Also you can add maybe this one, I assume this is still part of April Fools Day and this is the most I like during that year since its kinda educational and many got also by this prank post that shock many members especially those ICO investors. When you read the comments I am not sure of they are sarcastic or what based on their comments. But I am sure even reputable members got by this.

Yeah, I like this topic of yours, but I don't like the way most people on this forum deal with the April Fools joke  The purpose of April Fool's Day is to tease people, but unfortunately, it doesn't last a long time  Less than half a day after theymos' plan was implemented, most of them were was exposed. I do not like it  Many users make topics and posts just to announce that joke, the elation is lost. A joke is no longer a joke when it cannot deceive others  I like the feeling that users are worried about what they encounter as I have encountered, it should not be exposed, at least to the end of the day.

So if possible, I suggest not having any topics to expose their plans in the future  Although this is not prohibited

Nice compilation OP. It's either you're a good student of history or you teach it  . April Fool's Day is now a tradition, even in this forum and we always look up in anticipation to what theymos would always come up with each year. This year's prank was in tandem with the pandemic virus.

I think the first one I remember was something to do with avatars. Avatars were re-enabled on April 1st after being disabled for a years, but everyone had a joke avatar for that day and they could then be changed the day after to whatever you wanted. Or am I misremembering/getting confused with something else?

So, it looks like that I missed just one April 1st joke by theymos - in 2015 because back then I didn't had Bitcointalk account. If I remember correctly, I have screenshots of all other pranks. But I can't upload it now because it's on different devices.
And I was actually fooled for a second by additional rank requirements. It looked a bit strange and suspicious, but I forgot to look at calendar.
And I can't forget last year when people were actually posting their selfies with a passport .

I like the way people make threads to ask about the unexpected bugs or problems they see on April Fool's day, it's really fun. And conversely, I hate people who create topics to explain about it before others have a chance to enjoy it  accidentally they lost the feeling that others might have

I tend to agree with you but if everyone who experienced or a victim of a prank will make a thread on this meta regarding to their unexpected bugs, I don't know how it looks like. But at least there are always victims in every prank theymos has during April Fools day. And we enjoyed how forum members reacted.

I remember there is a thread that selling collectibles during April fools day using your merit to purchase. If I'm not mistaken that was the year 2017 or 2018.

As far as a month before, people were already posting what he should do - and it all echoed what he had already done.

He showed imagination, even while some people thought it was in poor taste.

Shut down bitcointalk SMF forum and everyone has to begin in Epochtalk as a Brandnew account.

The data transition from SMF forum to Epochtalk forum is too complicated and theymos gives it up. Another reason is a new forum will give all members a fair chance to begin with its merit system, no airdrop, no grandfather.

It sounds fun, but it would be disastrous, right? If the spoofers know about this, it can be used for fraud. I have an idea that I think it's better. I'll start with your idea. But the difference is this: people themselves won't notice that difference. We will still see our names in every post and also in our profile. But with each other's post, we see that their name has been changed.

For example in this thread, with this post I still see my name unchanged. But you see my name by someone's name, and I see you as Vod  How do you think about this?

Theymos actually does pretty unique April fool specials which looks so genuine so, I guess this time too you would be fooled even if you know beforehand that April fool is on that day it's true that some of the suprise is gone after noticing this thread, but surely this is going to be an interesting one this year I'm feeling optimistic about after all, being a fool is also important and fun to be sometimes in life
