Hi there. A while ago, I saw an interesting contest started by changelly on Twitter, in which they're inviting users to share stories about their experience in crypto over the past 5 years with a hashtag. But it seems to me that 280 symbols on Twitter are not enough to fully reveal the topic.
So how about we share our funny/dumb/instructive stories here?

I'll start. In January 2018, when mining hype was at its best (what a time!), I was assembling a new computer for myself. Among other things, I had to buy a video card, because they were in a huge shortage, their price tags jumped closer to space.
In general, it was a pity to give $800 for the usual GTX1070, so I decided to make it work even a little bit and try to do mining Zcash. Fortunately, I had a friend miner who helped to figure out the issue.

Unfortunately, when the card delivered at me, the ZEC's course collapsed significantly, and I practically did not earn anything from its mining. However, I didn't despair and decided to study this issue more deeply. As a result, this failure situation helped me to work my way into the world of cryptocurrencies and start making my profit on this though I decided to focus on making a profit from bitcoin mostly, not altcoins.

I was introduced to cryptocurrencies by a friend and I liked bitcoin. It is the safest, steongest and can not be susceptible to 51% attack because of the high hash rates generated by the miners. I downloaded electrum wallet and very helpful for me.

There was a time I was just scammed when I bought a shit coin, over 90% of the investment capital were gone and I noticed that the lesser a coin is ranked the high its volatility. So, I liked bitcoin more for this because it is not volatile like other coins but that does not mean it is not volatile at all.

I later know about crypto scam and how to avoid it and here I am today. I do not have the mentality that cryptocurrencies are scam again when I know about it very well.

Well, my story from years ago when I lost my BTC temporarily (for ~1yr) due to the lack of a proper storage of my seeds fits all 3 narratives: funny, dumb and instructive. The feeling of losing your crypto wallet sucks, but the feeling you get when you recover it is amazing

Now that I've been through at least two wallet losses (one was not significant), whenever I teach someone about using cryptocurrencies the first thing I tell them is to take maximum care of the seed, never use centralized services (or at least avoid them as much as possible) and protect their own wallets. It takes only 2-3 minutes to properly store and check a recovery seed but it saves any single fraction of a penny you invest. Worth it, entirely.

I'm not into mining, but I have been lucky enough to enter crypto in early 2017, prior to the bubble that we witnessed that December. Just imagine how lucky you are that time, investing ~1000$ that will turn into ~20000$ in less than a year.

But I will admit that I was scam by a bitcoin doubler in February 2017, not that huge amount though, but I would say that it give me a wake up call and promise my self not to be scam again and just continue to educate myself specially in trading.

There were a lot of things, and fraud, with fake ICOs, and by stupidity, I once gave a person on the exchange 0.052 BTC who promised to double them at the expense of DICE, despite the fact that before that he had done this for about 10 people, but I and a couple of people got nothing . But then 0.052 BTC was $ 40, and they were not particularly sorry, but now there is such a feeling. But to learn from mistakes, it’s better that way.

I don't have much story to share but if I will tell my most unforgettable experience here in Bitcoin is when my friend introduced to me what is Bitcoin. At first, I was doubtful about her story, but when I found proof of what she says, I knew then that Bitcoin is a great investment.

There were times when my posts got deleted, and there were times when I am almost scammed, but when I was able to acquire my first money from one of those signature campaigns. And after that, I was able to realize Bitcoin can really be a place where people can practice investing and transacting with others. With the experience we have, we can share it with others and like me, they can start their experience as well here.

I got best story with bitcoin and altcoin during joining bounty campaign and got payment more than 1 bitcoin, but I still have bad memories when holding many altcoin kinds from bounty campaign until today and become shit coin without have price. With some bounty campaign project I earn 1 bitcoin with social media bounty campaign only.

I don't have so much good stories about cryptoworld because all things happen in a normal things something like that, maybe the best thing for me is that when I invited my friend to try cryptoworld and now he is very thankful for me because he is now making money, we are still student and having a work even though we're still student is such a good thing because we can now sustain our needs from school, just like financial on projects, tours, etc.
We also now can buy what we want because of what we have invested before way back 2017 when the price of the bitcoin became so low.

My story is about saving my life with crypto. I have posted this earlier as well but here it goes again.

Back in early 2017, I met with a motorcycle accident while coming back from office. It wasn't life threatening but I got seriously injured. I din't have much cash left in my account as it was almost a month-end. But I needed a good amount of money to continue with the treatment as my Doctor prescribed some tests including CT scan which is a costly affair in my country. I had no choice to but to borrow money from my relatives or parents.

However, I had some small amount of bitcoin in my crypto wallet. I immediately covert them using localbitcoins so that I can take care the medical expenses. I was off-work for around 1.5 week and bitcoin took care of my personal as well as medical expenses. It is one of the examples how bitcoin can timely help us to achieve any shortfall. Probably I am one of those rare examples, who didn't sell of their bitcoins during the ATH in late 2017 and continue to HODL.

It was in the late year of 2016 when I was looking for some job to earn online and guess what? I landed on some kind of forum that has a thread regarding cloud mining and that was my step towards learning Bitcoin. Back on the day, I was too focused on researching cloud mining it was called hash-ocean it someone here remembers. 2 weeks after I learned about it, it got disappear and scammed a hundred thousands of Bitcoin. It took me two years to land in this site before I learn everything from here until now I'm still learning but I can assure right now that every piece of information that I've learned from here is legit.

I am sure for people who involved in crypto before 2017 will agree that in 2017 will be the best year for them because, in that year, we all can make a big profit. We can make a lot of money from cryptocurrency, and that is not just for making a lot of bitcoin, but it's about making huge money from both bitcoin and altcoin. I wish we can have another time to repeat that year so we will make another big profit from crypto again, and I am sure that time will come soon when the bull run comes to us.

One of my story, why in here into the world of crypto currencyy, is because of a friend of mine because he introduce me the bitcoin, like how to earn more Satoshi and what are the ways to make more earnings on the year of 2017 and now he becomes successful and I regret in life to make included into the world of crypto too and now he becomes one of the youngest I know earning with bitcoin and now I'm heading towards into the world of bitcoin too and ask some guide with the help of him to make more earnings and income by that it takes time to make a profit but still this is like a business that you need to risk and win before you get what you want.

Oh history.
I am kind of a forgetful human being but I will try.

It was years back when I saw bitcoin in one of a pay per click website.
I do it because someone referred me and then he will do the other work for me. Which is also referring. He will put downlines as they call it.

Afterwards, it was faucets. It was really less when converted to USD back then.
I earn like 200k sats per day before with bonuses when I am in the right time. But now, they pay like 10-50 sats (maybe less) which might take you forever to get 1 bitcoin.
I never stopped there into knowing bitcoin deeper. Now here I am in this forum.
I am not much for technicality of it but having the basics is fine with me as long as I understand it.

Seems like everyone were looking for a job online then landed here. Well, the same as mine if it weren't about that CAPTCHA resolving thing I won't be here. Back in 2017 when I was looking for an income that would save me from my pleasure I mean I wanna buy my stuff independently, and the thing that always pop out in the internet whenever I search for an income online is that CAPTCHA stuff but it turn out to be a suspicious one; asking documents I can't provide. Later that, a friend of mine introduce me here, I know nothing about BTC beside that SilkRoad story and all. Am I worried? Yes, but I keep going since discussions here are entertaining, and interesting till I earn my rank, and by that day it was the day a friend of mine introduce me to what a signature camp is. Well, as of now, I find this forum differently not just as a source of income but a different community full of interesting stuff I want to know more. Well, I pursue a course which related to tech because of the influence of btc this forum in my life. I am still learning though, I am still no one in this community. My story isn't that interesting but I wanna share too.

I remember being basically broke and learning about bitcoin in 2011....my first purchase was on VirWox, buying Linden Dollars, then trading them in the Second Life game to some lady in France for some bitcoin. I got 13BTC @ $11 each!

I got a bunch and sold them for 100% profit to people in person, and it was awesome...as the time went by, other friends and people I know wanted, so I was buying and selling to them directly, most of the time for about 20% profit, and I would repeat over and over.

The sad part was that I didnt hold....I was constantly buying more stock, selling for a profit, then buying even more stock.
Then I started trying to find other ways to make my bitcoin grow, so I 'invested' in some cloud mining websites (GAW mining), some Litecoin mining operations (LTCGear?), and a few other places (Bitfunder) where I lost most of what I had.

So now I have a very small percentage of what I could have had, if I had just been keeping some of the profits I was making, but I was too greedy.

I have been holding for a few years now...and I keep a small amount on some exchange which I trade to try and make some more bitcoin. The moral of the story is to not be greedy....keep your bitcoin safe....DONT try and 'invest' your bitcoin in get rich quick schemes.

I am not broke anymore, and do well, but I still shed a tear when I think of how much bitcoin I could have had, if I had just been more responsible.
