Hi Bitcoiners, I've lost my bitcointalk.org account: Energizer

I've been unsuccessfully trying to remember the password for the last month. I've created this new account hoping to be able to reach any of the forum moderators. I've emailed couple of the moderators and haven't heard back from any.

Just now I've check my lost account "Energizer" info, and I found a strange email assigned to it. I've checked my lost account info multiple of times during the past month and the email used to be hidden. Now the email is shown as an email that is strange for me: jhalligan773@yahoo.com

I am creating this thread as it seems that my lost account has been stolen. Could you please advice me what shall I do to return back my stolen/lost account?

The following post was edited last on April 2013:

Within it, it contains the following email:

I am creating this thread to announce that EnerBot is no longer private. It is now available for sale. If you are interested in buying EnerBot You can pm me here or email me at bitnodes@gmail.com with subject [EnerBot]. You can also request private trading features/strategies/add-ons to be added to your EnerBot. Your private EnerBot add-on will remain private, in that it will never be published or made available for any other EnerBot.

He also uses the same email here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=89649.msg3023699#msg3023699

It would seem to me that only either the new owner or old owner should be able to verify ownership of that email address if given a chance.

Also, if I'm reading these posts correctly, you live in the NY area so your present IP should be from that area, presumably. I imagine a mod can get you fixed up.

If you want me to recover a hacked/lost account, you need to prove that you own it. Typically, the only acceptable method of proving ownership is by signing a message (including current date and desired new email address) using a Bitcoin address or PGP key associated with the account. A Bitcoin address or PGP key is associated with the account only if the account posted the key/address, sent it in a PM, or if it is still listed in the account's profile.

I very rarely recover accounts if you can't prove ownership as described above. There are alternative ways of proving ownership, but they take too much time. If I point you to this thread, you can't prove ownership properly, and then I ignore your future PMs, this means that I'm not going to recover your account. Create a new one.

Authenticating using an email wasn't mentioned so I'm not sure if it will suffice, but if you are unable to do it as described above, you can still try and see if Raize's method is enough.

Also, if I'm reading these posts correctly, you live in the NY area so your present IP should be from that area, presumably. I imagine a mod can get you fixed up.

Barring social engineering, mods can't see users' IP addresses. If you need/want to recover an account, contact theymos.

Signature space available for rent.

Ahh ok. He might have to identify if he's used a BTC address then or if he's got one listed in a PM somewhere he knows of.

Thank you so much guys. I appreciate your support. Yes I can prove all the list you've suggested, not even that I can also sign messages with all BTC addresses I've used in the forum in the past couple of years. It is just so frustrating that there is no official support email/feature here in the forum. The only way I thought would help me out is to create this thread, cause I know Bitcoiners here really do care to help forum users.

Thanks for the link, I will contact theymos now.
