BitKapp is releasing an open source Live Bitcoin price plotting software written in python. It is free to use and distribute in accordance to its GNU License.

The software has been developed as a learning experience and for general fun. However BitKapp does need to support its servers and we therefore ask that if this software has been of use to you to please consider a small donation at 1Bc9Jr8rxcp3be4DUHfVdSh3sZ9My9pqog

If you have any queries, suggestions or bug reports please do not hesitate to post them!

Github Link: https://github.com/bitkapp/bitcoin-live-price-plotting-software

Features:

  • Ability to set the refresh rate time for the requests. This scale goes from a default of 10 seconds per request to 60 seconds.
  • Ability to set the Y-axis scale with a simple slider widget.
  • Y-axis will auto update according to the current price whereabouts on the canvas.
  • The color of the line will change if the price goes up or down (this will help with very small changes in the price). Screenshots below.
  • Supports multiple currencies (USD, GBP, EUR)

No GitHub link to see source code, or at least not easily findable... stop bumping your trojan horse.

Sorry maybe could've been a bit more polite here, (not removing original comment so people understand)

From what I'm seeing, there are loads of these on websites already, and the best one I've found is http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com even though they only take MtGox price.

Awesome job on the software, though it looks very incomplete, and since you claim to release it under the GNU license, why not put a link to your source-code in the same post... because now the first thing people will expect... is that its a trojan horse or something similar.

Getting taken seriously in the bitcoin space, requires you to do your diligence, and as many said before... no source link... instant ignore.

I’m sorry for any confusion I've created by not putting a github link. This has been done, so anyone with any doubts can see the code for themselves on github. I feel truly offended by the insinuation that I was bumping any type of virus. I don’t really need anyone to download or tell me anything about this software. This project was done in a few days and solely for the purpose of learning and having a bit of fun with python. You say the software seems incomplete, I accept the claim since as I said I've only been working on it for a few days. Do you have any helpful suggestions of things I might add to it? Thanks anyways for the feedback!

Feedback would be greatly appreciated! Also we are developing two more applications to go in hand with this one. One is an orderbook to see the most recent bitcoin orders on mt gox. Also we have developed (easliy) a simple currency (USD, GBP, EUR) to bitcoin converter, which should be useful for any merchants out there. This will be released very soon! Please post any feedback for interest mainly for the orderbook! The currency to bitcoin app has already been done, and will be released soon.
