1. How do they Scam you?

Recently there has been a lot of scam happening on YouTube. You will see a huge number of subscribers list of a channel with a promotion video.

The video will be an old archived interview of one of the famous cryptocurrency project founder discussing about the project and it's development.

Below that video will be a discription which will eventually tell you to either visit a spam website or ask you to transfer a certain amount of a particular cryptocurrency in order to avail the giveaway.

Another situation would be an active chat, here you will find a lot of user chatting about profit they earned, the benfits of this giveaway and how everyone is earning in thousands of dollars.

Remember always -  You will never be able to comment on such videos as the scammer disabled it.

Followed by a description message asking you to either register on a spam website or transfering a particular amount of cryptocurrency to an address.

Stay away from those kinds of Giveaways as they are scammer or fraudster who are there to steal your money.

2. How do they Scam channel owners?

These scammers target channels which might be struggling with youtube revenue. They offer them a high earnings and then ask them to signup using their YouTube credentials on a spam website.

This lead to their YouTube account getting hacked. The worst part is that YouTube cannot do anything as the owner himself gave his or her account details.

Therefore stay away from such giveaways.

I used to think about how those channels managed to gain thousands to hundreds of thousands of subscribers if they are only promoting scam giveaways. So that's how they've made it.

Since most of the channels that are looking for sponsors and advertisers to their videos, the contact email is on their description. And that's how these scammers do the phishing and acquisition of those channels by sending them first sort of agreement and, they'll require the victim to sign on it including all details.

I haven't seen any of it lately and probably YouTube has detected those fake giveaways that use Binance and other known crypto services to victimize users.

This isn't new and it's very old strategy to scam newbies. However, it's not bad to remind same thing again and again to motivate newbies, so they might keep remember on their mind and avoid such as scam.

To be honest those people trapped into such as YouTube giveaway scam they are greedy enough and most probably they are unable to control their greed for quite sometimes and that's how scam happening everyday. Even those channel has been hacked they are greedy as well, because they are seeking only for money and for that reason they don't know when they enter their channel credential information into phishing site and got hack.

Just keep in mind, if any giveaway ask you to make deposit even a small amount of money in order to receive giveaway fund then think twice. Don't enter your account credential into phishing website and always bookmark original website of your each online account. Most likely that's how we may reduce such as scam.

What really amazes me is the high number of viewers and from their comments it looks like they are falling for it.

Those high number of users who are always chatting when you view them  are bots. If you are their then wait for a minimum period of 5 to 15 minutes and the you will see them repeat the same answers and questions.

Anyone can easily distinguish it  but, most are busy trying to cash it, wherein they are being cashed by these scammers. The simple answers to those falling for these shit schemes is nothing is free in the world we live in

@pakhitheboss, thank you for the info and confirming my doubts. I didn't stay thete for too long to check it out myself but this is what I thought tol as most comments didn't seem genuine and it was clear they were posting pre-generated messages.
I believe Youtube's terms forbid such behavior and the channel may get removed if someone reports it.

As I mentioned in my post, YouTube  is unable to do anything because channel owners have given their details because they were greedy to earn more.

I would not bash only the channel owners but, youtube still can control it if they just tweek their agreement policy and use mobile numbers as of verification.

Since a mobile number cannot be changed so easily now, it would be the best ideal.

They are still not stopping because they can still get away from it, it was big news months ago and they are still at it using popular personalities back then, Please create a similar post on the scam sections so more people become aware of this, although there are similar scam giveaways but this one is new.

It is an obvious scam in my opinion. According to

giveaway is a thing that is given free, often for promotional purposes.

so in short it you can get their giveaways for FREE. In that case the channel ask you to send a money or crypto then it's a scam but not all are the same scheme where it can also be used to spread malware that can steal your information details.

There are many YouTube channel doing that thing, I really don't understand why they are not contented on their earnings on youtube, they tend to do wrong things by scam give always, strangely, why those YouTube channel got do many subscribers can though they are only scamming other people by the giveaways, please if you know that the YouTube channel is not doing the right thing or they are doing that kind of scam, unsubscribe them! They don't deserve your support or your subscriptions. Greediness leads them to do such things, so they are not contented on earning on YouTube.

Great hunt buddy, all of those videos are scam so don't be trapped of them, if you already know that it is a scam then do not try it.
They have so many subscribers, therefore only a few people know that they are giving scam giveaways.

Some of the active users may even be real.  Don't forget there are paid networks where you gain "likes" and "follows" for your channel or video by liking and following others.  Some are huge networks where you can trade YouTube likes for Facebook follows or Twitter clicks for this and that.  I was dumb enough when I was young to use a service like that where you just paid outright for YouTube followers and likes, trying to get a channel going and the end results was the loss of the ability to have an Adwords account with that account, ever.  I wasn't even using Adwords or any ads when I bought the followers, was just trying to build up a network, bad choice.  A couple years later, I got an Adwords account for a website and a week later it was closed. 

I can say one thing, take it or leave it, I helped another friend a few years after that incident, and he made some mistakes with YouTube, when dealing with Google,  honesty is not the best policy.  Yes, if you admit to giving away your info, or making bad choices, they will not help you. If you really got messed over hard and need that account returned to you, tell them you were hacked or something like that.  I hate telling you to lie, but it will give you one more chance with Google sometimes, and I only say this because my friend owned a business, had many employees, and the revenue from his google account was a major hurt, that would have hurt his employees too.  His business partner tried to mess with Google and they got banned, but by telling Google that it was a hack job, they were returned to service.

There is nothing new with the scam method on Youtube. It has existed for a long time but there are always new generations of victims with the same tricks. I spent my time to compose the topic for potential victims and hope that part of them can get benefits from it.

This is not new because most of the youtube videos you can see are just a clickbait, some of them are paid on their advertisement at the same time they are still the winner on that.

1. Clickbait thumbnail - This is the most common and catchy they will put a huge amount of money into the thumbnail and now easy views but at the end of the video you need to make an investment, invite friends, and it takes time before you get earned at the end of the day you waste your time because it is just a scam.

2. Give away - This is the most attractive part on watching videos on youtube because some of them are giving away some small amount of coins just to earn views and likes came from the viewers if you think it is just a useless content at the start of the video close the tab or just use the CTRL + W.

Today there are a lot of youtube content creators just giving a trashed content to their viewers instead of giving a true platform to their viewers some of them just the goal is to have views and subscriber so they can put banners and ads on their videos to earn easily.

With so many things they need to attend to, sometimes they failed to flag it down. But if there will be consistent users that will report it, I think they will eventually take it down. Most YT giveaways are really scams or has hidden agenda. Now that people are still stuck in their homes, and a lot are infront of their computers, there will be more scammers on the loose.

Nah, the system is pretty much a joke. Imagine a popular artist on YouTube having to fight his case when a nobody stole the rights to his music, and YouTube still "sided" with the latter.

And then we have the demonetization thing. A swear word and your video gets demonetized but scams still run rampant.

This actions of scams are too obvious and cliche. All falls down to fraudulent offers and phishing websites. The lesson here is simple, there is no such thing as easy money. Yes, youtube had been a good platform in any aspect of life such as learning, gaming, and ofcourse entertainments. Yet the only flaw is that many believes easily just because of the viewers count and how well-constructed a scam is. Hence, some giveaways are good, but going to external links is simply fraudulent.

Yeah that is correct the more it is reported the faster it will get removed from YouTube. If you are using the YouTube app the. Just tap on the three dots at the top right hand corner to open the menu list. The top one in the list is Report, you only need to tap on it and select spam/misleading content to report.

Greedy people get scammed by giveaways, ask yourself this, what's free?? Nothing, how can someone plans to give you 5 eth for free? In the end they ask you to make some deposits first, lol I can't believe that people are this soft .... Keep your coins, they re gold, don't try doubling them, it's not real
