I think all clients i had from bitcointalk prefer to use bitcoin to buy services / products they needed ...

Not a single client that i had until now used altcoins like ethereum ,litecoin etc or tokens like usdt,usdc ....

Why do you think people don't like to use altcoins to buy things on the internet ?

Btc is probably one of the most secure and has had the longest track record for security. It also has a fairly large development pool as well as a lot of people thinking the good parts of other coins will come to bitcoin... Its pretty stable in price too compared with alts and a bit more trusted to remain at the same price over long periods of time (it'll still be worth more than alts for at least a few months which we can be pretty confident about).

I think the trade off in fees is worth it for the security, availability and speed if things are bought for delivery or bought over the ln.

for an asset to be used as a means of exchange, it needs to achieve widespread acceptance. bitcoin is the currency of the internet---no altcoin has come close to its levels of acceptance and liquidity. years of entrenchment have only further reinforced this dynamic.

bitpay's dominance as a payment processor probably played a role as well. they only began supporting ETH and stablecoins in the past several months.

i don't like to hold altcoins myself. i may trade them from time to time but i treat them like hot potatoes. i tend to spend bitcoin because it's what i actually own.

I don't think there is anything strange about it, because BTC is widely accepted and you know that. Even you, it's more likely that the first cryptocurrency you used was BTC, so it shouldn't be a surprise. We didn't know about these altcoins before, BTC was first and it was like the main thing that is called cryptocurrency. If you go out there, even people that don't make use of Bitcoin, if you ask them questions like - do you know what is called cryptocurrency? They will answer you Bitcoin and not Ethereum, not Bitcoin Cash, not even ripple or any other. That's not going to change easily, it's just how it is.

After the acceptability of bitcoin is the trust the coin. Trust in the safety of transaction, in the size of community and the system as a whole with soft disposition to bitcoin in particular by governments. The next in this line will be the stable coin and seeing government support in stable coin especially in USD value could scale up in few years from now.

Simple!
Bitcoin is the main crypto on where majority is trying to accumulate and alts would be just only in next in line thats why you do see that majority do mostly accept bitcoin as a main payment
neither for services or for their goods.It isnt really that surprising though and yet that thing has always been the norm.There might be some people whom do consider on accepting
alts but most of the time they would always aim out for btc.

No mate, there's nothing strange about it . Here are the reasons I think of:

1. Many use it over the alts simply because it is the most popular crypto. Most new users knew it first before any alts available.
2. In the eyes of investors/buyers & sellers this is the best option they think of. They are comfortable to use the Rank 1 rather than Rank N coin.
3. Not all of people know that Ethereum got a lower fees, Monero offers more security etc. That's why they use btc.

BTC is the most popular. If I say I'd be paying cryptocurrency to someone who'd do something for me, all those boys out there will already be thinking I'm sending BTC to them. If they realize I'm going to send ETH, they'd be frowning or worse scream scam to my face.

Service providers website somehow accepts ETH and XRP but mostly are just accepting BTC, I don't know if there is a wordpress payment plugin that we can use to accept ETH and other coins but its just BTC that I have been seeing.

Bitcoin is the most secure,reliable and trusted digital currency to be use to buy goods and services. And mostly Bitcoin are accepted in some stores as a mode of payments. Also bitcoin is the most popular digital currency that most people know,although in my country ,you are able to use some altcoins like ethereum, xrp and bch for payment.

A lot of them are still not familiar with other alt transactions also. And yes, most of these ecommerce sites are only accepting btc, so how would someone use those alts? Also, usage of other alts like doge with lower tx fee is not yet common among those online shops.

I think that is not strange because people will have their choice to use bitcoin for making transactions. Maybe almost all of your clients like to use bitcoin to pay the services you offer to them, but someday, you will have clients who want to use the altcoin to pay your services. I would call that is the beauty of using cryptocurrency. With so many alternative coins in the cryptocurrency to pay, people will select what coin they like to pay, so it is not a problem.

Well, Bitcoin is the number one, the only cryptocurrency that is acceptable by all. Bitcoin is the common ground among all cryptocurrencies. Altcoins may be bashing each other, pulling each other down, competing against each other, and so on but if they are really for the advancement of cryptocurrency they will promote Bitcoin alongside their shitcoin.

Any shitcoin trying to claim as the real Bitcoin or the next Bitcoin is the shittiest of all.

But, well, I myself am using altcoins, too. I gamble mostly with ETH. I offered lending services through altcoins as well. I also use XRP and LTC. But all these altcoins are not really competing against Bitcoin to the point of attempting to take the crown away from it.

We have different approach when it comes to the use of cryptocurrency. Most of us really prioritize bitcoin above all, and those altcoins are just a sideline or an alternative source of profit. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency that was invented and other coins are just an influence of it.

It depends on the people if they find more benefits in using altcoins that bitcoin, we have different experiences and preferences.

Right now, bitcoin is the most known and successful bitcoin that is currently regulating in the market. Also I knew a lot of people who are trusting bitcoin than altcoins that's why majority of cryptocurrency users are a bitcoin holders. Altcoins are good, but the profits in using bitcoin is much larger than that.

Maybe the reason that people are using bitcoin for transaction is that most of the services and businesses are only accepting bitcoin, it does not matter though whether they use altcoin or bitcoin because we all have preference, plus the reputation of bitcoin is established for a long time than that of any alt coin.

It's not actually strange since we all know btc is the father of all cryptocurrency and remain on top simply because of the trust that btc gained this past few years and in the near future. Also the value of btc is quite high. You can buy more with 1btc compared to alts. So it's obvious, many will pick btc to use and most crypto currency user became familiar with btc first before altcoin.

It´s just for safety and the same as why people prefer buying Blue Chips in opposite to Penny stocks? The established company/coins have a higher success rate and are therefore more commonly accepted and easier to handle. There are over 5000 tokens out there right now and 98% of them are trash, assumed in a positive manner.

People in the crypto world don't buy with altcoins because most of the online merchants don't accept altcoins.Another reason is that people stick to what they are familiar with.Most of the people,that joined the cryptocurrency world (like myself) started using Bitcoin in the beginning,so I don't think they are that comfortable using altcoins,even though there's no big difference in fees or convenience between BTC and altcoins..
Using tokens like USDT outside of an cryptocurrency exchange platform seems weird to me.

With thousands of altcoins available in the market, only few is worth to buy and to invest. Thus making them hard to choose which of them is the right coin to be hold. Bitcoin is the first choice of most of the crypto investors. It has a good reputation and has a good returns with established image. If a newbie were to ask about crypto coins, majority of them will only tell bitcoin. Because when it comes to the popularity, bitcoin is leading compare with altcoins.
