It is not clear exactly what you mean, do you mean a particular altcoin or altcoins in general?

If it is the former then yes an altcoin can disappear at any moment and there are many reasons for that, it could be a scam, a mediocre project, a good project but the developers could mismanage the money they were given, change in the local or international laws.

However if it is the latter the answer is no, even if many altcoins disappear each year the market of altcoins will never disappear completely for many reasons, one of them is that we need a sandbox for bitcoin, not every feature can be implemented on bitcoin right away, first we need to know if they are safe and if the idea can actually work and altcoins are perfect for this, another reason is speculation, many people want to obtain more bitcoins and that is impossible by just holding bitcoin, altcoins give you the possibility to multiply the bitcoin you are holding and this is why even when the market is not moving much people still decide to invest in altcoins out of a desire to get profits.

No one does have the crystal ball when we do talk about on what are the thing that would happen in the future thats why theres no one would able to answer up this question. Altcoins would vanish? I'll say that anything could happen even bitcoin would gone into existence but its hard to believe on such manner though since we know on what are the contribution and benefits on where these projects do give into its users. Same goes for some top alts too even though most of them are completely trash but there are coins which are essential and useful too in different sectors not just only with bitcoin.I dont know why you do ask such question but
you can actually saw that they do have usage somehow.

As long as the software is opensource, the altcoins are going to be where they are. Why do it have to disappear, its just an alt for you, you don't need to buy them if you are not interested. Its not about whether you like them or not but there are investors who funded these projects in the past and the developments of these projects had opened quite a huge opportunities for more developers in crypto.

Coins can be burned by the project team but if we talking about the altcoin in general then they will exists here as long as bitcoin survive or even more but not every coin is going to survive though.

disappear?? will not..  The altcoin is an alternative currency after Bitcoin, as long as there are still many investors who glance at and trade on Altcoin then don't think Altcoin will die.  I am sure that in the future cryptocurrency will become an alternative currency and its existence will be recognized by the government, but not all will get recognition, it is likely that only those who have the potential have a great opportunity..

The question of the OP is vague so guess he will not get the answer that he's looking for. But if you talk about the altcoin in general, I don't think it will disappear anytime soon and for the next coming years. But everything is possible to happen but right now, the possibility of them disappearing in the next couple of years is very low. But if you talk about a certain altcoin, one can see if it has future or not by studying its foundation, its use case in the market, its actual developments and how the team respond to its customers regarding their future plans.

They can if most of the people will start realizing that there should only be one coin to emerge and that coin is bitcoin. Although it depends to an altcoin, it can disappear a little by little if there is no more demand on it. If the trades are no longer sustainable and there is no morenpeople that trades for that coin.

Is it something predictable, buddy? I think NO, no one really knows exactly about altcoins' future. However, in my opinion, since many parties are involved in altcoins, I believe they will always survive as long as crypto space exists. Altcoins have a big role to support the improvement of crypto adoption around the world. Not only support crypto space but even it also contributes to the Bitcoin. I cannot imagine how hard Bitcoin survives without altcoins. It probably has a small chance to survive because of weak support from the community.

Many alternative coins or altcoins already disappeared. Most have no real developers and only a few miners or even probably just 1 miner. Some live on other blockchains so do not need mining. Some do not even have blockchains! Many have died. Just look online for snapshots of CoinMarketCap in 2014;)

'Altcoins' covers everything in crypto except bitcoin. Some coins will surely do very well in the future, and many will fail.
Generally, for a simplified approach, you can consider marketcap to be a barometer of the quality of the project. Of course some high cap coins will fail, and some tiny cap coins will grow enormously... but market cap in general can be considered a reasonable approximation of how each project is currently viewed.

Most of the new cryptocurrencies did not start emerging and I hope the future cryptocurrencies will do not lies with them. Though Ethereum, Litecoins, Binance Coin, XRP, EOS are ruling the alt world for now as they are the first Blockchain products invented. But I did not find any new projects like them. The question is if a good project doesn't come to the industry in the near future, will these few projects be able to keep the crypto alive?

Usually, in the way we identify good projects, many projects get scammed and some projects may give us profit. All in all, if you calculate at the end of the day, the profit tie is less and a lot of the time it becomes a loss. I don't think anyone can always invest in a 100% legit project!! And if it continues like this, investors will lose interest in investing and can Alt Coins disappear in this way!!
