Technically they are not wrong.
Water doesn't disapear, or is created, It just changes form and state.
...

Technically, it does disappear. Like most stuff out there it does react with the rest of the world and becomes other stuff.

It just changes it's state. Its still water. Even if it's absorbed into a sponge, or dirt, or anythig really, its water still
