You have a bug in the html for the hyperlink to the comment pages.  Just go try to add a comment to a 1BTC coin (using IE)

Also I looked up a few of my coins and one of them is missing!  So maybe you missed an entire load transaction?

The missing coin is http://blockexplorer.com/address/114cSY2WfLFcX32MiW7XWvrXxdoGiJxzCX

Which was loaded in transaction:  http://blockexplorer.com/tx/b7699eef794407b141020a77b706764c05460e9390e016b58d5da0c8c0ab9a48#o3

Notice I added 9 BTC to the coin before cracking it open and then removing all 10 BTC.  Perhaps the adding of BTC then reclaiming messed up your script?

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Yep, you're correct, i forgot to check IE. I missed an apostrophe.  Embarrassed

Yep, if any extra btc gets sent to the address, it will get flagged as invalid Active with Extra BTC.

You can comment on it tho!  Wink http://www.uberbills.com/casascius/?address=114cSY2WfLFcX32MiW7XWvrXxdoGiJxzCX

Yep, if any extra btc gets sent to the address, it will get flagged as invalid.

You should consider just looking at the first (earliest) transfer that is one of the valid denominations: 1, 10, 25, 100, or 1000.  This has a very high probability of being the original funding transaction.  It is unlikely that someone will "donate" funds to my published addresses (other than bitcents) just to vandalize your list because unless they own the coin (implying I funded it), they will have no way to recover their coins.

People adding funds to coins seems like it would be somewhat common.  They work as pocket Bitcoin wallets, and then you have a few people who just want to experiment and see for themselves that adding value to a coin is actually possible.

Also, I might suggest that on the home page of this app, that you update the word "Inactive" to mean "Opened".  To me, an inactive coin is one that has been produced, but which has not been funded.  If you are interested, I would be open to giving additional stats on my coins... for example, I am able to identify certain addresses (or ranges of addresses) as "if they're not funded now, they never will be", as well as "a complete coin has been created with this address but it hasn't been sold or funded".  Might be of interest to publish.

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

I'll see what I can code up for these "experimented on" coins. I'll post up if I figure something out. Gotta cram for next week!

Yes Yes YES! I'm definitely interested in the additional stats for the addresses! I'd like to go through the "Inactive" addresses and be able to mark them unused or broken and add that to the stats. A sold or not sold status would be cool as well!

Thanks for the suggestions and for the help!  Smiley

I don't know how interesting it would be for this stats page but there are also addresses that never got funded and never appeared in the block chain - but were sold (I have some of them).

As a scrap coin (already opened) right?

Yes, I don't think your scrap coins would appear on this list (yet) since they never make it to the block chain.  But you could just give him a list of all scrap coin addressess if you have a list and there is interest in including them.  Personally I have a list of every coin I have purchased and I do include the scrap coins on my list.

I believe I have solved the "experimented on" coin problem. If you find any I've missed, just click on the short address to auto-fix let me know.

The data is quite out of date, a lot of coins have been activated since 12/4.

EDIT: I have also published a new batch of addresses at my usual URL.  There are now 29,000 addresses generated for the Casascius Physical Bitcoins project.  They should last a while...

https://www.casascius.com/fulllist.txt

These have been printed, some have been cut and put in jars, others are still intact in sheets.  Because they come from a jar when the coins are made, they'll get used in random order, rather than sequentially.

plans:
1Au* will be gold coins
1Ag* will be silver coins
1G* will typically be gold plated coins or bars
1C* will be 1 BTC coins

I got a new laptop yesterday and noticed how small everything looked so I updated the layout. I also added a few themes.

naypalm, when compared to http://casascius.appspot.com/ you are showing a few more opened coins like this one:

http://uberbills.com/casascius/?address=13Foozg5TsBNVAnoLQQBLhMBMGTEncknnG

But this coin is actually not opened. Someone just added more bitcoins to the coin. But since it was never spent, it's possibly that the hologram was never opened.

http://blockexplorer.com/address/13Foozg5TsBNVAnoLQQBLhMBMGTEncknnG

One easy way to check for this is just to check to see if this is greater than 0:

Well, it looks like I got to fix my code once again. I Can't do that until after my next volley of exams next week then I'll have a bit of free time over break. Thanks for the advice, I didn't even know about the http://blockexplorer.com/q/ tools! Cheesy

Well, it's been a little over a day since I've set the new script loose and it looks to be fully operational again, thanks for the suggestion coblee!

I also added several new features to the site including:
-BTC-to-USD Real time mtgox Totals.
-Silver and Gold Real-time Totals.
-Google API image charts for "Active" and "Opened" Casascius Bitcoins.
-Added the new Gold 1000 BTC and 5 BTC coins to the display table.
-Added the ability to list all Active or Opened addresses.
-Added the Created date, which displays the date/time in which the address was first funded.

Let me know if you spot anything I may have missed!

Hello everyone, just a small update before the new year.

I've added a few new bar and pie charts and I've also added a new field called "Owned By"; Just as a fun tool, not meant to be 100% accurate (because anyone can change the owner of the coin or bar) but interesting to see how many coins/bars someone can claim to own. Check it out and claim yours today!

Also if it's been awhile or if you want to keep informed of updates, please check out the Original Post and discover all the newest features of the analyzer as they get implemented.

Have a safe and Happy New Year!

What about the OVERFUNDED ones?

Overfunded counts are now included on the charts page. Please note that this includes Active and Opened Casascius Bitcoins as well as the occasional oddball Unused Casascius Bitcoin.

Thanks for the question suggestion.
