the data directory. Make sure that the you are able to have read and write access to everything since that error seems like you have a permissions problem.

It would also be helpful if you gave us the full Debug log.

And please move the Thread in the correct subboard Smiley

Did you check the Bitcoin Core debug.log file to see what the actual error was? Huh

The debug.log file is in the Bitcoin Core data directory (same place as the wallet.dat file). Without the error details from that file, no one will be able to assist

Not really, I've encountered a similar case  Cheesy but I did not find any debug.log file as your suggestion. The better thing is that I can continue using electrum by uninstalling and reinstalling  Cheesy The difference may be due to the Electrum installation directory, I'm not sure but you should install on drive C (default folder). OP can try it if he want, not sure if it works for him

debug.log is the log written by default when using bitcoin core...
For electrum, you can enable stdout debug logging on the terminal by adding the -v argument.

@OP: depending on your OS, the path to the debug.log can be found on this wiki entry: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory
The log does not contain your private key, nor seed... Nobody can rob you just by reading your debug.log, so from a security point of view, it should be safe to post it's content. However, by sharing the log, you might decrease some of your privacy
