I know that there is no feature in the forum that lets you know when a post of yours is deleted along with the thread. is there or has anyone created a script or a bot that automatically notifies you when your post is indirectly deleted?

I think piggy and loyce were hosting telegram bots for this you could ask them if it's possible to trace the modlog for this (looks like it's "topic removed" followed by the topic number so I'm not sure how they'd go about it without using a lot of resources though for long threads - unless they limit the number of replies for the thread - this'd require somekind of archive of {topic number: uids}).

You could try using some sort of rss aggregator, like "page modified" that scans normal html/php pages and looks for specific items, as per your set up and have it watch your "posts" page, not sure if that will work.  Or, along the same lines, use a simple scraper or automation software to check the same.  But, I would ask the admins here first, before running any kind of behind the scenes software that causes extra traffic for the site.  Just you is one thing, but if it catches on, then there are hundreds of people using it to watch their posts and such and that could almost double the traffic in some cases.  If  it is one or two threads that have your interest in watching, either add them to your watch list, or put that thread in your bookmark toolbar and use that as a starting page for coming to the forum everyday.

It would be nice if we have one as sometimes one day we wake up that our post count reduced without receiving a notification, if we can check anyway, that would very helpful to us and I hope loyce will be able to create this kind of script.

If thread is deleted, no notification and that would affect the post count especially if we have a lot of replies in a certain thread.
Mods have a valid reason why threads were deleted but us getting notified is going to be useful, especially for those who are in a signature campaign.

Unfortunately for me this week, I have posted at least 20 post this week "from the 8th to the 14th", but I did not realize that today I must accept the fact that I only have 13 posts left. Although I always pay attention to the quality of posts every time I do, but in the end I failed to get paid in the campaign for this week because it did not reach the minimum number of post. Is there a way to prevent this from happening in the future ? I do not know where the mistake is.

I do not blame deletion, but I just want to correct this error so that it does not happen again in the future.

This is hard to deal with as you might have to track movals to certain boards too. I think topics deleted end up in the "trashcan" or the void (just dropped from the database). Whereas if some posts are removed and aren't tracked to places like archival it could also cause a similar issue.

On the other side I hope you're not trying to make posts just to reach your payment minimums because that'll dilute actual discussion quite a bit imo...

thanks for the suggestion but I'll wait for now. they might see this thread and reply what might be possible to do and I don't really want to bother them with something this trivial.

even if the admin allowed this I'm not sure if I can do it since I am not that knowledgable in programming nor in coding and will have to learn everything if I were to do this. thanks for the suggestion!

If it was something that ever interested you, I can help you out, it is not as complex as it seems, there are several apps/programs that needs a little initial setup and are very simple after that.

Thats a problem for me because I cant identify the topic. So far I have never posted just to reach the minimum number of posts, I can even post more than needed as a requirement when in a good mood.

So far I have no problem why my post was deleted and also why I was not paid because I knew that I did not meet the requirements because the post was deleted and that did not change anything for me and might trigger me to post better on higher quality topics. I do not want to delete posts like this as something that is considered complicated, but this is more about self-introspection and the quality of posts. Thanks jackg

So what would you have done differently if you had that information? Would you have tried to create posts that you didn't intend to create otherwise? I don't think that's good for the forum nor is it a good reason for the feature requested in the OP.

Detecting deleted posts is pretty much impossible without rescanning user's post history so I doubt that any third-party parsers would be able to do it. It's certainly not scalable. Might be done as an on-demand service ("show me how many posts I had deleted this week") but that's not much better than simply keeping track of your post count.

Maybe a good rule of thumb is to post on the forum and maintain a record on your PC.  Simple url link and your post.  This can help you track your posts, keep info straight over time and help to see how your posting grows and evolves over time. If the files get a little big, then use a folder and separate them into time structure or what have you.  Type your post into the text document record first, prrofread and then copy and paste.  There are lodas of ways that having this info backed up can help you.

This identification can at least prevent me from posting on low-quality topic so as to minimize the number of deleted posts without notice. Although I know that we have quality assessment criteria for topics that are set individually, but sometimes I feel I have to quote something there "on low quality topics" and issue opinions scientifically and also based on experience with the aim of correcting the opinion of user who are wrong .

Detecting deleted posts is pretty much impossible without rescanning user's post history so I doubt that any third-party parsers would be able to do it. It's certainly not scalable. Actually I am not interested in using third-party services or anything to find out about deleted posts without notice, because so far I just want to continue to improve the quality of posts and make them useful for other users. I have received many scorns from many users in the past regarding the quality of my posts, and now I am in a transition to a better direction. Thank you for answering my question.

but that's not much better than simply keeping track of your post count.
Right, this is the easiest way to find out and despite all that I can accept the consequences without problems. Wink

An easy way to get an idea of the numbers of posts the mods are really deleting is to mark your pages when it rolls over every 100, 250 or even 1,000 posts together with archiving at that point.  Also, try keeping a rough note in your head each day, or even just have a post it note and daily write the new total.  The mods seem to be on the war path at the moment judging by the number of threads started recently to hold them accountable.

I think piggy and loyce were hosting telegram bots
I've never created a Telegram bot. TryNinja made one last month.

Quote
for this you could ask them if it's possible to trace the modlog for this (looks like it's "topic removed" followed by the topic number
This could actually work! I already have a list of all posts in a topic for posts made in the last 10 months. TryNinja has the same data.
@TryNinja, can you add this to your bot? You could send a notification to all users who posted in a thread when it gets trashed. Unfortunately, that will also include users who's posts are deleted (by themselves, by the creator of a self-moderated thread, or by a moderator) because there is no easy way to trace deleted posts.
I could make something myself, but I can't do notifications and this fits a Telegram bot much better.

I'm still scraping all older posts (example). This will be done around August. After that TryNinja can have the data (probably around 60 GB) to include all topics (except for hidden boards).

There's a complication though: yesterday, I posted in this topic as a warning, knowing it would get deleted after my report. The user was Nuked, and the deleted topic didn't show up in modlog. That means topics created by Nuked users should also trigger a notification, and I didn't keep track of which user created which topic. Once I'm done scraping all posts, I could get this data again by checking which user made the first post in each topic (without downloading 5.25 million topics again).

Example:
The latest deleted topic in modlog is this topic. It has posts by 2 users, chote85 and mikeywith. I don't think I've ever had a topic deleted, but I assume chote85 will get a notification. So only mikeywith needs to receive a notification. Ideally, it should include a link to his original post because it's quite a loss of his effort.

Thats a problem for me because I cant identify the topic.
Does this help? See all unedited (or deleted) posts made by ShowOff.
I also have this planned:
Todo:
When I have the time, I'll create something to classify all posts in a requested topic as "unedited", "deleted and archived", "edited within 10 minutes" or "edited after 10 minutes". But that will only be for one topic at a time, you can't easily check all posts.
Another Todo: I should create this per user, that could prove very useful. Deleting a post would make that post stand out more!

Might be done as an on-demand service
Mine as mentioned above will indeed be on-demand only.

I do not blame deletion, but I just want to correct this error so that it does not happen again in the future.

It also happens sometimes to me. Yesterday I do some posts and see 2 of them deleted I mean the topic is deleted by the topic creator. In this case, I will suggest to you who are facing these problems.

1. Always try to post in a constructive thread. sometimes we can guess the topic could be deleted in the future, so avoid them. Sometimes we can see a topic where someone already said to lock or remove the thread to another section, it also should be avoided if you don't think something necessary to post there.
2. check the topic creator account. band new and newbies topic creators made some mistakes and delete the topic later.
3. Always check your post count to track it.
4. To qualify the signature campaign you should make little more posts so that you will not be affected if some posts got deleted.

Done.

As you said above, it will only work when mods deleted the whole thread (except when the user is nuked).

Done.

As you said above, it will only work when mods deleted the whole thread (except when the user is nuked).
Good job TryNinja. Just checked and see it's added. But it would be better if you add a notification for deleted by mods and also by the topic creators. Is it possible? Because many times topic creator deletes the whole thread and we can not track it easily. It is possible by loyce.club but it takes more time to find out the posts.  Smiley

what do you mean? I mean if I create a thread and delete it after a few hours/days then all posts on the thread will have vanished automatically.

edit: You are right. Just try it after hosseinimr93 said in below post and really I am feeling LOL now. It was my mistake dear. Thank you.
