You may be wondering how Chainalysis products could support privacy coins. Isn’t the whole purpose of privacy coins to make transactions impossible to trace?

That’s an oversimplification, in that it misunderstands both the privacy features coins like Dash and Zcash offer and how users actually utilize those features in everyday transactions.

I dont think they ever cared much if DASH or ZCash ledger is opaque or transparent.  As long as it will make them profit. Forgetting that if developers cheated them and sold them a "so called privacy coin" as a privacy coin, then they most likely cheated them at something else also.

Regardless of the reasons mentioned, there are two reasons:

 - Confirmation speed: It has become possible to safely accept DASH payments by obtaining only two confirmations, and the speed of transmission in seconds.
 - Profit-making: Privacy coins mean more customers, and thus more profits, just as Dash/zcash is not a bad name compared to Monero.

The reason does not matter, and the platforms do not necessarily mention the true motives for this, but as long as there are profits, there is an increase in adoption.

I think if these privacy-based cryptocurrencies are well  decentralized, safe and good, they will have the moral right to challenge tracking companies for privacy/anonymity violations and even win the case in just courts or with just laws.
Now, they have to make sure "bad things" aren't using the network to cause evil in societies/world... and it should be done without violating the important principles of true Blockchain/decentralized system.

Confirmation speed is important in real life. It is a big plus point of top altcoins compare to bitcoin.
