So, I've been mining for a few weeks solid now and I think it just took it's toll on one of my 5970's. The fan is making a god awful noise (I can hear it downstairs, through closed doors) at all speeds: 100% actually hurts my ears and is comparable to a hammer drill.

Is there anyway of fixing this or is it going to be a warrant claim?

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

When my 5870 started doing that, the fan had finally given up. I just took the HS off and pointed a few 120 mm fans at it.

Problem with the 5970 is that the entire thing needs to be taken off to remove the plastic shroud over the heat sink. Depending if I have to ship this thing to Hong Kong or not (That is where HIS are based) I may just opt for water cooling...even if it is just this one card for now.
