This global initiative now supports 3 university partners to further accelerate academic research, tech development, and innovation in blockchain, IGAs, and cryptography.

I know that several major universities are already doing further research and work for blockchain technology, and IMO, this is what will help us take this technology to the next level. Thoughts?

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Yes, there are a lot of universities around the globe really looking at blockchain and harness it's power and take advantage of this technology and see what sector or industries can benefit from it. So I will not be surprised that in the next 5 years, we will hear more of this buzzword and how it really help private or public sector of the society.

But take note though that it doesn't mean the crypto will be adopted as well. It's a different story, they just love the technology behind it.

I hear mixed kinds of news related to blockchain and crypto from India, looks like there is immense discrimination in understanding crypto between the govt there and masses because we hear news like complete ban of crypto and on the other hand universities offering degree programs in the same niche, may be govt or beaurocracy there still lacks enough knowledge about blockchain tech and its importance for future development.

It is a good chance and ideas to introduce and also facilitate the institutions to make certain blockchain for business. this will widespread the utility of blockchain technology. Of course, introducing this will also make many more people aware of technology development.

However, some moments ago, I heard about the plan of India for banning the activities of the wide spreading of cryptocurrency. If the ideas of making blockchain for business also relate to cryptocurrency, what will it happen?
I also do not know exactly why the government plans to ban the crypto after so far it is good enough in the country. they think of the down of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as stated in the article below https://decrypt.co/32160/india-considers-another-widespread-ban-on-bitcoin
Is it not with this, the development of the world of technology can be increasingly difficult to develop?

After 2018 there have been a lot of recommendation by different units of Indian government but none of them have actually reached the parliament or have become a law. It is not possible for a third world country to straight way ban cryptocurrency when there have been a lot of investment in that field lately.

The country is struggling with corona virus and the banking sector is already showing negative signs. I do not think such recommendations will impact the the Indian crypto community for the next five to six years.

I don't know if this is a good move, especially for a privacy-centric blockchain to be popular in India. Plenty of tech support scams operate around India and if they catch news of this, instead of using gift cards but a privacy-centric cryptocurrency.

This is a very good news to hear.  I believe academic institutes are now seeing the reality and the use case of the block chain technology and also optimistic that more institutions will also fall in to this.  However, I just hope this will not just remain a news, because we've heard and read news like this before and nothing was heard about them again.  It is the wish of everyone in the space that crypto/block chain technology get huge adoption across the globe.
