We start when the group is full or we reach the minimum of 5 people or we can wait it out till we fill the 10 places then start.

I would rather we fill the group to give us the best chance and more hash rate towards the hunt.

At the moment looking like could be just 5 of us but would love more people to jump in.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Well in essence the only thing that matters on a hunt is total hash power so if we can find a nice balance of power / time to mine.
I would say the best option is to rent as much as possible for 24-36 hours.

Thought again group rental everyone can have a say on how we go about the rentals and what everyone feels is the best option available at the time.

Everything above 10 minutes is good for me Cheesy. Tho 36h might be too long, maybe go 12-24h?

That's the biggest drop I remember seeing.  Strange that it dropped after a decent price rise.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

A glorious number IMO, I also find it strange that we would see such a sharp fall considering the price point.

All we need now is a full list and get the rentals going!

My bad, I didn't know that port 3334 works on rfpool.org, you are right about this not being the best way to hide your mining activities from the government, but this pool could be used to by-pass US sanctions on other countries rather than the other way around, I found out about this when someone from Iran posted here about not being able to connect to Cksolo, and then I teamviewed into his PC to double-check if he got everything correct and it turns out that the the pool server "located in the U.S" is blocking him, so o_solo_miner gave me his pool URL to test it and it worked for him.

To clear that a bit for future user,
rfpool.org:3334 is connected to solo.ckpool.org:3333 (ckpool in Passthrough mode)
The server is based on the decix in Frankfurt (Germany) and got a good speed to connect to the solo.ckpool.
Main purpose is to enable a unrestricted access to solo.ckpool to the miner.
The use is free as long as I am able to pay this thing.
The use is at your own risk.

to connect:
pool => stratum+tcp://rfpool.org:3334
user => your_btc_address
password => x

you can see your stats as usual under https://solo.ckpool.org/users/your_btc_address

Happy Mining

Just to double-check, stratum+tcp://rfpool.org:3333 still works and does the same thing that stratum+tcp://rfpool.org:3334 does, true?

Quote

Thank you for doing this, if you want, you could post your BTC address here, or start a dedicated topic for rfpool and those who use would help fund it, while I don't personally need a passthrough, for now, I will be more than happy to help you fund the server.

For a few months now I receive from time to time the message in cgminer: `missing nonces; toggling ASIC to reset`
After approximately 1.5 secs its hashing again. Does anybody know whether this error is pool sided or caused by my mining hardware?
I have 2 Gekkoscience NewPac Miners on an RPi 4.

No, Port 3333 is not connected to anything to prevent people to mine unwanted to other instances of
ckpool running on the same machine (one on  Mainnet and one on Testnet).

The passthrough to solo.ckpool.org only works on rfpool.org:3334.

Try posting in the Newpac thread for support.  I would probably try to lower the frequency and/or increase cooling.

Due to a comment about the passthrough function of ckpool,

Quote

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=790323.msg44101418#msg44101418
You posted a lot in that thread also. Any special reason why you ignored my post and are getting people to mine through that buggy code you are running?

I will Inform you that I stop this service now for a while until I have fully tested the proper function.
Therefor I will use my S9 and my local testnet and ckpool as well as the used passthrough server to find out
if there are any issue with it in conjunction with using AB.

As soon as I know what the results are, I let you know if I can continue that service or not.

Update:
My test run a couple of hours now, and it found the first block using the latest source of ckpool from bitbucket.
The miner (S9 with AB) is connected over a second instance of ckpool in passthrough mode.
Proof:  https://tbtc.bitaps.com/1891742

I will let that run for a few days, and if that runs flowlessly I would consider that safe to go back online.
I keep you informed.
