KEXP-FM (90.3 FM) is a public radio station based in Seattle, Washington, that specializes in alternative and indie rock programmed by its disc jockeys. Its broadcasting license is owned by the University of Washington, which operates the station in a partnership with Paul Allen's Experience Music Project. The station was formerly operated under the call letters KCMU. For the majority of its schedule, KEXP broadcasts a mix of primarily alternative rock. The station also features weekly speciality programs dedicated to particular musical genres, including rockabilly, blues, world music, hip hop, electronica, punk, and alternative country. Live, in-studio performances by artists are also regularly featured.

I'm not from Seattle but I've been listening to their online stream almost daily for a number of years now. They're a great station and currently in the middle of a fundraiser, and so I thought I'd come here to see if there's any interest in pooling some money together and offering it to them under the condition that they accept bitcoin. They have a pretty big audience and it'd make for some easy publicity for bitcoin. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take much to get them to accept either, as most of their funding comes from donations from the general public.
Any other fans willing to throw in some coin? I figure we can pledge separately and contact them individually, but in some sort of concerted effort, or pool it (doesn't have to be me that collects the money) and offer it as a single lump sum. I'll probably email them myself regardless of what happens here but it'd be nice to be able to offer them a few grand to set up an account with Bitpay or Coinbase.

Being that they are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and located in the states, BitPay would easily be ideal payment provider for them with zero fees ever.

If KEXP seems keen to the idea of embedding a Bitcoin donation option onto their website, I see no problem with them getting a $1,000 USD endowment from Bitcoin 100. If such were to occur, I'm pretty sure they would be the first radio station to accept bitcoins.

For an added sales pitch (for lack of a better term), bring attention to them that it's not outside the realm of possibility to pick up an advertiser or two from entities that are Bitcoin-based.

Hi guys. Sorry for being away for a while. The Amsterdam conference is coming up next week, so I've been a bit busy with that in the evenings.

Anyway, Regarding PanPeru, I wanted to know what they actually do, and the first thing their main page and their Mission says is
"We seek to improve the quality of life of children By focusing on education by creating in them an awareness of Christian values ​​and principles, with projection to the family and the community."

Looks like most of their work is in educating children from impoverished areas, so I guess it's ok, but it's a bit concerning how much focus they're putting on religion...

Regarding religion, (to put it in the simplest way possible) we are not imposing religion into people, but rather ideas that come from religion such as family values.  No priest is brought there and no religion conversion is done.  About other things that are done, the button "Blog" can be used to read some of the things that were done.  Not everything is in the site, but soon it will be.  If you have any concerns please post them in this thread.
