Via a PM, and passed on to Rassah to record in the ledger, guruvan has pledge 1 BTC per non-profit with no cap. He also honored 1 BTC at the same time. Thank you so kindly, guruvan, for your fine contribution. The list in the OP and at bitcoin100.org has been updated.

It's been a while since I've been on the forum. Nice to see you guys managed to find an awesome charity!

Sent another bitcoin for the next charity: http://blockchain.info/tx-index/3608083/6785f705b690e34fa0fe5a890b4a42615e62ce772adc632a0b4af8a832f73b3a

We sure have, BTCurious. We've missed you! There was even a thread dedicated to your absence. No, wait! That was BitcoinPorn. But, it's the thought that counts. I've updated the list in the OP reflecting your donation. Thank you, bud.

From this day forward, I will do at least a one bump pledge drive, unless another member of Bitcoin 100 beats me to it. The daily drives will consist of trying to get at least one user to pledge at least 1 BTC. That is all. Just pledge. The honoring of any pledges will take care of themselves as time allows. We try not to be pushy here, but please forgive us for becoming slightly more aggressive in procuring members/pledges/donations.

Thank you, folks.

Each day, I will mention a member who has a link attached to their user name on the list in the OP, starting with the first one and working my way down, thus showing no favorites.

Today's pledge drive is sponsored by Coinabul: The only Bitcoin to Gold Marketplace.

We, at Bitcoin 100, are not a pushy bunch, but do feel that we need to be a tad more aggressive in obtaining new members. That said, would you, the reader, please consider joining our noble efforts by pledging at least 1 BTC. You may honor your pledge at any time when you feel comfortable doing such.

The daily pledge drive goal is to receive only one new member. The current ultimate goal is to obtain 30 new members for the month of April, April (translated) if you speak German (a language so easy to learn, theymos could do it  Wink)

Via a PM to me, Kluge has honored another 6.2497 BTC, adding to his total of previous donations, to date. Thank you again, Kluge, for your wonderful contribution. The list has been update, and Rassah will update the ledger in the very near future.

There's still time remaining today for Bitcoin 100 to obtain a brand new member. Is it you (the reader)?

If we don't get a new member today, tomorrow we'll try for two, for the goal in April is to recruit 30 new members. Remember, all you need to do is pledge at least 1 BTC, whereupon you may honor your pledge at some future date.

Today's the 4th, and Bitcoin 100 is right on track in reaching its goal of gaining 30 new members for April. Currently, for the month of April, we gained 0 new members. At this point, I wish to now thank each new member, individually. Now that that's out of the way, I've revised today's pledge drive upward to four, oppose to two of which I mentioned yesterday. If today proves to be as successful as yesterday, tomorrow's pledge drive will increase to obtaining five new members.

To become a member of Bitcoin 100, simply pledge at least 1 BTC. That is all! There'll be no need for your send in your pledge amount until you are absolutely ready to do such.

Thank you.

CIYAM Pty. Ltd. (Ian) just PM'd me stating that he has donated another 5 BTC to the Bitcoin 100 fund. I have informed Rassah, via PM, of this transaction so that he can update the ledger.

Thank you so kindly, Ian, for this fine contribution.

A new magazine called Northwest Mama included a nice article pertaining to Bitcoin. As stated in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75745.0 (post #4), I've sent them a thank you letter and solicited Bitcoin 100. The following short letter is what I sent via their contact page. I will keep you abreast of any outcomes.

Quote
Hello

Bruno, here, known as Da Bitcoin Guy on Twitter and Phinnaeus Gage on BitcoinTalk.org. I also maintain Bitcoin100.org (still in development).

Thank you kindly, from the Bitcoin community, for the recent article in Northwest Mama magazine about Bitcoin. It was well researched and written.

We, at Bitcoin 100, desire to donate 100+ BTC (apporximately $500) to a charity close to your heart.

The terms for your charity of choice to receive said donation is quite simple. All the non-profit would have to do is include a Bitcoin donation option onto their respective website. Ideally, a Bitcoin button would accommodate the text, but that's not a deal breaker.

Recently, Group B Strep International did just that, as you can see here: http://www.groupbstrepinternational.org/donate.html

That is all! To learn more about Bitcoin 100, visit bitcoin100.org or https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=52543.0.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concern prior to proceeding forward.

Thank you so kindly for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Bruno

Granted, the letter isn't perfect, but I didn't want it to come across as a hard sell. Just a thank you, and a quick introduction to Bitcoin 100.

Update!

Today's the 9th (almost), and Bitcoin 100 is right on track in reaching its goal of gaining 30 new members for April. Currently, for the month of April, we gained 0 new members. If today proves to be as successful as yesterday, tomorrow's pledge drive will increase to obtaining ten new members.

Can't we get at least 10 new members by just having every new Atlas alt pledge once?

Today's pledge drive is sponsored by Memory Dealers: Online super store for transceivers, memory, and cables for all brands.

Today's goal is to gain 9 new supporters of Bitcoin 100. To become a supporter, all you have to do is pledge at least 1 BTC. That is all! No need what-so-ever to send any coins at the time of you making your pledge. You are more that free to honor your said pledge in a couple days, weeks, months, or next year if you so desire.

Our goal in April is to obtain 30 new supporters. We're a tad behind, hence looking forward to gaining 9 new members today. If you're already a member, check the list in the OP to see if any of bitcoiner friends are not current included. If not, drop them a quick PM to nudge them a bit. If you really like them, pledge on their behalf via a proxy pledge.

Pleases consider joining, if you haven't already. In the meantime, take a fresh look at Roger Ver's site, Memory Dealers. Even if there's nothing you'll need now, bookmark his site for later use. And remember, you can order Bitcoin Magazine using fiat on his site.

Great going, psy! I've updated the list in the OP as well as on bitcoin100.org: http://bitcoin100.org/about/partisans/

Thank you so kindly, psy, for your pledge. Now, we only need 8 more new members today to pledge their support, thus keeping us on track to gain 30 new members for the month of April. Is it you?

Happy, happy, joy, joy! Thank you so kindly for your pledge, mahingupta. I have updated the list in the OP of this thread and your name is also on this at bitcoin100.org, here: http://bitcoin100.org/about/partisans/

Today is the 10th of April, therefore we only have 20 more days for Bitcoin 100 to reach its goal of gaining 28 new members supporters. Who, here, thinks we can't do it?

To become a supporter of Bitcoin 100, simply state on this thread, or PM me, that you desire to pledge at least 1 BTC. That is all! There'll be no need for you to honor a single Satoshi at the time you make your pledge. Do that at your convenience.

We don't know which non-profit will be the next one to take up Bitcoin 100's offer, but we can only hope that, some day, a charity like http:cjsids.org, dedicated to trying to save 2500 babies dying of SIDS each year, will come on board.

Have you had any luck with your pledge drive Bruno and are we still sending out letters to potential charities? Please provide a status update.

The pledge driving is sucking big time. In the past two weeks I've sent emails to http://nwmama.com/, http://www.wikispeed.com/, and http://www.khanacademy.org/. No replies from any of them as of yet. I'll keep plugging though. To be honest, I have been a little lacked in my responsibilities here, but will improve in the coming days. In fact, I need to tighten up the website a tad, for I'm planning on using it as a marketing tool, of sorts, when soliciting brick & mortar entities to embrace Bitcoin.

I hope I've addressed your questions and concerns to your liking, CBH. Feel free to recontact me at any time.

Even though I'm just a lowly treasurer, I admit I've been slacking off considerably when it comes to soliciting, too. Got sick, school got very busy, and spend the last two weeks moving my networked storage server from Windows to Linux, which, of course, meant I had to learn Linux almost from scratch (if you must know, settled on FreeBSD with ZFS). I've actually been slack, king off on almost everything. Must be one of those, uh, months. I'll get back into bugging charities though.
