Why is crypto is better then fiat?

The cryptocurrencies outpace cash in terms of usage, traditional currencies will lose value without any means of recourse. This is one of the oldest topic still being discussed over the forum as most of us as aware both crypto and fist has its own merits and demerits, it depends on an individual's perspective to decide whether crypto is better or fist because it's not the same situation and plan for everyone. I would prefer crypto over fiat for certain transactions which gives me upperhand over fiat at the same time I would fiat on fiat for certain transactions wherein fiat has upperhand. So it will be an never ending debate mate don't confuse yourself.

I can't help but reason with your point of view... With the current state of cryptocurrency space, you are entirely right but mind you, the concept and vision behind the creation of bitcoin is entirely different from that and i believe the manipulation from the whales will be an history the moment bitcoin gets massive adoption across the globe. Then the manipulation from certain individuals wont really count as the interest of the general users will superceed that of the whales. So I'm picking bitcoin over FIAT anyday when it comes to a more private and secure currency

You are right about that. there are several threads already discussing about the pros and cons of crypto and fiat. However, no matter what benefits we are getting from the usage of crypto, we still need the fiat money in most of our everyday transactions. Consider also the number of population who are into crypto vs. the global population, we are still very small in number. And even if you want to use your crypto to most of your daily transaction, you can't, because very few merchants up until now have their payment method in crypto. So right now, even if we have long list of benefits for crypto usage, we still need fiat in most of our daily living. But of course, as a crypto user, we are already enjoying some of its benefits that we can't get from fiat.

Think that whales manipulating the market but not to consider as controlling the whole market. Unlikely, FIAT is totally controlled by the government but the risk is low compared to crypto. But why people are taking the high risk rather than they could actually stay at FIAT? It is probably looking for a more profitable market and that having crypto seems to the best option.

Governments inability to manipulate crypto because of the blockchain tech is where the advantage stops. Apart from that, I don't see how much anyone can do with crypto without going through FIAT. Well, before you argue this - How did you get your first crypto? Of course, you bought it with a fiat, right? That's my point!

Crypto and fiat should exist side by side, and not one getting looked upon as having the ability to surpass the other.

Governments can force everybody to use their money. They have monopoly control over money. While that’s not necessarily bad, it also eliminates competition. And, leaders have lots of incentives to use money systems for their own interests rather than the general welfare.

With cryptocurrency, nobody can force you to use one or the other. Even the whales don’t have that kind of power. So, they have to compete with each other.

Competition among different money systems should produce better outcomes for society.

Yeah, this is so funny. Pope and cryptocurrencies, I also hear for the first time for this combnation.
Anyway, this everything sounds to me like another conspiracy theory, just this time Vatican is involved too.
For some reason people think that every government and institution is trying to destroy Bitcoin or at least are trying to weaken it. In fact that  It's not true, they have far more important things to do some bitcoiners obviously like to think they are some kind of rebells and victims at the same time.

Anyway, in the world that is still exclusively depending on.fiat it's hard to tell that crypto is better than fiat money especialy having in mind that it's not perfect. Both fiat and cryptocurrencies have its good and bad sides and that is how it should be treated.

I would better be controlled by government than being controlled by anonymous elites. At least you will have a right to criticize someone if anything goes wrong.

Neither crypto is better nor fiat. Both are two different things and one can't sustain without another. Try to think what will happen to bitcoin if you can't convert it to fiat! Both are needed for a sustainable ecosystem. We can't really suppress one for another!

This is a clear and fundamental difference. I've been around here for a while now. The question and comparison on which is better between the two has been asked not just once. And the answers are all quite the same — crypto and fiat are two different types of currency with their own purpose and not needed to be compared, hence.

Personally, I think the two currency goes well the way I use them. I can earn crypto here in the forum and convert it to paper money to buy my needs. They go hand in hand, for me. And shouldn't that be the case? To have fiat and crypto together and let them serve their purpose and not compare which one is better? Because after all, we can use both and have their own individual pros and cons.

im just the same as you  . i also earn crypto then convert it to fiat and spend it or save some  . ill then spend using fiat but i make crypto as a form of money making business  .   if only all stores here accept crypto i wont need to convert them to fiat but no its not although they support credit card and government based online payment system  but we dont know yet on the future  if crypto are really popular  . that should be the time that we can say that cryptos is better than fiat

I really don't think that any one of them will move to the other. I certainly believe that both fiat and crypto will co-exist in future.
Fiat is need to do physical transactions while crypto is good for online transactions.

I believe cash is needed since during times of internet shortage cash will be the best mode of payment since we won't be able to rely on the ISP for the online transactions.

I assume by crypto you are referring specifically to Bitcoin. Yes, because it's the new generation of the currencies, Bitcoin's supply is completely  fixed and can't be changed while the banks can't easily print money with permission of the governments. But after all these the best think about Bitcoin is none know how much bitcoins I hold including government and we all know privacy matters. This is the mean reason I believe crypto is better than fiat.

I don't if better is the right word (at least not yet)  but i can say that crypto has an edge over fiat in some aspects:-
Crypto gives you total control over your funds unlike fiat that have have some restrictions
Sending funds without the need for submitting personal information something fiat won't allow,
Holding crypto can also be profitable most times fiat don't give such profit just by holding it and the list goes on,
But only down side for crypto is that not generally accepted for now.

That is also what I'm afraid of if cryptocurrency will be embraced or gets global adoption it might also lead to global capitalism where the value. The price of Bitcoin or let say the entire crypto market can be manipulated by the big investors or whales. There are lots of advantages that a cryptocurrency have and if we will only focus on then we can conclude that cryptocurrency can be the solution for all fiats' shortcomings.

However, knowing who will gain control in crypto space when it is adopted globally we can not give assurance that no one will manipulate which can make things worst for a lot of people could possibly suffer if only a few can dictate the value and price of any cryptocurrency.

The cryptocurrency advantage then fiat,

• Decentralized, no one control
• Lower transaction fees
• Transaction always secured
• Easy to use and can be used anywhere

I think control or uncontrolled fully depends on globally acceptance of crypto. Now there is no massive rules and regulations globally as its not fully accepted less some rules where crypto are accepted. So when maximum of country will accept it, sure that a global control body will launch and big whales then can not control the market. In crypto we are mainly can save our time and security that maximum time we saw weapons use to take away money.
