I have the same problem as asche. I have mentioned it here before:

Since then the Merits limps around 1 piece behind

Since that day (Sept 14th) my merit is off by 1.

Try /setMerit 12345 (with your merit count)

Sometimes I need to clear the cache, so the issue happens again with a few users.

Few days back, I got the notification that I was mentioned in this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg55223981#msg55223981. However, I don't find any mention of my username in this post. This is happening for the second time that I got notification for such unrelated post. Is it normal or have I made some mistake while setting up the bot?

Not many people were using the bot in other languages other than English. I'm still thinking if it's worth translating the new bot.

The reason you didn't get a notification for those posts was because of their title:
Re: [Auction] ~<1 hr~ LTC Acrylic | SE Penny ROLL | Corrosive #8 | Genesis Ltc #1

It looks like the less symbol "<1 hr" made the message fail, since they are rendered as HTML by Telegram and "<1" isn't a valid HTML tag. Everything should be escaped correctly now.

Surprisingly, this didn't happen before.

It would be interesting in any case. I think Telegram is not bad because the notification is also displayed on the mobile but I could also make myself comfortable with such a notification in the browser. The question is only if the effort is justified... also if you have to start from scratch

I'd be interested, especially if you could push the notification to the browser so even if we don't have the forum's opened, we would still get notified. Not sure how easy would it be to implement this on mobile though?
